What a great place for a family vacation. Access to fly fishing couldn’t be better as the property is located directly on the Gallatin River. Proximity to Big Sky is excellent .West entrance to Yellowstone is reachable as well. Terry and Carolyn were great hosts . They were there for us if we needed them. Looking to go back again next year ! Highly recommend this guest cottage.

Absolutely beautiful home

We stay in the Big Sky area every year and this was our favorite place. The guest house was beyond our expectations. It was private and right on the Gallatin River. The home was clean and inviting. Very spacious, lots of room, incredibly clean. Close enough to Big Sky, without the traffic it can sometimes have. We very much enjoyed our stay. Bed in the master bedroom was super comfortable. We loved our stay and can’t wait to come back. Terry and Carolyne were perfect hosts.

Our favorite place to stay anywhere

We have stayed here 5 or 6 times and always relax and cherish the stay. Super comfortable, right next to the river and very spacious. We love the hot tub and back deck. High quality bedding and everything needed to make a good meal. Very nice hosts. You can not go wrong by staying here!

Amazing property

The Guesthouse is a gem! Location is perfect for all activities we did and the accommodations were just as advertised. We had plenty of room and enjoyed the deck and hot tub as well. Carolyn and Terry were very gracious hosts as well. We’ll definitely be back!

Everything about this house is great. Comfy beds, nice dining table to gather at, and a great living room with woodstove for end of day. Great, spotless hot tub made for some incredible stargazing. Carolyn and Terry are the most awesome hosts on all of VRBO. I could go on and on.................

Amazing property

We loved our 4th of July week visit to this beautiful home. Well appointed kitchen and three bathrooms were plenty for our group of five adults. We also enjoyed grilling on the deck and using the hot tub after a tough day of hiking some of Big Sky's challenging trails. Centrally located for all your outdoor activities. We took day trips to Yellowstone and also enjoyed an awesome rafting adventure down the Gallatin River.

True Montana experience

We had a great time! And our hosts made everything flawless during our stay. The amenities of the property are exactly as described in the listing. Everything is on hand to make your stay delightful. The scenery is over the top and the location is perfectly situated for day trips to Yellowstone, Big Sky and other wonderful "eye candy" places. The home was spotless and beautifully maintained. As we sat out on the deck during our first day.....the four of us were planning our return or next trip. We had a wonderful stay!!

Beautiful home, beautiful location, awesome hosts!

My family of 4 brought along the grandparents and we all had a wonderful time enjoying this home, it as perfect! We had many fun nights around the dining room table playing cards and it was even cool enough to have a fire one night, what a treat! We loved the river out back, my boys spent hours building boats out of sticks and leaves and letting them "set sail" while my husband fished in the river every day! We loved the deck, bbq, and coffee and wine while listening to the sounds of the river. Carolyn and Terri where delightful hosts and were so wonderful answering our questions, it was a pleasure meeting them and staying at their beautiful home. We hope to come back soon!

Absolutely Perfect!

We can't say enough about this property! It is a lovely guest house that is well supplied with everything you may need or want. The location is also perfect!!! It was so comfortable and we loved listening to the Gallatin River as we drifted off to sleep each night. The Gallatin is just feet away off the beautiful deck and we enjoyed sitting there each evening...watching the water and looking for wildlife. We love fly fishing and were able to catch and release some nice trout right in this spot! The icing on the cake was that the Hosts, Terry & Carolyn, were so welcoming, informative and helpful. We spent just a short amount of time with them and left feeling like we have new friends. We are so appreciative that they shared their piece of paradise with us!

Lovely winter haven

Our family of 6 came over the Christmas holidays and spent our time downhill skiing at Big Sky (20 min drive from the house), miles of beautiful cross country skiing at Lone Mountain Ranch, hiking, and one day of snowmobiling in Yellowstone (50 min drive). On a rest day we drove into Bozeman to shop, see a movie and go to the indoor climbing gym. So much to do. The house is nicely situated off the road so you have a feeling of privacy and seclusion, and the back deck is right on the Gallatin River. Hot tub on the deck is fantastic: gentle snowfall on your head or millions of stars on a clear night. The house is spacious and clean, love the Montana decor. Has everything you need for a fabulous family vacation.

