Spectacular uninterrupted views-w/hot tub-5mins from Duns Town

April Cottage has been thoughtfully restored to retain original character but with the benefit of contemporary comforts. Both April and May cottages are suitable for a range of holidays due to the exceptionally spacious layout and generous proportions of the rooms. This would make them ideal for families and group bookings. Of course they are also suitable for a cosy holiday for those who would like a relaxing break in front of a wood-burning stove. Good local shopping, pubs and restaurants are in the market town of Duns, 2 miles, and regular farmers markets in picturesque Kelso, 19 miles and Berwick 14 miles. Duns golf course is a 5-minute walk and there is good fishing nearby on Whittadder water or on the famous River Tweed. Shooting and stalking can be arranged. Hill walking in Lammermuirs or Cheviots, cycling on quiet roads. Visit St Abbs Head to see nesting sea birds in the spring, Coldingham for a lovely sandy beach or take a boat trip to Holy Island and the Farne Islands from Seahouses. Edinburgh is a scenic drive or 40 minutes by train from Berwick. Shop and pubs 2 miles. Both April and May cottages sleep 6 and the beds (zip-n-link) can be made up to suit allowing flexibility for your booking.

Wonderful place exactly as advertised, and Cathy (the host) was so engaged prior to our visit. It was more remote than we figured, not knowing how expansive the area is west of Edinburgh. Great time. Would stay again.

6 of us (5 adults and a 9 yr old) had an amazing New Year here. Cathy was excellent and provided a very warm welcome along with a brilliant welcome pack of goodies. The property was very clean, very cosy and contained everything we needed. We easily managed to make new year dinner - all we needed to supply was the food, all other utensils and cooking stuff was in the cottage. The hot tub was brilliant and nice and secluded with excellent views of the countryside during the day and of the amazing sky at night. We will definitely be back.

Perfect stay

We had the perfect stay. Cathy is very helpful & friendly. The photos do not do the property justice, it’s just lovely. Very well equipped. We had gorgeous weather & made full use of the hot tub. We would definitely book again.

Whole lot of fun

This place was fabulous and would definitely stay there again. The bedrooms where huge and all of us enjoyed every minute of our stay. The owner Cathy was lovely and very tentative to our party. Also very approachable and helpful for information.

Quiet and relaxing stay

So easy to book and the descriptions matched the cottage perfectly. Everything we needed was there - apart from the weather!! But that didn’t stop us from enjoying the surrounding countryside, views and hot tub. Thank you.

Mum’s special birthday

April cottage was everything we could want for our weekend break to celebrate our mum’s big birthday. The cottage has uninterrupted views of the Borders countryside so we could enjoy watching the wildlife from the well situated bench and even the hot tub! Inside was beautifully decorated as well as being comfortable with a very well resourced kitchen. The extra touches Cathy left helped the weekend feel very special. We hope to all visit again really soon!

Fabulous break!

Lovely property in lovely rural setting.. Property had everything you could need & welcome pack was a lovely surprise. Hot tub went down well with the kids & adults alike… amazing way to spend an evening enjoying the fabulous views! Not masses on door step to do but loads of options available within a short drive & a lovely big garden with outdoor furniture if you want to just chill/eat al fresco. Owner a dream to deal with a very responsive to my many pre arrival queries.

The best trip away!

We stayed at the April Cottage for my Dad’s 60th and everyone thought it was first class. Cathy added very personal touches to make our weekend memorable and even had a little 60th surprise (balloon, banners etc) for my Dad when we arrived - we were all very impressed! The cottage had plenty of space for everyone and thankfully the weather was decent enough to get use of the hot tub. 10/10!

Beautiful cottage in a stunning location. Highly recommended for a peaceful getaway

we booked this for a group of 5 of 5 friends over the weekend. The location was easy to find and check in was super easy and communicated well. The cottage is stunning and had everything we needed and more. Even down to some milk in the fridge. Everything had clear instructions and worked well, but the hot tub was by far our favourite. The beds were comfy and the sofas were just great to chill out. We had a trip into the village and also along to Berwick which was only a 20 minute drive. All of my friends have asked where we were and we will definitely be back again as it was just perfection.

April is a very spacious house with beautiful views and a fantastic hot tub .

Cathy is a very good host going the extra mile to provide a perfect welcome hamper for my teenagers and a birthday banner for my son. She provided some helpful recommendations for eating and local activities And a lovely spacious house for a luxury break in the Borders .

Perfect family break

The accommodation was spotlessly clean, spacious well equipped rooms especially the kitchen, comfy beds and smart tv, everything you would want in your own home. The hot tub was fabulous with awesome views. The location was ideal for us and Cathy was more than helpful with information about areas to visit with our 2 year old grandson. We all loved the holiday and will be returning .

Beautiful cottage in idyllic setting

We’ve just returned from a 3 night stay in April cottage and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The cottage is beautifully positioned with amazing views looking over the valley. The cottage itself was perfect for our requirements. It was spacious, clean and had everything and more than we required. WiFi was great and hot tub was perfect to relax in after long days out. Our first time to this area and it didn’t disappoint. We will be back.

Family staycation

5 of us spent a lovely relaxing Mon-Fri in the April cottage. The cottage is beautifully renovated and had everything we needed including lots of nice extras. The views were amazing especially from the hot tub, which was lovely to relax in. The owners were very welcoming and on hand to answer any queries without a problem. We will definitely return x
