Villa Loca - Protagonist the sea - Santa Flavia Palermo

The villa, featuring spacious terraces overlooking the sea, is a two-family home divided into two floors that are completely independent of one another, separated by the garden—which provides access to the sea—and the entrance courtyard.
This is the upper floor, at the level of the entrance courtyard.
Inside, the house is divided into two wings, each with two bedrooms and a bathroom, with the entryway, spacious living room, and dining area in the center.
The bedrooms, which are comfortable and bright, all offer ocean views, and each is equipped with air conditioning, ceiling fans, and window screens.
In the living room, you’ll find a large, comfortable sofa, a fully functional fireplace (for the winter months, of course), a television, and a round, extendable table so you can dine indoors on those rare rainy days.
From here, through two large arched glass doors, you can access the larger terrace overlooking the Gulf of Capo Zafferano.
This terrace, furnished with a rocking sofa, deck chairs, and sun loungers, is also comfortably equipped with a table and chairs for al fresco dining while enjoying a spectacular view.
The kitchen, located off to the side of the entrance, is fully functional and well-equipped. From here, you can access both a storage room with a laundry area and another terrace, complete with a table, chairs, and a barbecue area.
At the entrance is a section of the garden featuring typical Mediterranean plants, flowers, and herb beds, as well as a large open area for parking cars (no more than 2 cars when other guests are staying on the lower floor and up to 4, depending on their size, at other times), accessible via the gate on the street (remote-controlled), down a slope with an S-curve that is a bit narrow for large vehicles such as 8- or 9-seat minivans.
From here, or from the terrace overlooking the sea, you can access the other garden, filled with citrus and other fruit trees, and by following a small path, you’ll reach the staircase and gate leading to the beach (you’ll be given the key to open it, along with the house keys).
On the beach, immediately to the right, you’ll also find a boat shed where you’ll have access to equipment such as: beach umbrellas, chairs, a few inflatable mats, beach toys for children, and a restroom with a shower and sink.
The beach consists mainly of small pebbles, but a few meters to the left, there are also some sandy areas. In any case, the slope into the water is very gentle and suitable even for children.
It is no longer a private beach, but there is a public access point, which is opened by the municipality in the morning and closed in the evening; however, the villa’s private access allows you to go to the beach at any time.

Inside the house, you’ll find a detailed map (created specifically for Villa Loca) of the area where you’re staying and the surrounding region; it will help you get around easily and quickly find places of interest or simply useful locations (supermarkets, churches, banks, pharmacies, etc.). You’ll also find a small library with guidebooks, magazines, and novels, as well as a short handbook—written by me—containing practical tips about the house, historical information about the area, and cultural recommendations (museums, villas, and archaeological sites...) and culinary highlights (restaurants, pizzerias, bakeries, ice cream shops...).
Here you’ll also find the contact number for a man who organizes boat tours using a “Gozzo”—a boat very similar to a fishing boat.
But if you’d like to rent a motorboat or an inflatable boat, you can do so 1.5 km from the villa.
The nearest and best-stocked supermarket is 900 meters away.
The village of Porticello is 1.2 km away, featuring a bustling harbor where you can buy fresh, high-quality fish. You’ll also find many other stores and shops marked on the map provided at the house.

The lower level of the villa—which is set back and not visible from the entrance—is owned by my uncle, who lives there with his family occasionally on weekends and mainly during the summer months. He rents it to a regular family during August and on a weekly basis during the other months.
