Chalet L'Ecuela, The Old School, Luxury Chalet Rental, near Morzine France

Chalet L'Ecuela is a beautifully renovated 100 year old school building above St Jean D'Aulps close to Morzine, sleeping up to 15 people in 7 spacious bedrooms (3 twins, 3 doubles and 1 triple) and 6,5 bathrooms. The chalet boasts old stone walls mixed with wooden beams and wood panelled walls, spacious rooms, beautiful and comfortable furniture, modern appliances and luxury Egyptian cotton linen and fluffy towels giving a luxurious and cosy feel to the chalet.

The well equipped open plan kitchen / dining room has seating for up to 15 people with gas hob, double oven, microwave, American fridge freezer (with ice dispenser), dishwasher and Senseo coffee machine. The separate lounge has stunning mountain views up and down the valley, with a selection of armchairs and sofas, convertible sofa bed, log fire and both English and French satellite TV, PVR, Netflix, Prime video and Disney+, table football and free Starlink wifi.

A large decked terrace and large garden with barbecue, seating for 15 people, deck chairs and outdoor games can be accessed from the lounge. Wood fire heated outside hot-tub can also in the garden.

The chalet also benefits from a large games room including Pool, Pingpong table, Playstation4 with games and projector and Alexa.

L'Ecuela is located in the heart of the mountains, in a hamlet called Les Onchets, offering peace and tranquillity whilst also being only 10 minutes drive from Morzine and many of the local ski lifts, mountain biking and walking routes.

Our Services:
L'Ecuela is self catered, but bread delivery, breakfast, afternoon teas and evening meals are available on request (ask for menu and pricing options or download from our website). A welcome pack is included, and Egyptian cotton linen and towels are provided.

Free wifi is provided throughout and there is ample parking space for up to 6 cars. Ski and snowboard equipment can be ordered from ski-mobile (with discount) and delivered directly to the chalet.

Guidance on mountain bike hire, local walks, other activities, local events, restaurants and attractions can be provided

Traumhafte Unterkunft für Gruppen und Familien

Wir hatten mit unseren Motorrädern eine traumhaft schöne Woche im Chablais, wobei die Unterkunft das Sahnehäubchen war. Tolle Atmosphäre, viel Platz, wunderschöne Zimmer und eine perfekte Ausstattung machen den Aufenthalt zum Luxusvergnügen. Eine Woche ist viel zu schnell vorüber.

Une parenthèse enchantée

L'écuela a en tout point répondu à nos attentes. La maison est parfaitement équipée pour accueillir les 14 membres de notre famille, qui s'étaient réunis pour passer ensemble une semaine de vacances à la montagne, dans une ambiance cosy. La salle de jeu et le jacuzzi extérieur apportent un vrai plus et ont été fort appréciés. Nous recommandons également le service traiteur, nous nous sommes régalés des petits plats d'Estelle, qui a été très disponible durant tout le séjour.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour. La maison est très spacieuse et hyper bien équipée, il y en a pour tous les goûts! Décoration de bon goût, moderne avec mention spéciale pour le bain nordique avec chauffage au bois. Emplacement très calme et dépaysant! Propriétaire à l'écoute et très arrangeant! Je recommande sans hésitation! Merci!

Fantastic Luxury Chalet close to the slopes

Really a fantastic week staying in this beautiful chalet. The chalet has been recently renovated to a very high quality. The main floor has a large kitchen leading to dining area and then living space with lots of space for sitting, a table football and a great log fire. The bedrooms are all very spacious and all have en-suite. Downstairs there is a great game room with another table football. pool. projector screen. Outside is a fantastic wood fired hot tub which gave hours of pleasure. The chalet has all the mod-cons including Wifi, TV incl. english free view, PS4, even Sonos sound system. Our hosts were brilliant - living next door they were always on hand if anything needed. There was even delivery from the bakery each morning with the bread and pastries. Skiing in Roc d'Enfer is around a 10 minute drive ,rest of portes du soleil is also close. The main town of Saint Jean d'Aulpes is small but nice. It has a couple of good pubs/bars (including english carols on Christmas eve and a regular pub quiz etc). Takes about 35mins to walk from the chalet or less than 5 minutes in the car. All in all, cant recommend this chalet enough.

