The property, house and surround, were perfect for us. We loved the water views from every room, the kitchen with everything we needed, the comfortable beds, the easy access to the ocean with our kayak, walking and biking on Reach Rd. It really is a splendid spot. We want to return!

Lovely location on the water, and convenient to everything on Deer Isle while easy on and off the island. An airy, comfortable and clean house. All bedrooms face the sunrise. We had everything we needed for an enjoyable week and the house was perfect for four adults, each with their own sleeping space. The owners were also very responsive to any questions and were a pleasure to deal with. Highly recommended!

Magical Deer Isle

We loved staying in the quiet, pristine area. The house was perfectly described on the site. My college-aged children were very happy to each have their own bedroom with a queen-sized bed, and their own bathroom - coin toss for the best room not necessary!

Wonderful Retreat -

Beautiful setting, comfortable home, nice location, interesting artwork throughout the home. Fun adventures nearby and excellent food to be found not too far away. A minor mix up with the check in, but quickly and smoothly handled by the owner. Suggest that guests try to arrive before dark. The directions to the house are excellent; however, the area is rural and heavily wooded so it is dark.

Beautiful beach front property

Our family of five had a great stay at Gray Ledge. A beautiful home right on the water and so close to great beaches (like the Causeway beach) Bedrooms are comfortable and spacious. Only limitation was an absence of basic non-perishable kitchen supplies like olive oil, sugar, etc. We didn’t plan to buy and bring all these items which really limited our ability to cook meals at the house. If you stay here plan to bring everything you need beyond spices.

Eggemogin

We stayed at Eggemogin Reach property for a family reunion of sorts. We would recommend without hesitation. The property was well represented on the listing. Waterfront with great sunrise views. Very peaceful and private. Very clean and well furnished. We also got a call from the owner a few days before we arrived just to make sure the house was set up to our needs and to offer some advice for the local attractions. Very helpful. And we really enjoyed the area, beautiful, not crowded. Locals were very nice.

Comfortable house in a private location with cove views

Six of us (three couples) had a very enjoyable experience at Grey Ledge. We chose this house as it has three bathrooms and three bedrooms. .The best feature of the house was the open concept kitchen, dining and living rooms that featured a whole wall of windows with gorgeous views of the sunrises and Thompson cove. The kitchen is large and well equipped. The spacious house is very private down a dirt road surrounded by woods. Also close to the bridge that takes you off the island. Our host Laura was very helpful and suggested that we visit the quaint fishing village of Stonington on Deer Isle. It is well worth a visit!

Nice house, lovely property, few shortcomings

The house is clean, spacious, comfortable and well located with a lovely view. Upon our arrival, the owner was quick to respond to questions. We stayed in the home for seven weeks and were responsible for disposing of our garbage at the local dump for the duration of our stay - very disappointing and not the norm for extended rentals. While the internet service was good with fast speeds, the router was very finicky and required rebooting multiple times a week. There is a separate building on the property, right in front of the main house, which we assumed was a detached garage. About halfway through our stay, we realized someone was staying there. We were never told there could be other people staying on the property, it is not mentioned in the listing nor is the building shown in photos. We found the situation uncomfortable.

Great location for fans of cycling, kayaking, and hiking

We three couples have vacationed at this Deer Isle home for two consecutive years. We appreciate the quiet, private location as well as the proximity of excellent opportunities for outdoor recreation. The house is clean, spacious. and comfortable. Thank you, George and Laura!

Great accommodations and location!

We had a great time in this quiet and spacious house, with great views and amazing walks and bike rides. Less than 20 minutes from Sand Beach and even faster drive to Stonington for great food and activities. The home owners were very friendly, kind and polite. I would hiighly recommend this getaway to relax and recharge- thanks again!

Perfect Fall Vacation

Our group of six had a delightful week. We found this house to be very quiet, private, and well equipped. It was a great starting point for each day's kayaking, bicycling, and hiking adventures.

Spectacular

You simply can't beat the location. Deer Isle is an amazing place. Just the right mix of tranquility and tourist infrastructure. Love the fact that there are no stoplights for 45 minutes in any direction. The house is perfect for a family. Well appointed. Nice yard for playing with the kids. Only piece of advice for those who need a dark room to sleep - bring a sleeping mask as the Eastern sun will get you up bright and early! And t's a beautiful sunrise over Eggemoggin Reach. The house also has a mooring - we rented a nice 19' Boston Whaler from Buck's Marina for most of our stay and had a wonderful time on the reach and travelling to MDI and Castine. In short, this was a perfect getaway. George and Laura are very helpful hosts.

A beautiful location

The house was very nice and had all the convenience of home. Beautiful views and an excellent location for being close to our family. The bedrooms are comfortable and plenty of bathrooms for the 6 of us that stayed in the house. I recommend this property to anyone looking for peace and quiet.
