Perfect for families

Everything was perfect. The house comfortably fit up to 18 of us ranging from 3 yo’s to grandparents. Plenty of space and great outdoor area for kids. Darrell is a great host and took care of everything. Can’t recommend enough.

Ideal venue for large family get together

We had a 3 night stay for an 80th birthday celebration. This is a great venue for large gatherings as plenty of room on the ground floor to accommodate a large crowd of people and not feel squashed in. We fed a large group no problem. All bedrooms had an en suite, was a bit strange on the ground floor to go through a bedroom to use the washroom though. The place was clean and tidy and you could relax in it. Would recommend to others. Thanks for a great stay

Lovely bit of Ireland

The property and facilities were stunning! This is a great place for a family get together. If you are traveling from the US - a word of warning; toilet paper is not resupplied, there is no blow dryer and if you want a hot shower you need to let Darrell know your schedule so he can adjust the timer. Also, there is a clothes washer but no dryer and towels are not resupplied, so if you take daily showers and want fresh towels you need to try to dry them on a rack in the kitchen. It works but slowly. Being from the states we have different expectations and to know these issues in advance would have prevented misunderstandings. Darrell was so kind to explain the process and everything worked out fine. We enjoyed our family vacation and have great memories of Ireland’s beautiful countryside.

Fantastic Accommodations, great property and town!

Our visit was fantastic! It was a total of 17 of us (5 friends stayed in another rental in Aughrim), ages ranging from 16-81. Everyone had a comfortable bed, a place at the dinner table and a place to relax. Staying in a more rural area of Ireland was perfect for a big group of friends and family from Nebraska/Missouri, USA. We were right at home. Darrell made sure that we had all the accommodations needed, our check in and check out was seamless and his communication was prompt and helpful. For any US guests, here's a little run-down: There are seven bedrooms, each with a bathroom Main floor: 1. One Double, one futon, accessible bathroom with shower Second Floor (up the first flight of stairs): 2. Large bedroom (actually two rooms, one with a queen, the other a twin that share a bathroom with shower 3. Two twins, bathroom with shower 4. One double, one twin, bathroom with shower 5. One double, one twin (lower to the ground, called a tressel in Ireland), bathroom with a tub, and shower attachment Third Floor (up the next flight of stairs, these rooms and the landing outside of them have "in-roof" windows that are fantastic. 6. One double, one twin (tressel), bathroom with shower. 7. One double, bathroom with a shower. The entry way is spacious for leaving shoes, coats, backpacks. The kitchen is well stocked and equipped. Dishwasher, washer (racks for hang-drying). It was all fantastic - HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Great stay in Aughrim

Tinnakilly House is a lovely property, cosy and roomy at the same time, in which a small group of friends and family stayed for the weekend. Kitchen is well stocked, beds are comfortable, and location is great for country explorations within an hour from Dublin. Thanks, Darrell!

Short, but sweet

6 friends for a long weekend. Darrell was a great host. Home is beautiful; we hung out in the kitchen around the table most of the time! Fully stocked for making great meals together. A great get-away (couldn’t count on WiFi but that didn’t dampen our stay at all!)

Great Holiday House

Huge house with 7 ensuite bedrooms over 3 floors which was loved by all. Car a necessity but close to all amenities. Great spacious garden with play frame and swings for the kids. Gas BBQ was well utilised, as was the outdoor seating area. Everything was supplied, there was nothing missing from this house.

Family holiday

This was a great location for us and great access to beaches, walks,etc. The house itself was perfect for our group size and plenty of outdoor space for the kids. Darrell was a great host and made it very easy for us in terms of check in and communication was fantastic. Def recommend for large family group.

spectacular view, not great communication

pros: beautiful views from the front. Perfect location. Lovely setting. Each bedroom having an en-suite is a great plus. Kitchen was well appointed. Very comfortable home. cons: the owner was there to greet us and show us how to use the stove, but he didn't advise that the hot water and heat were on a timer, nor did we know when the timer was set for, resulting in cold showers for almost our entire party. He did not respond to VRBO messages, text, or voicemail to his cell phone. Since the weather was windy and rainy a good portion of our stay, this became a major detractor to our stay.

Super Familienurlaub

Unsere Gruppe bestand aus 11 Leuten. Vom Kleinkind bis Erwachsener war alles vertreten. Das Haus war super ausgestattet. Jedes Zimmer hatte ein eigenes Bad. Mit Warmwasser gab es überhaupt keine Probleme, was wir schon öfters in anderen Unterkünften hatten. Der Außenbereich war sehr weitläufig. Es gab einen Spielbereich für die Kinder. Ein Sandkasten, in dem allerdings nicht mehr so viel Sand ist, Zwei Schaukeln und ein kleines Klettergerüst mit Rutsche. Viel Platz zum Fußballspielen gab es auch. Darrell, der Gastgeber, kam öfters mal vorbei um nach den Rechten zu schauen und zu fragen ob noch etwas gebraucht wird. Er war ein äußerst netter Mensch und hat unseren Aufenhalt perfekt gemacht. Vielen Dank!

Perfect house for Celebrating with family or friends!

We fell in love with Darrell's house, with the large well equipped kitchen, cosy sittingroom and wonderful atmostpheric diningroom. A perfect setting for our Gatsby Murder mystery weekend! In the evenings we enjoyed having cocktails outside surrounded by the beautiful scenery, and in the day enjoyed sitting out having lunch and having use of the BBq. Bedrooms were large and all ensuite and everywhere was spotless, Wifi was available but limited. Darrell was a fantastic host and couldnt have been more helpful looking after our every need. We look forward to returning.
