The description is correct..."charming". I very much enjoyed the stay at this apartment. Absolutely make sure this is your São João location

What an absolutely amazing view of the fireworks for São João and such an amazing view of the city. We were able to easily walk into Porto every single day and enjoy the beautiful banks that we were on also. We found ourselves consistently looking to see if we can find the property from the other bank and I just felt special when we did that. Incredibly clean, beautiful furniture, the host clearly loves what he does. I would be back here immediately!

One Week in Porto

Overall we greatly enjoyed our stay at MyRiverPlace N.2. The photos are a very accurate representation and the views of Porto from the windows were just fantastic. We spent time every morning and evening just gazing out the windows and enjoying the view. Pedro was very responsive and helpful, and there were a lot of nice touches in the apartment. For example, a list of places he recommends you see, recommended restaurants, the closest grocery store, etc. He also provided plenty of toilet paper for the bathrooms, dish soap for the kitchen, dishwasher pods, and other such amenities. A few minor notes: The bathroom towels were a little small and thin and we would definitely recommend investing in some larger, thicker ones. There was also only one kitchen towel and we would have liked an extra or two for drying dishes (we didn't use the dishwasher much). Finally, if you're tall (I'm 6'2") the master bed is just a tiny bit short and with the foot board it can be tough to fit in the bed. The above are all minor things though, and we wouldn't hesitate to stay again if we are even back in Porto. Thank you so much Pedro for a lovely stay!

Beautiful Apartment

From the time of confirmation of the booking to our being dropped off at the airport at the end of the stay, Pedro was always contactable and ready to assist. The apartment is spacious with the best views of Porto. You can watch the sunset from the lounge or the shared terrace ...it is truly breathtaking. The apartment had everything you may need ...the washing machine was a bonus. Yes, there are steps down to the apartment but the journey down is made better by the evolving view! We took Pedro up on the suggestion that he could collect us and return us to the airport ...it was painless! We also took the opportunity to take 2 tours with him. His knowledge is amazing, and the time spent with him was like being with a friend. We do hope to return- to Porto and to RiverView. Thank you Pedro.

Amazing view from this spacious, comfortable apartment

We enjoyed our stay at this spacious apartment with an incredible view of the city! We appreciated all Pedro's notes about sites and restaurants worth visiting, and found the keyless entry super convenient. It's easy to walk everywhere (if you don't mind a few hills and steps), and a nice quiet retreat after days exploring the main town. We had a great dinner at the restaurant above the apartment, Blini, and a delicious breakfast at the 7G Roasters cafe in the neighborhood just below. Thanks so much for a lovely stay!

Fantastic location with amazing views, not quite as described though.

Apartment is in a fantastic location with wonderful views overlooking the river and Porto town. Short walk down hill to the Dom Luis bridge so not far from the centre. The apartment is down three flights of steps so not suitable for everybody. It is spacious with comfortable beds and a good shower but no air conditioning as described, only a portable unit without the hose so hot air blows out the back, defeating the object. Can be very noisy at times due to apartments next door, above and below, can hear furniture being moved and doors slamming. The outside areas are good for having a drink with fantastic views but are not private. There is a car park nearby costing €56 per week. Pedro was very helpful and check in was easy.

Diese wirklich schöne und geräumige Wohnung ist mit allem ausgestattet, was man benötigt. Die Lage ist phänomenal - der Blick auf Porto ist postkartenmäßig! Hinzu kommt, das Pedro sich sehr viel Zeit für die Begrüßung genommen und uns ganz genau erklärt hat, was wir in Porto so machen können/sollten....,was es wo gibt ... Und er stand uns die ganze Zeit über WhatsApp, Telefon oder E-Mail für Fragen zur Verfügung und hat uns geholfen. Also rundherum eine Wohnung, die wir nun weiterempfehlen können.

Très bon choix pour un séjour à Porto

Appartement loué pour 3 nuits, très propre et bénéficiant d'une magnifique vue sur Porto. L'accueil de Pedro est irréprochable, merci pour tous ses conseils de visite sur Porto et même sur d'autres villes de notre voyage... Un parking peut être loué à cinquante mètres pour 5€ la journée, ce qui est appréciable dans ces ruelles étroites où il est difficile de se garer. La ville est accessible à pied par le magnifique pont enjambant le Douro. Le rapport qualite prix est excellent. Nous recommandons cet appartement.

Magical Vacation

We were a group of 6 adult Canadians, going to Porto to walk the Portuguese Camino Way to Santiago de Compostela Spain. Pedro met our group at the airport and delivered us to both rental apartments. After a long flight it was great to meet the man from the River Place apartments, on time with a welcoming smile.The apartments are centrally located on the opposite side of the river from Cais da Ribeira, allowing a magical view of Porto under the shimmering lights. Our five days unfolded with Pedro supplying tours to Fatima, Douro Valley wineries and a great day with a long walk through his city Porto - a great warm up for the next part of our journey. The apartments, food recommendations and highlights of Porto are as described on the website. The one word to describe our our experience with the apartment and Pedro was magical, and way beyond our expectations. We are planning to do a Camino Coastal walk in 2017 and plan to spend time with Pedro at his River Place apartments.

