Maison du Calme - Feel at home while you are away

Extremely well equipped and spacious gite in a tranquil setting in beautiful Brittany. Large open plan ground floor living, well equipped kitchen with integrated fridge & dishwasher, dining for 6, comfy lounge with log burner, separate cloakroom and utility area, with washing machine, freezer and microwave. Sleeping 4 people in 2 ensuite bedrooms, 1 with kingsize bed & large shower room, the other a twin bedroom with bath & shower over (a child aged up to 5/6 can be accommodated on a small single bed (160cm x 70cm) We also have 2 travel cots, 1 suitable for newborns. Both bedrooms have electric shutters. The gite overlooks the large, south-west facing, garden. Outside there is a covered deck for al fresco dining and a BBQ area. The garden has uninterrupted views of a small forest with various seating areas, extra seating and garden games etc available on request. We supply all bed linen and towels, including beach towels. PLEASE NOTE: a car is essential as we are in countryside.

Absolutely the best vacation rental

The gite was the most well equipped, well laid out home. It lacked for nothing. The welcome basket was beyond belief - chocked full of breakfast stuff, snacks and wine. The refrig had more wine, milk, butter, etc. Jayne and Scott thought of everything you could possibly want or need. The location is serene with beautifully maintained gardens with flowers everywhere. Most of Brittany's highlights are within a short drive of the gite. Jayne and Scott are prefect hosts who very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable about the area and its history. We enjoyed our stay immensely and now consider Jayne and Scott newfound friends. We look forward to a return visit!

What a gem in the lovely Brittany countryside!

It's an impeccable and so well equipped, lovely cottage with a garden with perfect view into the woods on the other side of the small river!The owners are the perfect hosts and helped with any request we had.As a welcome gift they had filled up the frige with lots of goodies which everyone will highly appreciate after a longer drive (even a couple of ice cold beers!).This was the first house we ever rented (and we rent a lot!) which classifies as "full option"! The was nothing we could think of as missing! From soaps to napkins, from towels to tablets for the dishwasher, from sharp knives to good cutting boards and so on!It is tastefully decorated as one would imagine a british cottage (....yes, in Brittany!), has a comfortable big bed (we did not try the others ) and good chairs and sofa in the living room. With "our" good weather, the outside deck and the BBQ was fantastic and we enjoyed many evenings.Certainly the one with you, Jammyne and Scott! Thanks again for the treat! Within 40 to 60 min. You will find lots of different attractions, like beaches, tiny villages, markets or start right from the house on a great and lonely countryside and forest hike or bicycle tour. We spend two lovely weeks there and highly recommend this cottage!

Vacances dans la Maison du Calme

Nous remercions Jayne et Scott pour leur excellent accueil et toutes les belles attentions apportées tout au long de notre séjour. Notre petite fille de 3 ans avait tout pour s'occuper, avec des jeux d'extérieur et d'intérieur. la décoration et tout l'équipement sont de très bon gout et de qualité. vous pouvez y aller les yeux fermés.

Un petit coin de paradis calme en pleine nature

Nous avons passé un séjour très agréable au milieu des arbres, fleurs et oiseaux. Le gîte est superbe. Pas mal de belles visites dans la région à condition d'avoir un véhicule pour se déplacer. Les propriétaires sont charmants, très accueillants, serviables tout en restant discrets. Je recommande si vous cherchez le calme et la nature :-)

Wir hatten eine wunderbare Zeit in der Bretagne. Unsere Gastgeber haben alles dafür getan, das wir uns wohlgefühlt haben. Sowohl der Garten wir auch das Haus, samt Interieur waren perfekt. Wir werden wieder kommen.

Scott et Jayne sont des hotes bienveillants et font tout pour rendre notre séjour le plus agréable possible. Logement très propre, joliment décoré avec tout le necessaire. Endroit très calme et reposant. Idéal pour une famille ou 4 adultes mais possibilité de louer pour 2 familles ou plusieurs amis se connaissant. Pour cela contacter l'hôte.

We are from Hampshire, England and have been holidaying in France for 37 years. Following redundancy we decided to make the long held dream a reality and buy a home that we could share with people who wanted to escape their busy working lives and enjoy the beautiful Brittany countryside. Apart from the odd tractor, it is away from the noise but within easy reach of all that beautiful Brittany has to offer.

We were lucky to find, and move into, our beautiful home in March 2016. It provided us with our home and a lovely gite . The location is central and gives us the peace, tranquility and the way of life that we were hankering after. The roads around the area are quiet and there is an abundance of wildlife. What more is there to say...... except please join us, you will be very welcome!

You can enjoy lovely walks, cycling and bird watching or just laze in the peaceful garden We are 3km from Kernascledan with church, small restaurant and home to the La Maison de la Chauve-souris (Bat Discovery Centre, unique to France). 4km from Lignol with 2 restaurants, one also does takeaway pizzas (opening hours variable for both), artisan bakers and post office. 6km from the medieval village of Guemene-sur-Scorff with bakers, shops, cafe’s, bars, banks, and large supermarket. 35km from Pontivy with plenty of shops, café’s, restaurants and most of the major supermarkets. 36km from Lanester/Lorient with large Geant shopping gallery, surrounded by various shops in the Z.C (Zone Commercial) Our location means we are within easy reach of lovely beaches, zoos, ports and lakes. Details of shopping, eating, and places to visit are provided in the 2 gite books.
