Perfect spot for our visiting father-in law!

We rented this condo for our father-in-law and his health aide who were visiting from out of state. Perfect location, spacious and wonderful ocean views. They had a fabulous time!

The main shower unit needs to be scrubbed as the grout was dirty. An inconvenience was most of the paths to the beach had steps which made taking a beach wagon very difficult. Ramps could easily be added. Lastly the amenities listed on the website weren’t correct. It didn’t list a washer/dryer and we planned accordingly for a week’s stay, but we were surprised it had as one m.

Very nice stay

Love the closeness to the beach. There were lots of sea shells. Beautiful place to stay. The TVs in the bedrooms didn't work. We let the reality know tvs was fixed but never got a remote for master bedroom. Love the shower to except it had a step up to get in and you have to step down to get out. Had a great view. We all had a great time.

Great Location

The location is perfect and the pictures of the condo are spot on. The only negative comment I have is the thermostat could not be adjusted and stayed on 72 degrees. My husband and I did not sleep well at night because it was too hot. I would recommend installing a fan in each room to help circulate the air flow.

The staff at Island Realty were great. (Thank you Aine O'Brien!). We liked the proximity to Mount Pleasant and Charleston and took the opportunity to walk the Ravanel Bridge (great views from up there). Our only concern was the inconsistent WiFi and cell phone reception. We have not experienced this problem in other units.Overall, a great holiday location and a superb place to just relax and enjoy the beach!

Reviewer Comments: The proximity to the beach and pool is wonderful, but we were disappointed by the lack of love and attention to this unit elsewhere. With a little effort in amenities, this has potential to be a wonderful spot. Having basic things like good cutlery and extra towels would go a long way. The unit was not well cleaned upon our arrival either. Almost all of the dishes we pulled out of the cabinets were filthy and needed to be hand washed before use.

Thanksgiving Stay

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Nice property. Loved the landscaping, especially the live oaks. The kitchen is fully stocked, enough for a family Thanksgiving dinner. Internet and cell phone service is spotty to poor. Beds are comfortable. Second bath is small for two adults (second BR has two twins). Master bath is huge. There is a washer and dryer.Large balcony, Ocean View. There is beach even at high tide on this part of the island. We had some issues to report on maintenance but Island Realty was not available due to the holiday. You can leave a voicemail but they aren’t going to fix unless it’s a real emergency. Generally we would be ok with this, but the extremely high rental cost for IOP properties seems like we would get better service - or even better drop the prices.

This was a disgustingly dirty property. I have tried to send you photos of how filthy this unit was. My family has stayed on Isle Of Palms, Wild Dunes, for 25 years. We have stayed in any manner of accommodations, houses, town houses, apartments, etc. This unit was filthy. I have tried to send you photos but I can’t send them to this email address. Thank goodness I was there with family. Otherwise, I would’ve died of embarrassment if I had brought friends. It was truly disgustingly dirty, the linens were not even up to par with a super eight motel, incredibly laughable with the unit listed as a luxury apartment. Very little amenities were supplied for cleaning, but that stands to reason because the place was disgustingly dirty. This was not due to the weekly cleaning people. I don’t think this place has ever had a deep cleaning in its entire history. I would appreciate sharing the photos because it was gross. We had traveled from Texas, New Jersey, and North Carolina. We did not want to have our trip interrupted by having to move or getting booted out of the place because it was unsatisfactory. This makes me question how VRBO can advertise something like this as luxury. You should take this property off the market or reduce the price or at least tell people how gross it is.

First time in IoP

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We enjoyed the location of the Shipwatch development, a beachfront condo is tough to beat. But when you pay top dollar for a rental, there are certain expectations that should be met, and unfortunately, A 204 fell short. It was not a single item, but a series of small things that when combined made for a less enjoyable vacation. There were no door mats to wipe our feet when entering the property, so walking barefoot on the tile floors made our feet black. The kitchen light didn’t work, the dishwasher leaked water all over the floor the only time we used it (before checkout). The single towel bar in the bathroom was falling off and unusable, the faucets in the master bath were loose, and there was a leak in the drywall above the master shower, so we avoided using this. Both irons were leaking and put rust stains on my white shirt, and the Air Conditioner was very noisy. The WiFi didn’t extend to the balcony, rendering one of the best features of this unit off limits for my daily vacation ritual of checking emails and attending to business. Wild Dunes is a gated community and we would like to explore it further, we didn’t partake of any amenities nor the restaurants. However the latter seemed to have many mixed reviews. We encountered several folks driving golf carts on the roads, and even a few youths behind the wheel in the dark which can be unsettling. The security seems to do its job and I was reminded by a guard that residents with bar code stickers using the right lane get preference. He didn’t have to tell me that, just keep the gate down because I’m not driving through it. We enjoyed the Shipwatch pool area and even met a couple owners on the beach who were very welcoming. But the best feature of this unit was the proximity to the beach and after all, that’s why we plan this kind of vacation.Overall, we would return to Isle of Palms, but this owner and Island Realty need to up their game to keep folks retur

Would not recommend

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Rented this unit based on reviews which were good. Unfortunately it did not live up to those. The whole unit needs extensive updates such as painted walls, baseboards, bath fixtures and needs. There was peeling paint, the walls were all scuffed in many places not just a few. The master bath shower had no door sweep so water ran onto the floor during a shower. The hall bath had mildew growing on the ceiling. There was what appeared to be blood stains on a blanket, comforter, and a couple throw pillows. The curtains were stained in several places and not easy to pull shut. The tile floors grout was dirty looking in places. The comforter in the master had bleach like stains on it. I have stayed in several condos through the years in IOP and this is by far the worst. The location is great. So all in all I can not recommend this at this time.
