Sans Souci Gites - Wheatfields - 4 Stars

Sans Souci Gites is a small haven of two and three bedroom Gites located in the north of Charente-Maritime in sunny southwest France. Classified by Charentes Tourism in 2023 Wheatfields has been awarded a four star rating.

Located in a small village nestled in the sunflower clad countryside with easy access to the A10 motorway, we are less than 8 hours’ drive from Calais, 5.5 hours from Le Havre and 4 hours from St Marlo.

With flexibility to accommodate parties of 2 to 14 people, this is a great place for families large and small or friends who wish to holiday together. The location is ideally situated to access many attractions within an hour’s drive including West Coast Beaches, La Rochelle, Cognac, Niort, Poitiers, National Parks and Futuroscope.

Each Gite is presented with its own individual character and finished to a high standard of comfort to make your holiday a home from home experience. Each gite has a lounge with both French and English (Freesat) TV and free WIFI. The kitchens are all fully equipped to ensure that you have everything you need. And a private, secure garden with both lounging and dining areas and a gas barbeque.

There is a 6m x 12m heated swimming pool, communal dining and lounging areas as well as a games area for boules or croquet. The site is secure with electric gates. There is off-road parking for each gite.

Local amenities are just 5 minutes’ drive away Co-op, boulangerie, pharmacy, and post office. Large supermarkets are located to the north (12 minutes’ drive) and to the south (20 minutes’ drive).

The owners live on site with their two small friendly dogs to ensure that you receive a personal welcome on arrival and to ensure the site is maintained in a pristine condition throughout your stay.

Wheatfields is our four star rated executive Gite, a spacious two-bedroom finished to a high standard it is provided with a fully equipped office/reading room. It has its own private garden overlooking open countryside with secluded eating and lounging areas.

Downstairs has a large lounge with WC and a separate spacious fully equipped kitchen /diner There is both French and English TV (Freesat), a DVD player and a music docking station. There is free WiFi on site offering the best connection that French country living can offer.

The kitchen is equipped with an electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, and all the required crockery to prepare and deliver home cooked meals.

Upstairs there are two large double bedrooms and the office/reading room. The master bedroom has a king-size bed and an ensuite shower room with sink and WC. The second bedroom can either be made up as a king size double or twin depending on guest personal requirements. The main bathroom has a bath with shower, with sink and WC. The office/reading room is provided with a desk, ergonomic chair, docking station, screen and printer. There is also a comfy chair for taking some quiet time away with a book. As the bedrooms are all on the first floor, unfortunately this accommodation is not suitable for individuals with mobility issues.

Outside there is a private secluded garden to the rear with both an eating and lounging area with high quality furniture, offering uninterrupted views of the countryside. There is a gas barbeque with a gas bottle for your free use. To the front, there is secure off-road parking and the pool, communal and games areas are all just a few steps away.

Wheatfields is the perfect Gite for a couple looking for spacious accommodation, two couples or a family with two teenagers/children. Wheatfields is also idea for those who need to maintain connectivity whilst enjoying their holiday away from the grind.