Séjour inoubliables §§§

C'est la première fois que nous partons avec Homeway et nous sommes prêt à renouveler cette expérience grâce à Pedro et à son sens de l'hospitalité ! Pedro est venu tout sourire nous accueillir à l'aéroport de Porto puis à commencer à nous parler de Porto sur le trajet jusqu'à son appartement. Ce dernier est très spacieux meublé avec de magnifiques mobiliers anciens... on est vraiment plongé dans l'ambiance du vieux Porto historique! Pedro a ensuite pris le temps de nous exposer carte à l'appui tous les curiosités de la ville à découvrir et les endroits où bien se restaurer ! Il nous as laissé ses coordonnées et nous pouvions le joindre à tout moment dans la semaine en cas de problème. Nous n'avons pas eu à faire le ménage en fin de séjour. Splendide panorama de Porto depuis l'appartement où les nuits sont très calmes. Pedro nous a également raccompagné à l'aéroport à la fin du séjour. Encore merci Pedro pour ce séjour inoubliable !!!!

Wonderful

Just returned from a stay in Porto at Riverplace 2. The apartment is exactly as described and was plenty of room for four of us (2 couples). The kitchen was well stocked and the apartment very clean and comfortable. Pedro was excellent from beginning to end, responding quickly to emails and ensuring that everything went well with our visit. I highly recommend this property.

Good Quality Property, Well Located, Helpful Owner

We spent a very pleasant weekend in Porto staying at River Place 2. The apartment is very well located within easy walking distance of the river and all its diversions. tout d'abord merci Pedro pour l'accueil que tu nous a réservé en venant nous recevoir a l'aéroport . Nous avons beaucoup apprécié tous tes bons conseils et ton sens de l'hospitalité . Vous ne serez pas déçu par les appartements (nous avions loué les deux car nous étions trois couples) la vue est superbe des deux et le soir c'est tout simplement magique......la location est trés propre et nous avons apprécié le fait de laisser l'appartement en l'état,des femmes de ménage viennent faire le nettoyage à votre départ . Le ménage est gratuit.Pour aller dans le centre historique vous n'avez que le pont a traverser.5 minutes a pied. PAS BESOIN DE LOUER UNE VOITURE Porto est tres bien desservi et pour visiter les villages environnant(Braga Coimbra Barcelos Guimares) les trains partant de la gare.vous y emménent pour 6 euros 50 aller retour. Porto est magique!!!!!

Férias perfeitas

Ótima localização, a vista para o Rio D´ouro nos inspirou! Fácil acesso à ribeira onde encontram-se vários restaurantes, lojas, caves dos vinhos do Porto e os principais passeios turísticos da região beira rio (teleférico, cruzeiro, yellow bus e moto p/ 4 lugares). Subindo a Rua (5min) temos acesso a estação General Torres onde pode-se tomar o comboio (metrô) para o centro histórico de Porto. Em 5min chegamos à estação de São Bento, principal estação de trem da região norte, lá tomamos o trem para Guimarães e em 1h chegamos à cidade onde nasceu Portugal! O Apartamento é aconchegante e confortável para cinco pessoas e encontra-se exatamente como mostram as fotos publicadas. O único desconforto são as escadas pois precisamos de ajuda com as malas. Entretanto não foi problema, os portugueses são ótimos! em especial o Sr. Pedro que nos alugou o apartamento. Extremamente educado e solícito, no chek in nos explicou tudo sobre a região, nos forneceu um mapa e pontuou todos os passeios turísticos imperdíveis; durante todo o período que ficamos se manteve disponível para o caso de qualquer eventualidade. Resumindo... a estadia em Vila Nova de Gaia e o sr. Pedro nos surpreendeu e ficamos encantados!

Wonderful holiday

We stayed at Pedro’s River Place apartment in September 2012. We had a wonderful holiday there and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Pedro as a host, the River Place as a base and Porto as a holiday destination in which to relax, walk, explore and enjoy the sunshine and the history. Location – The apartment is located at a relaxed stroll of perhaps 200 metres from the Dom Luis bridge which is central to the operation of the city. The slightly elevated position offers sensational views overlooking the port cellars and the Ribeira. From dawn to dusk the light casts different shadows across the panorama. In the evening the twinkle of city lights merges with the after dusk twilight. It’s very beautiful to observe. From the apartment there is easy access to a vast array of port cellars, Dom Luis and the other bridges, Ribeira, Metro, cafes, bars, river bank strolls, parks. View – Stunning, across terracotta roof tops of port cellars on the banks of the Douro to Ribeira north side with Porto towering above. Feral cat family comically playing out a life of sleeping, resting and relaxing on roof tops opposite. Facilities – the apartment is fully equipped: Satellite TV, fast Wifi (20Mbps!), sleeps 5 easily, quaintly furnished in local style, no IKEA. Kitchen - large and fully equipped, electric hob, fridge, micro wave oven Comfort – very comfy, cool even without AC, ample soft seating, ample dining facilities. Bright, airy atmosphere. Noise – very little intrusion. Security – we had no issues at the apartment or anywhere in Porto. We consider the apartment good value for money. Owner – very helpful and reliable. Pedro was waiting for us on arrival at the airport, welcomed us to the apartment with a decanter of port and a comprehensive knowledge of the city, and took us back to the airport for our departure flight. A very genial and helpful host. We hope to return to the apartment and unhesitatingly recommend it.

Un super séjour à Porto

Nous avons passé 4 jours en famille dans cet appartement (4 adultes) et sommes très satisfait. Super accueil de Pedro qui nous attendait à l'aéroport. L'appartement est spacieux, clean, lumineux et très bien situé. La vue sur la Porto est incroyable. 10 minutes a pied suffisent pour rejoindre les cafés et restaurants. A recommander.
