KOLOKITHA: Spacy 1 Studio Plaka Beach Cottage

400 sqft Studio with integrated kitchen and separate bathroom, large double bed and extra sofabed, seaview, private gazebo and private sunbathing terrace directly on shore. Completely renovated 2022 with new kitchen, appliances and even more seaview.

The beach studio KOLOKITHA is located in the first row 50 ft. from the waterline a small flock of three separated cottages on a beautiful and safe plot of land. (Fenced) Few steps to the sea. Nicely renovated 1 studio cottages with vaulted high ceiling, ca. 400 sq.ft. (about 37 square meters), large comfortable double bed (King size), separate sofa/bed, view to the sea, inside and outside eating area, built in kitchen, separate windowed bathroom with marble tiling, Shower, sink, toilet. Studio room has full A/C. Private outside Gazebos with table and chairs, with unobstructed view to the sea. It would be hard to be closer to the sea or in a more relaxing spot with the soft sound of the waves around you. And it would be hard to find such a safe location far away from the big cities but still in short walking distance (ca. 650 ft, ca. 200m) of a friendly little fishing village with many original tavernas and cafes. A bus stop close.

You will have your environmental fiendly private studio (complete photovoltaik autonomy) with seaview, a private outside area that is separated from the 2 other cottages with tall natural stone walls. Your outside area has an eating place, shade by a pergola as well as a private sunbathing platform with seaview.

You have an english and greek speaking host that lives a few miles away. she can organise for you e.g a rental car and is there for you regularly.

relaxed beach atmosphere, the sun, the soft sound of the waves... pure holiday

The cottages are located ca 100 meters from Plaka village, just a short walk along or behind Plaka Beach. Plaka has many taverns and cafés as well as a beach bar. On very rare occasions (2-3 times during the whole summer season) there is life music in one of the restaurants or beach bar that can be heard over the bay also in the cottages. It usually stops at 23.00

Stunning location

Fabulous bungalow with a wonderful outside area allowing you to make the most of the stunning view. We’ve had an incredibly relaxing holiday in a peaceful location. The kitchen had everything needed to cook an evening meal but there are also some lovely restaurants in the village. Christine is incredibly helpful and easy to contact. We would highly recommend this property.

Nous avons passé un agréable moment dans ce logement. Avantages : - Vue et emplacement extraordinaire - Logement bien équipé et spacieux - accès direct et privé à la mer Inconvénients : - Les voisins très proches et si vous tombez mal (bruyants et irrespectueux) , votre séjour sera moins agréable (notre cas) - plage en galets : impossible de se promener sur la plage On garde tout de même un bon souvenir de ce logement.

Absolutely fabulous beachside accommodation

We had a wonderful week at kolikitha cottage. Listening to the waves lapping on the beach and being steps away from the sea was fantastic. It is incredibly relaxing and really hard to tear yourself away when it’s time to go home. Can’t recommend highly enough. We will be going again. Christine and team were brilliant.

Wunderbare Lage

Wir haben uns dort sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Lage ist wunderschön. Das Meer und das Rauschen in unmittelbarer Nähe… Das Frühstück auf der Terrasse ein Erlebnis. Man sollte allerdings Mittel gegen Moskitos nicht vergessen! Insgesamt: wunderschön!

Einmalig!

Kurz gesagt: ein einmaliges Erlebnis! Perfekte Lage, direkt an einem wunderbaren Strand, super Ausstattung! Ich hatte noch nach einem anderen Kissen gefragt und zwei Stunden später war es auf dem Zimmer. Obwohl wir die Gastgeberin erst am Ende der Reise gesehen haben, hat sie es trotzdem geschafft, dass man sich sehr willkommen und gut aufgehoben gefühlt hat. Tolle Leistung und vielen Dank :) gerne wieder!!

Amazing Location -private and relaxing

My husband and I stayed at at the cottages (we had the middle one) it was the perfect place. We had flown in from Athens and this was just what we wanted, a quiet place to relax and a small little town to walk to for drinks and meals. This was our “relaxing” part of our trip in between Athens and Santorini. We swam at the beach everyday, and walked into town (5 mins) every evening. The trip to island of Spingola was interesting, would recommend. Can catch a ferry boat for 9Euros or so round trip, pick up is just a 5 min walk into town. As for cottage, it was quiet, easy to park with the private lot (we rented a car) and be sure to follow the directions given by host, easier route than by GPS which would put you on smaller roads. We have saved this VRBO in our favorites and would definitely stay again. Thank you!

Beautiful beach cottage on the water!

Plaka Beach Cottages was amazing! 3 Studio units 13 steps to the beach. Very private, we were the only people there during our week. Very comfortable unit with A/C too! Christina was very helpful and easily available. Several Tavernas to eat and drink at in the town. We did rent a car and drove all over the east side of Crete. We would stay here again, probably bring 2 other couples with us and rent out all 3 units!!!

It was exactly what we were looking for! Right on the water, private steps to the beach! Everything you need with in a 2 minute walk. The property manager was very helpful!

