***hi welcome to our retro 1970's Bedford camper, please don't expect new , sited on our farm, you have your own woodfired hot tub, outside shower, patio and bbq area, on the farm we also have a covered pool, barrel sauna, games room, and pizza oven, we also have shepherds hut accommodation and bungalows (2) in the village which is approx. 25 mins by car from York, Harrogate, Ripon, and the dales, is a good eating pub the General Tarlton 5 mins walk and a duck pond ! Our camper is cosy it has a rear seating area which makes in to a double bed, a gas hob oven and grill, small fridge, a shower cubicle with porta loo in it ( we will empty if need be) it is very much as it was 40 years ago so please don't expect perfect, a small tv /dvd player is included, there is a patio area with awning and bbq and the hot tub, also quirky outside hot/cold shower...…. we also collect vintage cars and tractors which you are welcome to look at

Fab escape

We spent a lovely few days on the farm, with the escape from it all experience we hoped for! Comfortable bed and surroundings, lovely views and excellent service from hosts Gillian and David. We would definitely visit again and indeed recommend to family and friends.

We stayed for two nights and had such a wonderful time, James looked after us from the minute we came, gave us a tour of the farm and made us feel extremely welcome. He had set up the hot tub for us on both days so it was ready for us to use in the afternoons and was in contact with my partner for the duration of the stay whenever we needed anything. A serene and ideal getaway - we are already planning to come back. Great location as only 10 minute drive from Knaresborough.

2 night break for de-stressing

Easily booked and communications quickly replied to. Peaceful location but with excellent facilities. Also a new toilet and shower room 20 yards away which was a definite bonus. Love Bug had privacy from other properties. Don't expect all mod cons, it is what is advertised but really special experience

Quirky and wholesome!

The hosts were beyond friendly and helpful! Wanted to stay somewhere different, but with proper facilities and we got exactly that. Although thr ad says outdoor shower, there was a brand new little canin with toilet, sink and shower that was only ours to use. Came equipped with bbq, outdoor seating, fire pit and of course the hot tub! The weather was great for us but thr hot ub had a cover which would have saved our butts had it been as rainy as it has been! Great stay and have already recommended the spot to lots of people! Big shout out to Gillian for being so accommodating, we are so appreciative! We'll be back for sure 😊

Had a fantastic time here , Great location , stayed in the retro campervan , would definitely recommend for something a bit different. Would probably hire one of the other larger properties on site for a longer stay .

Best weekend away

Absolutely amazing chilling weekend away. The love bug is so cute and really comfortable bed!!! Hot tub, bbq, log burner all Absolutely fantastic. Gorgeous view while chilling in the hot tub. Just perfect. We'll definitely be staying again!!

Best weekend away we've ever had.

What a fantastic site, It had everything we wanted, great accomodation including hot tub, chimnea & barbecue. Outside area was very private & a great view as we sat & relaxed. Property owners were also extremely friendly & helpful. Would rate it 10 out of 10 & 5 stars for everything. We couldn't have asked for more & we've already booked our next stay there.

Perfect getaway

Absolutely loved our gateway and staying the rv was a totally different experience and quirky. The hot tub was amazing , the location , all the different things on site also was great . Gill and David was always at hand to help and was very welcoming . I’d definitely recommend and will come back again x

Weekend away for my boyfriends birthday.

We went on Thursday and came home on the Saturday morning, was a beautiful quiet and very peaceful place to stay. Couldn’t of stayed anywhere more lovely, the hot tub and sauna was amazing. Thank you so much and we will defiantly be back. I would give this place an overall 5*

Fab break in quirky accomodation

Can't fault our 2 night break at this lovely Camper van. The site was amazing with brilliant facilities. Swimming pool and games room lovely but best of all was yhe wood fired hot tub. Gillian the host was so welcoming and showed us some of the other accommodation too. We have recommended to all family and friends and we will definitely be back as we didn't want to leave this wonderful place.

Lovely stay in The Love Bug !

We were met by young James who showed us everything we needed to know about the location and our choice of accommodation, the Bedford Camper Van, Love Bug. All in all a great experience - we used the pool which was fine - the outdoor shower was brilliant but having access to a separate shower and toilet area was a bonus. Perhaps 4 nights inside the camper van was too much and when we stay again we would definitely upgrade to a larger unit if staying more than a couple of nights. Hot tub was a winner but do allow 40/45 minutes to heat up properly - being in there with a drink and watching the sunset was a great feeling ! Can highly recommend The General Tarleton (less than 5 minutes walk away) for drinks and food - great place and service. The Blue Bell, in the opposite direction, is a five minute drive away and serves the best breakfast in the area ! We would stay in Ferrensby again and definitely at this lovely, quirky place.

2 night stay

It was lovely, the manager was lovely and we enjoyed all the quirks of the place. If and when we come game we would definitely get something a little bigger just for the bubbling hot tubs. We would also come again with the extended family.

I LOVE IT HERE

When can I move in? I just love staying in the Love Bug, with the animals close by, being outdoors, even showering outside. It’s amazing. David and Gillian are so accommodating, approachable and have thought of everything with their little gem of a site. I’ll be back for round 3 soon I’m sure! Xx
