Peaceful Retreat. A lovely cottage in a pretty village. Very friendly locals pop into the pub take time to relax have a meal very reasonable prices.

Great stay in a cute village - perfect location to explore

Great little find. Everything we needed was there. Perfectly located to explore the main attractions in the area. Quiet, parking a bonus. Would stay again in a heartbeat. Would have given 5 for condition but could do with a couple of little tweaks. We got used to the sofa but think it could do with replacing/restuffing. Maybe could do with a bit of a touch up here and there, decor wise but, really was a lovely place.

Beautiful Cottage

Fantastic cottage, has everything you need, secure courtyard garden if you have a dog its great, dedicated parking one car, ideally located. Only small comment is they need new sofa, it's very low and cushions gone. Beautiful cottage, in beautiful part of the world.

Hope Cottage, Naunton

Excellent and spacious cottage for two. Beautiful and peaceful position within the village. Well equipped and spotlessly clean with lovely courtyard and private parking space. Settee is very low and not that comfortable but otherwise all very good. I would recommend this cottage.

Idyllic

Lovely, if you want to getaway from it all. Fully enclosed garden. Great for dogs! Local friendly pub does good food. Friendly community. Stairs a bit dodgy for old folk/those with any type of mobility issues. Some comfortable garden seating would be a welcome addition.

A wonderful Cotswold cottage

It’s perfectly situated with Bourton on the Water, Broadway and Stow in the Wold all nearby. The cottage is tastefully decorated with a wonderful log burner, fully equipped kitchen and comfy bed. Lovely pub just 1 minute away.

Excellent cottage, more spacious than photos suggest

We loved it here - the little village is extremely picturesque. The cottage is on the road but there is no through traffic and the village is tiny so it's not a problem. The cottage is more much roomy than the photos suggest, especially the bedroom - we were quite surprised! Would definitely stay again.

A perfect Bolthole retreat

A beautiful cottage and a perfect location to explore the Cotswolds. Comfortable cozy romantic and would completely recommend if you are looking for a romantic break or to explore the surrounding area. The village has a lovely pub which on our stay was vibrant and nicely busy. The village is peaceful and very quiet, in fact we had more horses pass the cottage than cars. We definitely will book again

Cozy cottage in rural town

Such a beautiful cottage in a tiny and picturesque Cotswold town. It’s very well equipped and comfortable, although some further amenities such as body wash/soap, shampoo and conditioner would make it a better experience. Close to bourton and stow but peaceful with horses as the only traffic passing by.

Pub nearby was nice, but closed much earlier than advertised. Great for walking and for peace and quiet. Village could have done with a small village store.

Great location

The cottage is very comfortable and in a really good location for exploring the Cotswolds. Very quiet and pretty village, with a beautiful church and historic dovecote down by the river. My only complaint would be about the kitchen layout - the sink is directly below a wall cupboard, therefore quite difficult to actually do the washing up! But this is a minor issue. I really enjoyed my stay!

Beautiful village

Beautiful village, nice accommodation for 2 people, but cottage a little tired in places but a perfect location for exploring the Cotswolds. Our 2nd Bolthole Retreat in what is becoming our annual February trip to the area. Personal opinion, sofa very low down which we both found uncomfortable, TV small to view with limited channels.

Summer week in the Cotswolds

We have stayed in Naunton numerous times and this is a cottages to which we would happily return. Mary, next door, was welcoming and friendly, regularly checking we were okay. The cottage has everything you would need and is perfect for a couple. We highly recommend the Black Horse which is really close. Welcoming, good food with very large portions. The courtyard outside the cottage is lovely and catches the sun making it a lovely place to have a morning coffee or a bbq at night. We would definitely recommend it.

Hope Cottage

Hope Cottage is a beautiful property in the village of Naunton. It is close to the local Pub and the Wardens Way footpaths. There is a lovely private outdoor space to the rear and parking to the front. I would recommend staying here. The only things that could be improved would be a more comfy bed and sofa and a few touch ups to the decor. The stair bannister also needs attention. Overall, a lovely stay.

Hope Cottage review

Great location in a beautiful Cotswolds village with a friendly local pub in strolling distance. Cottage is charming and comfortable but could just do with a bit of tlc when it comes to furnishings and decor, for example the curtains in the bedroom and handles missing on a few cupboard doors. The oven/grill also needed a clean. We appreciated the log fire and bathroom was nice and spacious.

The perfect couples country retreat!

We had such a lovely stay at Hope Cottage – the perfect little escape right in the heart of the peaceful village of Naunton. The cottage had everything we needed, from a well-stocked kitchen with plenty of utensils and store cupboard basics, to a cosy patio where we could sit out and enjoy the sunshine. The location was brilliant for long countryside walks, and we’re already thinking about coming back in winter to make the most of the log burner! We also popped into the Black Horse pub nearby for a drink – friendly atmosphere and a great-looking menu with clearly marked gluten-free options, which was really reassuring for us. Overall, Hope Cottage was the perfect country retreat and exactly what we needed to relax and reset.

A lovely little get away

We stayed here for 2 nights. It’s a lovely quiet little location and the cottage is fitted out to a high specification. The bed is very comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. My only concern was the cleanliness - the trays in the oven hadn’t been cleaned and some of the kitchen plates etc had to be washed again before we used them. The sofa in the living room was a little smelly so could probably do with a steam clean but on the whole we had a really pleasant stay here and would recommend it.

Nice cottage, lovely location. Heater in living room didn’t seem to work but the wood burner gave plenty of warmth (but no kindling glad I brought my own!). No batteries in radio was a shame, couldn’t find any spares.

The housekeeper has confirmed that a supply of logs, kindling, and firelighters were provided, and would have been more than happy to provide you with additional supplies if needed. They’ve also let us know that the heating issue has now been resolved. As for the radio, the batteries have been replaced, and they would have been happy to do so during your stay if it was brought to their attention. We truly hope to welcome you back to the Cotswolds soon.

For the price we paid we were a bit dissapointed with our stay. We arrive to a smelly pint of milk in a fridge that was turned off. The cottage generally smelt a bit of damp and there were lots of cobwebs, an alarm also kept going off which we couldn't locate. On the plus side its in a pretty village with lots of nice dog walks. The local pub is 'interesting!'

Your feedback has been shared with the owner, who has confirmed that the cottage was thoroughly cleaned prior to your arrival and would like to apologise for the oversight regarding the milk. They do wish you had contacted the housekeeper during your stay, as they would have been very happy to bring fresh milk, investigate the smell, clear any cobwebs, and fix the alarm for you at the time. These points are now being looked into and will be rectified as soon as possible. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back to the Cotswolds again soon.

Hope cottage.

Lovely location in quiet pretty village ,pub very friendly. There was no heating on when we arrived and the cottage was cold. There were no extra blankets, the blanket on the bed wasn’t big enough to cover both of us and it was thin, for the bed and we spent a cold 1st night. Some lamps would make the cottage lounge more cosy as the bare bulbs were harsh an too bright consequently someone before us had unscrewed some of the bulbs. There is a prominent sign in the lounge with a fictitious wi fi password on it ! My husband was able to figure out how to connect from the hub but without him I would have had no idea.
