Hidden away in a picturesque nature reserve, Cefn Coch Farm, near Machynlleth, Powys, is a small agroecological upland farm set between the Cambrian Mountains and the Dyfi valley. Einion being one of two lovely barn conversions located on the land. The single storey charming cottage offers a uniquely tranquil setting, guests are sure to fall in love with this rural gem. Sleeping up to four across two bedrooms, Einion makes for a wonderful couple’s retreat or family getaway.
The open-plan kitchen, dining and living room creates a multi-functional space where living and being together becomes the centrepiece of your time away from home. With three comfortable sofas in front of a cosy wood burner, a dining table for six and a well-equipped kitchen for all your cooking needs you will certainly spend a great deal of time relaxing here while taking a break exploring the stunning setting.
There are two bedrooms, one king sized bed and one super king zip and link to offer flexible sleeping options. Both bedrooms include a French door leading to the garden, ideal for a morning coffee or evening beverage. The bathroom has a toilet, and shower over the bath. With skylight windows, the whole cottage benefits from a light and airy feel, which in the winter is equally as cosy due to the underfloor heating provided. Outside there is a charcoal BBQ for guests to enjoy, making summertime al fresco cooking a joy.
This is a truly special rural hide-away. Off the beaten track - there is no passing traffic (except the odd tractor and horses on the bridlepath) as the cottages are located at the end of the farm track which leads to the hills. Perfect for anyone interested in wildlife- Keep your eyes open for the tawny owls feeding their young. There is also osprey nesting locally (March - September), buzzards and red kites to be seen, and otters living in the stream. However, should you wish to explore the local area, you are ideally positioned to get to explore. Machynlleth being only 15 minutes away is the closest town where you can enjoy its various shops, cafes, pubs, museums, and art galleries.
The coast is only 12 miles away for easy beach trips. Snowdonia National Park is just 5 miles away, and a bridle path leading up into the Cambrian Mountains runs right past the cottage, making it the ideal spot for walking. The famous Centre for Alternative Technology is also close by for anyone interested in sustainability. Other attractions include fishing on the River Dyfi, Steam Railways (Corris, Tallylyn, and Rheidol Valley), Nature Reserves, King Arthur’s Labyrinth, Mountain Biking trails and a choice of Golf Courses.