Wonderful

Great place to explore all the amazing experiences Big Sky and West Yellowstone offers! The home is spread out and our family of three generations had more than enough space to unwind without bumping into each other, The grandkids loved playing in the snow and all the adults fell in love with the beauty of Montana. The kitchen had everything you could need and we loved dining in a couple times in front of the fire and sharing our days of fun and adventure. The hosts were more than accommodating and when asked about sledding for the grandkids delivered some sleds within a few minutes ....wow is all we can say! Can't wait to return!!! Fabulous property

Our party consisted of 4 adults. We arrived June 4, 2017 staying for 6 days at this special home. The home is spacious and very comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed relaxing on the deck with our coffee in the morning and then in the hot tub in the evening - both with the sound of the Gallatin River as it flowed by. It doesn't get any better! Carolyn and Terry's attention to detail is reflected in all aspects of the house. They responded immediately to any question we had. We booked a full day tour of Yellowstone and took the lift tour to the top of Lone Mountain as well as some short driving trips to check out the wildlife. It is the perfect spot to experience the grandeur of the Big Sky area. We would definitely recommend this property.

AMAZING!

We had a wonderful time at the O'Neill guesthouse. The pictures do not do it justice! Lots of family memories made. Despite the rain. We still had a great time. We traveled back and forth to Yellowstone several times. Great hikes and lots of site seeing both in Yellowstone and Big Sky. Hot tub was amazing, nice and relaxing after a long day. The calming sounds of the river made it even more relaxing. The house it self was very spacious with great amenities. Lots of board games, popcorn maker with supplies, nicely equipped kitchen, great beds and comfy sheets.They even supplied bear spray! This was our first time to the area, our family vacations usually are to the beach....so glad the kids asked to do something different this year! Thank you so much Terry and Carolyn for having us.

This home exceeded our expectations!!

We can't say enough about this home! This was our first time visiting Big Sky and we couldn't have chosen a better spot. Carolyn and Terry were such gracious hosts and were so helpful in helping us plan our family vacation. We stayed busy with white water rafting (Montana Whitewater), fly-fishing, lots of hiking, and a trip to Yellowstone. Our kids zip-lined at Big Sky Resort while my husband and I hiked some of the trails on the resort. We had 5 adults and 3 boys (15, 14, and 11)staying in the house. There was plenty of room for everyone and the beds were all so comfortable. The kitchen was very well stocked with utensils and cookware. We grilled out on the deck a few nights and ate out one night at the Riverhouse Saloon. The hot tub is brand new and is perfect to sit out under the stars after dark. Also, the cool, dry weather gave us a much needed break from the Louisiana heat! We all agreed this was one of our best vacations and plan to come back to stay here when we come back! Under the Big Sky

From initial deposit to end of stay, the property owners communicated very well and efficiently. The home is exactly as it is promoted in the ad, but what you can't see in pictures is tranquility. Pictures do not do it justice. Home is comfortable and everything is provided. Checking in was the easiest I have ever experienced. Sitting on the back deck was so relaxing as we listened to the river rolling on. Best sound machine ever. We did have a little situation with the refrigerator, but the owners came right over and assessed the issue immediately. If you want a great location and easy drive to Yellowstone, this is definitely the place to stay. If we are ever close to Big Sky Montana, this will be our home away from home. Thanks to Carolyn and Terry, we had an amazing Montana Adventure. P.S. We are 6 ladies who travel together, so our expectations are high. This home met every expectation.

Outstanding!

There is a reason every review of this amazing space is so positive! We have done numerous VRBO's and this experience was by far the easiest and most true to what is depicted - and yet so much more. Almost hesitate to describe the beauty of Big Sky and the ONeil guest house because we plan on returning soon and are afraid it wont be available ;) but Carolyn and Terry deserve the accolades for the beautiful space they have made available. The house was exactly as pictured, and very clean! The bedrooms were perfect for our 2 families of 4 with the most comfortable bedding and sheets. We ate just about every dinner at the house and the kitchen was more than adequately stocked and with quality cookware and knives! Plus eating on the deck can't be beat - even with the snow in June! We divided our time between hiking, fishing and zip lining in the Big Sky area and touring Yellowstone. The attention to detail in the house (provisions , popcorn machine, decor, Bose speakers, quality bedding and towels, and well maintained deck and hot tub) and the natural beauty of Big Sky is quite simply one of the best experiences ever with VRBO and we were very sad to leave! Beware of the Vacation Blues after leaving here!

Terry and I were on our way to Yellowstone National Park when we spent the night in Big Sky, Montana. Needless to say, the next day was a glorious July day and we immediately fell in love with Big Sky. After extending our stay another 4 days, we began planning our next trip to Montana to ski Lone Mountain. That January we knew it had won our hearts and we began our search for the perfect property. In 1991 we purchased our thirteen acre paradise on the Gallatin River. It was the best decision we have ever made!!
