A 15mins downhill walk will take you to the start of the old town but local shops, banks and supermarkets are within 5 mins walk of the villa as is the bus station and the popular ‘Thursday’ market where you can get weekly shop of fresh vegetables and fruit, fish, cheese etc as well as clothing, shoes and gifts. Also the villa is only a 10min walk to the trendy cafes, bars & restaurants of Kalamar Rd should you fancy a change from Kalkan town & harbour.

The roads and paths are cobbled and hilly but taxis are abundant and cheap. The local dolmus buses can be used to get to sites and larger towns outside of Kalkan.

The variety and standard of Restaurants and Cafes are amazing in Kalkan - a foodies paradise! Exclusive Beach clubs are dotted around the bay which can be accessed by the free and frequent transit boats from the harbour and are a great way to spend the day relaxing and swimming in the gorgeous turquoise waters . There is also the local shingle beach and a beach club beside the harbour in the town. Patara beach offers amazing ruins and a stunning sandy beach. The daily boat trips run from the harbour provide a great day out - well recommended. The mountain areas and villages also offer different scenery and experiences - try the trout at the nearby village restaurants of Islamlar.
