Functional, but not comfortable space
The apartment was functional, with all of the amenities listed, but the beds and the pillows were incredibly uncomfortable. The futon beds where my kids slept were very hard, the mattress was so thin you could feel the bars of the futon under you when you laid down, and my kids are both small for their age. The main mattress was slightly thicker but not comfortable, and the pillows were not very substantial. All four of us were stiff and painful the next day, and after 17 days in Europe, these were the first beds that left us feeling beat up.
The bathroom is very nice and spacious and the kitchenette was fully functional.
The neighborhood did not feel safe as we walked from the subway station to our unit, especially at night, but the local bakeries were very amazing. The unit we were in was on the first floor, and right outside was the street and crosswalks. The street noise was loud and all night, and the bright orange lights from the crosswalk and the street shown in the big beautiful windows all night. There were not enough curtains to cover the windows completely to block out the lights and the material was too thin to provide any buffer for the street noise.
The unit was clean and was redone quite nicely, and the secure doors made it feel safe once inside, but the unit did not offer a respite for a decent night’s sleep due to noise, light, and poor quality beds.