The property was a very clean, maintained well and finished to a high spec

We arrived to a very warm welcome from Mark, Estelle and their family. The house was a fantastic space for our two large families, well equipped and well set up. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the beautiful region, and then relaxing back at L'ecula with its spacious rooms, plentiful bathrooms and lovely views. Thanks for a great holiday 😄

Très très bien en été aussi

Nous étions un groupe de 11 et avons eu beaucoup de place dans ce bâtiment très bien restauré. La météo maussade les premiers jours nous a permis de jouer au billard et babyfoot. La cuisine est très bien équipée. Les espaces sont vastes pour déjeuner, à l'intérieur comme à l'extérieur. Estelle nous a très bien expliqué les consignes pour l'utilisation du Jaccuzi extérieur. Un bon point est à noter pour l'isolation phonique entre les pièces et entre les niveaux : du bon boulot. Enfin, le coin est calme et il y a de belles randonnées; et on a trouvé un chemin par trop pentu pour nous rendre à pied au village. Donc, nous avons été ravi !

Un chalet très agréable pour 15 personnes , des propriétaires accueillants et sympathiques . Un cadre verdoyant avec jacuzzi chauffant extérieur pour une vraie détente en rentrant de randonnée ou de rafting . On recommande vivement cet endroit .

UN CHALET CONFORTABLE ET UN ACCUEIL TRES PREVENANT

Dans ce vaste et confortable chalet chaque chambre est accompagnée de sa salle d'eau individuelle, la vaste cuisine est remarquablement équipée, de larges espaces permettent de se retrouver agréablement. Il a offert un cadre très confortable pour notre groupe de 5 personnes. l'Ecuela peut en accueil beaucoup plus dans les meilleures conditions. Nous n'avons utilisé qu'une petite partie des équipements de divertissement qui sont mis à la disposition des hôtes: Télévision, billard, baby-foot, home-cinéma. En revanche le jacusi en plein air, a fait le bonheur de plusieurs d'entre nous. Un remarquable travail de restauration a été accompli pour faire de cette ancienne école un logement très accueillant et décoré avec beaucoup de goût. Enfin, nous avons beaucoup apprécié la façon dont nous avons été accueillis, et en particulier toutes les prévenances qui nous ont été témoignées : panier d'accueil avec des provisions pour débuter le séjour, réserves de thé et de café, délicieux home-made brownies. La localisation qui permet de jouir de la montagne tout en offrant une proximité suffisante avec Evian pour assister à des concerts, visiter des expositions, profiter du lac , a parfaitement convenu à ce séjour estival. Nous recommandons vivement l'Ecuela pour découvrir cette magnifique région.

Super gemütliches Chalet mit viel Platz

Chalet ist genauso wie in den Fotos beschrieben. Super Betreuung durch die direkt daneben wohnenden Eigentümer. Hot Tub wurde täglich vom Eigentümer für den Nachmittag angeheizt. Holz für den offenen Kamin wurde auch zur Verfügung gestellt. Täglicher Brötchenservice. Chalet war bei Ankunft sauber geputzt, sehr bequeme neue Matratzen, einziger Nachteil: die Doppelbetten verfügen nur über eine einzelne große Decke. Steile Zufahrt zum Chalet, bei starkem Schneefall evtl Ketten notwendig. Ins Skigebiet nach Morzine/Les Gets ca 15-20min, ins Skigebiet Roc Enfer 5-10min mit dem Auto.

Excellent holiday home for big family

Very well equipped holiday home and finished to a very high standard. Everything you need for a big group is provided. We recommend the catered service provided by the owners: delicious food! The owners are very kind and gave us useful local information. Tremendous hospitality!

Lovely Chalet in a lovely location

We were a party of 12 adults and had a fabulous two week ski holiday in this spacious and very well equipped Chalet. We are very familiar with the area and have stayed in many self catered chalets and this one is certainly one of the best. We will look forward to returning to it in the future.

