We have had a fantastic Christmas week. The house was spotless and so spacious yet cosy and comfortable. The beds are very comfortable and it was lovely to have en suites for every room. A huge table for all 12 of us to sit around. The kitchen is so well equipped. We filled the American fridge and the two ovens easily accommodated our 18 lb turkey with roasties and all the trimmings. The hosts responded immediately when we needed anything.The lane is quiet for walks and cycling for the children. We had good weather and loved the views across the fields.Tesco superstore was 10 minutes away and Fordmore farm shop 4 minutes away. Lots of National Trust properties to visit nearby and wonderful woodland walks. We’d like to come back in the summer to sit out in the garden and barbecue

We booked as a group of friends wanting a relaxing weekend. The house was perfect for us, 6 large bedrooms all en-suite, games room and well equipped kitchen. We were greeted with a beautiful freshly made cake and bottle of fizz. Only 5 minutes drive to Tesco. The hosts were extremely helpful We couldn’t asked for more, perfect for families or groups of friends. I even got a cuddle with one of the hosts cats We walked to the local pub and can Also recommend a walk along Tiverton canal

This is a brilliant property for a family get together. We stayed with our 2 adult children, their partners and 4 grandchildren. There was plenty of space for all of us and the kitchen was well equipped for a large family gathering. The bedrooms are all en-suite will good bathrooms, of a generous size and the beds are very comfortable with crisp white linen and lovely indulgent pillows. The children loved the games room and we enjoyed 2 brilliant family barbecues. The hosts were excellent and quickly sorted any small issues we had. A truly exceptional holiday thank you!!

Great family trip with all the conveniences of open spaces indoors and outdoors, especially having a seperate games room was a big advantage. Comfortable beds with quality linen and towels. A delightful stay and would love to come back again!

We had a fantastic weeks stay at the Hayloft. The children absolutely loved the large garden and playing under the trees and the hammock. All areas were exceptionally clean. The kitchen was great for cooking for a large group of people. The cake we had when arrived was beautiful and enjoyed by everyone. Having children with severe special needs, this was the perfect place to stay as it was very secure, and quiet, and toys available for them to play with, and Nanette made sure that there was nothing breakable for them to touch. Would definitely stay here again in future

Surprise 40th weekend

Brilliant property! Amazing to have en-suites in every bedroom. This property was the perfect venue for my partner’s surprise 40th weekend away with friends. The bedrooms were all a fantastic size with en-suites. Private and secluded enabling us to all switch off from the business of our day to day lives and relax. Great communication and recommendations from the owner.

Lovely, lovely place with beautiful surroundings. Great central space to eat and socialise together but also a couple of nice spots to hide away. Our group all said we wished we could stay longer to make the most of the surroundings and the well equipped games room!

Beautiful Spacious Barn

Spacious, fully equipped & catered for all, including my Labrador! Nanette was responsive to all queries before our visit, met us on arrival & was so friendly. The Hayloft was huge with fabulous bedrooms & all en-suite as described. We woke up every day to fabulous views. There was a cake & a bottle of bubbles waiting for us on arrival which was so kind. My Labrador had plenty of garden space to play & sleep in & as the weather was so good, we enjoyed the garden too. Nanette showed us some great places to walk to & visit, both on the coast & in the country. She also allowed us a slightly earlier check-in & later check out - thank you Nanette! We will definitely be booking again - The Hayloft was amazing.

Hayloft

The Hayloft was an amazing place to stay x The views were amazing especially at sunset. The bedrooms were lovely all en-suite and with extra touches like a hairdryer in every one. The games room was brilliant for a game of ping pong, air hockey and darts. We had a wonderful family weekend thank you Nanette

Beautiful house!!!

We absolutely loved staying here. The photos really don’t do the barn justice, it’s so much bigger than we thought and we had so much space. It was perfect for what we needed it for. The bedrooms are lovely and all the beds are really comfortable. The barn is lovely and warm with underfloor heating which was a huge bonus. the owners let us have a late checkout which was amazing because it was our wedding weekend, so we could have breakfast with our family. Thank you so so much. This made our whole post wedding morning, so much more relaxed and it was a lovely way to end our wedding. We had everything we needed in the house and will be returning again for a family trip.