Wonderful lodgings by the sea

It was lovely to be so close to the sea. I loved the outside set-up with a table and chairs and lounges. The windows had screens, which meant we could leave the windows open and listen to the sea from inside. A very well maintained property.

Plaka Beach Cottage

An absolutely stunning Villa. We enjoyed ourselves from the minute we arrived to our departure. The villa was equipped with everything we needed for our stay and there was even basic food items for our arrival. It was spotless, had air conditioning and the most wonderful views. Cannot fault this place and we can’t wait to return.

Tranquil with beautiful views

We wished we’d stayed longer! From the very beginning it all went smoothly. Christine was in contact with references to taxis etc from Heraklion airport, therefore our taxi driver knew the area and found our accommodation late at night. Easy to work air con and mattress very comfortable for us. There was a welcome food pack which got us through a couple of days, thank you to the lovely lady for this who also works on beach beds, she was very helpful. The location was superb and we would love to come again. We wanted relaxation so spent time on the terrace sunbathing and looking out to views of Spinalonga. We ate breakfast out there too. Kitchen equipped if with all you need, shower good. We loved the whole experience, the little gate to the beach was used regularly and thank you for free sun beds on the beach too. We swam everyday even filmed a huge black and white Manta Ray in the shallows. We walked 2 minutes into the village daily to supermarket and restaurants in the evenings. Plenty of lovely places to eat. Took a taxi To Elounda 8 euros, a busier place so we prefer Plaka. All locals friendly & food lovely. Eagles flying high above the mountains behind were great to watch as we take our binoculars everywhere too! Had a lovely boat ride across from tiny harbour in Plaka to Spinalonga for 10 euros, cafe there , had about 4 hours and walked up to the highest point, boats coming and going all day. Lovely views from there too. Thank you for building these amazing studios right on the beach, which also I forgot to mention has waiter service from sun beds to a cafe too! I came to see the island and all exceeded my expectations, 😀

We were a group of 3 couples who rented the 3 cottages on offer. We found the cottages ideal for our needs. It was every thing we had hoped for. An amazing location with fantastic views and facilities.

It was just what we wanted

My wife and I had a lovely time at the “cottage”. Although described as a cottage it is an apartment style residence with all the facilities you need. Ours was the central one of three in the complex and I feel has the best situation with three different sun areas immediately outside the front door including an eating area and drying area. The bay is very stoney and a trial to get into the sea - beach shoes with a sole are recommended in order to safely manoeuvre and avoid the black sea urchins. But once in a snorkel and facemask is essential to benefit from the aquatic wildlife - a treat. There are walks available to Elounda and the peninsula point without the use of a car - but I would recommend a vehicle on a couple of days at least to travel around and for the major shopping if self catering. Elounda has the best shopping. The host provide a welcome pack which will take you by surprise with what’s included - thank you it was very welcome. We travelled in mid October just as the season was ending. There were plenty of people still attending Spinalonga but the beach at Plaka was being mothballed for the winter. Restaurants and tavernas were a plenty and very welcoming. Good food and reasonably priced. All in all a really enjoyable and relaxing holiday. We are really glad we went.

Plaka apartment paradise.

Fantastic property which far exceeded my expectations. Very nice touch to have bread jam water and other goodies on our arrival. The apartment was spotless on our arrival. The host was brilliant and made us feel very welcome. Maybe a small first aid kit to hand would of been handy. Will be back.

Stunning, magical and so quiet and relaxing

We stayed in Kollikatha cottage for 2 weeks and can honestly say we have never had a more relaxing holiday to date. If you love simplicity with clean comfortable accommodation and direct access to the sea then this is the holiday for you. The views are stunning and the village (a very short flat walk away) is friendly and quiet compared to the larger resorts. Lots of good restaurants to choose from and a couple of supermarkets for basic needs. The sea in front of the cottages is clear and warm although I would also recommend sea shoes as those stones are tricky. At night the stars are wonderful and all you can hear is the sound of waves on the beach. Spinalonga is worth a visit as you are looking at it all day, its very interesting and its only a short walk to the ferry. We were looked after very well by Christine and her team and nothing was ever too much trouble. The airport transfers Christine organised for us were on time and very luxurious! Seriously though this is a place to just chill, relax and soak up the sea and sun. We would highly recommend the villas to like minded people who love quiet and meeting really lovely Crete people who have time to talk and laugh with you rather than treat you as a number. Thank you - we will definitely come again!

Die Lage direkt am Meer ist Garantie für wunderbare Abende - die Zimmer / Küche / Badeinheit ist sauber, zu wünschen übrig lässt leider das nicht vorhandene Service seitens der örtlichen Fewo - Vertretung! Das Fernsehen funktioniert trotz Urgenz bis zum Schluss nicht, Handtücher bzw. Badetücher werden nicht gewechselt, der Mistkübel in der Toilette wird nicht ausgeleert. Trotzdem aber ein wunderschöner Platz und ein toller Urlaub!