This chalet looks beautifully warm and inviting

We spoke to the owners a few times before our arrival and they were always friendly and helpful. The chalet is beautiful and had everything we needed for our weeks stay. The bedrooms were comfy and the kitchen was well enough equipped that cooking for 9 was no problem at all. The whole chalet was roomy, warm and tastefully converted. Mark and Estelle were available if we had any queries and there was always a roaring fire awaiting our return from the slopes and the hot tub would be up to temperature and extremely inviting. I have no complaints and would definitely recommend this chalet and would re-book if we were to return to Morzine.

Accueil et chalet ont permis un agréable séjour

Situé à 5mn en voiture de Saint Jean nous y avons trouvé tous les commerces et quelques km plus loin un super marché très bien achalandé Même si la vallée est relativement étroite l’ensoleillement est très bon et la vue très belle. L’environnement du chalet loué est agréable, le jardin et le parking sont faciles d’accès et de bonne surface. Les quatorze personnes disposent de bons espaces (chambres, salon , salle à manger cuisine) et peuvent profiter d’un chalet agréable, confortable et aménagé avec un souci pratique et une décoration de bon goût avec des matériaux et des installations de qualité. Tout est à disposition pour la préparation des repas, l’entretien des pièces et les loisirs (télévision multimédia, sono, jeux). Au retour de balades ou de ski, le spa est un plus . Les propriétaires nous ont simplement et très agréablement accueillis et sont restés à notre disposition tout le temps de notre séjour. Leur souci de bien nous recevoir et de nous assurer une très belle semaine a été permanent. Les 12 personnes ( 6 adultes et 6 enfants) qui ont occupé ce chalet la semaine de Noël gardent un excellent souvenir de leur séjour à l’Ecuela. Elles ne manqueront pas de recommander cette adresse.

Fab chalet, great summer holiday in French Alps

We (my wife, 10 year old son and myself) have just spent 2 wonderful weeks at the recently completed (and extremely luxurious) L'Ecuela. This chalet is ideally located close to the lovely village of St Jean D'Aulps and only 10 minutes from Morzine (a well equipped Alpine ski resort, very popular with British tourists). The chalet itself is finished in stone and wood panelling and is tastefully decorated in a modern style. Estelle and Mark were very attentive hosts who catered to our every whim with a very cheery disposition. In fact, they went way over and above the call of duty on numerous occasions. The garden is beautifully appointed with delightful lime-coloured furniture and a lovely big terrace, fully equipped with a BBQ and dining table and chairs. The view from the balcony was stunning - even on rainy days (of which we unfortunately endured too many of during our two week stay in the middle of August!) Overall we were very happy with our accommodation choice for our summer holiday and cannot fault either the location or our hosts. We look forward to returning to L'Ecuela ourselves, and would definitely recommend it to family and friends.

Stylish, welcoming and in a great location.

Recently renovated spacious family house with superb views along the valley. Everything was clean and modern and presented with a touch of style...very comfortable. It was hot when we were there but looks ideal for the skiing season too - nice big log burner! Friendly owners on hand with helpful tips about the many places to go and things to do. Good choice of local amenities and restaurants. Thanks Estelle and Mark for a very enjoyable stay! Hope to be back soon!

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

The property had been left unused for 5 years before Estelle and Mark bought it. It was previously used as the village school at the beginning of the previous century, then as a children holiday center until it was decommissioned in 2006. Mark and Estelle spent the last 5 years painstakingly renovating it to a very high standard, trying to keep and mostly to uncover as much of the original features as possible.

The chalet has an amazing position, at 1050m altitude, surrounded by mountains, forests and amazing views. The chalet also boasts plenty of outside space with a large terrace and garden and wood fired hot tub to make the most of the amazing surroundings. Mark and Estelle made sure that all rooms were spacious, much bigger than what you normally get in a ski chalet. The chalet also benefits from the addition of a large games room.