Fantastic Stay at Beautiful Converted Barn

Brilliant

It was a big WOW from us all as we entered The Hayloft, from the authentic flagstone flooring to the wonderful wrought iron circular lights. It was spacious warm and comfortable. The bedrooms being all ensuite just made everything so much more easier with added comforts, of a lovely cosy towelling gown each.Our host was helpful and friendly, the excellent, and the beautifully flower decorated cake was delicious. I would certainly reccomend The Hayloft. Oh yes and great games roomg

A gem

This house was a brilliant base for a get together to celebrate a significant birthday. Spacious house with 6 en-suite bedrooms all of which could be made up as king sized beds. Lovely welcome, very responsive hosts, plenty of crockery and cutlery and a table big enough to sit everyone comfortably. Lots of parking, dog friendly and an enclosed garden. It was amazing

Great place for large groups

We had a fabulous stay at this well equipped and spacious accommodation in an idyllic peaceful setting. The hosts were friendly and there were lovely touches like a large homemade cake and bottle of fizz to welcome us. Would highly recommend.

Great stay in comfortable and spaceous home

We are 2 families with 5 children between 9 and 19 years old and we stayed for 1 week in summer 2024. We had a great time staying at this home. The home is very well equipped. All kitchen utensils, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer, tv's, bathrooms you may need are there. Enough furniture and space for all to have a pleasant time together. The seperate game room was especially appreciated by both children and adults. We played air hockey, table tennis and table football, as well as some of the board games found in the game room. If we had any questions, the owner Nanette was quick to reply and always very friendly. The farm is ecologically friendly, uses no insecticides and produces edible flowers. We were allowed to have a look there, which I really enjoyed. I took picturesd with my SLR with macrolense, which was great. From the home we did dayrtrips trips to Dartmoore to walk, to the "Jurassic Coast" and to Exeter. The other days we stayed at the home. I cannot remember ever staying at a holiday home that was so welcoming, well equiped and had such a great atmosphere. I will recommend your home to everyone. We hope to come again some day. Disappointing second visit

This was our second time at the hayloft, we had previously stayed in 2022, whilst I cannot fault the current host Nannette,s communications with me before and upon arrival, & I would like to add the thoughtful touch of an arrival homemade cake, with milk and Prosecco in the fridge, this was the only highlight of our trip! me and my family had noticed a serious decline in the cleanliness and condition of the property since our last stay. The cobwebs and dust are thick, abundant, and are everywhere! The apex roof is plastered in these webs covering the windows light fittings, they are visible in all lights. other areas including curtains, that have inches of dust, grime and are filthy!all of The windows ( and there are a lot) are dirty inside and out, our bedroom (red room) window had external beading hanging off, and the walls were crumbling which is a cause of damp. The kitchen- kick boards are filthy, as are the cupboards doors, the sink had black grime underneath the worktop( revolting!!!) and the tap is loose, the cooker hood is thick of dust and grease! Completely unacceptable!!! The furniture - is shabby, looks tired ( as it did when we last stayed) and needs replacing. Garden- the patio had weeds, and the grass needed cutting. The outside lighting at night is very poor. Given the property is on a flower farm i would have thought the presence of flowers within the

Great property for friends and family.

Great property as one of our group is in a wheelchair and he was able to be totally independent both inside and out as no thresholds. I fact he said it was the best disabled bathroom ever. Huge cooker, lots of pans and dishes. As a group of friends we had to improvise the seating so we could all sit together downstairs but this was due to the makeup of the group.

Hello! Nanette and Oliver live on Maddocks Farm with our two young children and Nanette’s Mum also living on the Farm. Together we run The Hayloft, our holiday rental, which over looks our flower farm. We grow organic Roses and other edible flowers for catering businesses, cake makers and gin distilleries.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

The Hayloft is just perfect for large family gatherings, or two to three families holidaying together. It has 6 en-suite bedrooms, with 100% cotton linen and towels provided in every room.

There are two communal living areas, one on the mezzanine floor and one around the log burning stove. The double height ceiling and sky lights make the property feel so spacious and light. There is under floor heating which keeps the Hayloft comfortably warm in the winter, as well as a cosy log burning stove.

There is a large central dining table which easily fits 12, perfecting for hosting family meals. The open plan kitchen is fully equipped.

The Hayloft has lovely views over the flower farm and across the hills of the Culm Valley. The sunsets are beautiful and dark skies at night offer great star watching. We are located in the heart of Devon with an abundance of local activities for young and old. We are also have easy access to the M5 and sandy beaches of South Devon can be reached within 30-35 minutes drive.

We try to be as green as possible. The hayloft has Solar panels for electric and hot water, we have an electric car charging point (We charge £50 per car per week for electric car charging), our water is supplied from our own bore hole.

Very close to activities such as DiggerLand and Bear Town, 30 minutes to beaches, fantastic local walks in the Blackdown hills as well as easy access to Exmoor and Dartmoor. Multiple nearby National Trust properties. Great area for mountain biking and cycling.
Walking distance to nice local Pub, “The Keepers Cottage” which does great Sunday Lunches.
