We live close by and go down there to clean or to check things out and find it so peaceful and inviting that we stay for hours just sitting around enjoying the solitude. I love the place.

Thank you for staying with us and for your review. There are a lot of steps and you are correct, if you have small children; they need to be closely supervised. Sorry about the internet but I had been there before your stay and the internet was working. We recently bought this property and you were one of our first guests. I had switched all utilities to my name and all was good until the former owner called to take the service out of his name and someone at Windstream shut the service off without noticing that it had already been changed over. I had someone come out from Windstream and they said that the signal was strong and that everything was working properly and we have had no other problems with the internet.

This guest expressed no concerns to me until I contacted her about the fact that they drove into the front yard with what appeared to be a truck and left ruts 6 to 8 inches deep. This was not just a mistake where they didn't realize that the soil was soft and their vehicle would cause damage because they did it twice leaving two 8 inch deep ruts which crossed each other and each was 10 to 15 feet long. They also left the front door and back doors unlocked. They mentioned a cup in the sink. I must admit that I brought in a cup of water when I came in to check the unit and must have left it in the sink. The guest mentioned pans that were black inside; the previous guest had burned something in two of the large pots. I was able to get them clean but the white interior of the pans did become discolored but not black. I didn't have time to replace them before this guest arrived but have bought others but the pans in place were not dirty and were perfectly useable and we will probably use them at home. She mentioned mouse droppings but I did not see any having taken everything out of the cabinets where the pans were and under the sink as well as the silverware drawer and found none. The guest also mentioned that the smoke detectors where chirping but these units are electric with battery back up and I have never heard them chirp while I was there but I did put in new batteries even though the old ones were only about 3 months old and batteries usually last over a year. She mentioned being zapped by a lamp, the unit has arc fault breakers and will trip at the slightest arc and no breaker was tripped so being zapped is virtually impossible. They did however loose the switch knob on the lamp in the master bedroom. I think that this guest was disrespectful, damaged my property and thought that they would punish me for calling them on it. I would never knowingly rent to them again. We take pride in our units and appreciate constructive suggestions but retribution is not appreciated.
