Great location and just 15 minute walk to the Royal mile. very convenient having Sainsbury grocery underneath the flat.Great restaurants nearby and just 15 minute walk to Dean River.Karen the host is one of the best and we will stay here again next time we come to the fringe.

Our stay at this rental was one of the most stressful travel experiences we’ve ever had. The unit was badly misrepresented and in poor condition from the moment we arrived. We found a hole in the kitchen wall, a partially repaired hole in the bedroom ceiling, stained quilts, damaged furniture, mold in the refrigerator, and several fixtures that didn’t work properly. The shower controls were reversed, the lamp switch was jammed behind the dresser, and multiple cabinets were falling apart. We also had no instructions for the digital stove, dishwasher, washer/dryer, thermostat, or TV, and despite asking repeatedly, none were ever provided. A representative entered the unit twice without our prior knowledge, even though they had my phone number and could have easily called or texted beforehand, which made us feel uncomfortable, unsafe, and left us feeling that our privacy had been violated. When the rental owners removed the stained quilts for cleaning, we were left without replacements overnight and couldn’t operate the heat. VRBO support was extremely difficult to work with, and every call required re‑explaining the entire situation. Several agents promised follow‑ups that never happened. After two weeks of trying to resolve everything, we were left feeling ignored and unsupported. Reserve Apartments, who are the rental owners, took no responsibility or accountability for the misrepresentation of this unit, and based on our experience, THIS RENTAL SHOULD BE AVOIDED AT ALL COSTS

Edinburgh Fringe

Lovely flat with all the amenities in a great location close to all attractions. We used it as a base for The Fringe and had a great time.

Edinburgh Christmas weekend

We came as a family for a pre-Christening weekend and had the most amazing stay in this very central beautiful apartment. We had everything we needed and could reach anywhere in the centre with just a short walk . The apartment was beautifully and tastefully decorated and we very much enjoyed our stay

Great location

Great stay in a perfect location. Only issue is stairs. Having said that it must be stated that virtually every rental apartment we have stayed in all over Europe has a flight or 2 of stairs! This apartment still deserves 5 stars!

Excellent location and great apartment

The apartment is in a excellent location right on the edge of the New Town and is a big and comfortable space. The minor downsides were that soap wasn't provided which was a bit odd and inconvenient and the cleaning could have been better (i.e. bathroom drawers hadn't been cleaned), but everything else was great

Great Place in Edinburgh

You cant do any better than this flat! Great location in Edinburgh. Right on the tram line which makes an easy 30 minutes from the airport . Also - easily walkable to many sights and convenient to grocery and restaurants and pubs. The flat itself is very spacious and clean. Two large size bedrooms and bathrooms and a very large common space to plan out your day in this magical city! Proprety management team was super easy to work with and very helpful.

Beautiful flat in excellent location

Great flat in brilliant city centre location which made walking around Edinburgh very easy. Plus lots of great transport connections. The only room for improvement would be to add some sofa beds to give parties of 4 unrelated/non-coupled adults wishing to stay in the flat the flexibility of having a separate bed each as there are only two beds (although large) in the two bedrooms meaning this rental is best suited for 4 people who would be happy to share the two beds in each room.

Very quiet in a transportation hub

Trams, buses to everywhere stop within a block of the apartment making it very convenient to get around town or easily Glasgow. Great grocery chain downstairs, surrounded by great variety of restaurants. Double pained windows shut out most of the noise

Great location

This place is very good if you want to get to airport. The tram goes right past it and it’s only a short walk from the nearest stop. The combination washer drier in the apartment is not very good and pods were not provided. One small load is a two day process as drying takes forever. Great place and great location just don’t plan on catching up on your laundry

Great apartment if you can manage 3 flights of steep stairs

Great location and a lovely apartment perfectly presented. Plenty of space and well appointed. One flight of steps in description is misleading as you have modern steps to the front door but once in to get to the living areas you have more narrow and steep staircase. Adds to character but a serious obstacle if you have luggage. Overall very happy

How more central EDI can you get?

We were able to walk everywhere! The apartment was perfect. Taxis aren’t allowed on this street, but they’ll do it if you hurry. Couldn’t get the street box number to work, but a lovely man named Francis helped us in. The big street windows are perfect for catching the sun. The grocery store below has everything you’ll need.

Shaking it up at the Shandwick!

The place is a comfortable & relaxing place. It is convenient to many of Edinburgh attractions. There also is a grocery store next door. It’s a busy street but they have double pane windows that keep the noise down If you plan on driving or renting a car just know that it’s about $35 dollars a day to park over night at the NCP which isn’t all that far away. From the time we entered the place it offered an “wow” feeling. Make sure you’re ok with stairs. But the spiral staircase entry was amazing! Coming from the states we felt, safe & secure here and kept it under the radar.

Friends weekend in Auld Reekie

The apartment was just what we needed. As described, it is spacious and well-appointed. It is very well situated close to the heart of Edinburgh's New Town but also with easy access to the castle and the Royal Mile. There is a tram stop only a short walk away making it handy for those arriving in the city from the airport. The apartment is just above a Sainsbury's store so that made self-catering very straightforward. The facilities were just what we needed. There is plenty of space in which to unwind. The bedrooms are a good size and the beds were very comfortable. The communication with the property manager was first rate, prompt responses to questions and small matters quickly resolved. We are sure you will enjoy your stay at this wonderful apartment. We certainly hope to return.

Nice, spacious flat close to Edinburgh Castle

My wife and a friend of ours spent four nights in this spacious flat on the west side of Edinburgh Castle, about a half mile walk away (with quite a climb in elevation). There was no "meet and greet" service provided, and the property uses another service besides Vrbo for most contact and other matters. There are about 50 stairs from the street level to the living area, with no lift/elevator. Beware that "self-catering" means there is no soap, detergent, shampoo, paper towels, etc. Closest parking is just below the castle, about £40 per day. This section of Shandwick Place does not allow private cars, only buses and taxis. The Sainsbury's store right next door is very nice and well stocked. Although the flat is on a major street, it was very quiet. We truly enjoyed Edinburgh and would definitely consider this place for a return visit.
