The historic harbour has its own beach, restaurants, and pubs where you can enjoy the view whilst having a drink or a meal, ideal for trying some of the locally caught fish. Pleasure trips run from the harbour, you may be lucky enough to see dolphins, seals, and other marine life. Newquay is well known for its beautiful sandy beaches, Fistral is one of most consistent and best surfing beaches in the UK, the owner has provided racks for surfboards on the terrace. There are several dog friendly beaches in the area including Fistral, Towan, Mawgan Porth, Polly Joke as well as Great Western, which is the nearest, just a short walk from the property it has several coves.
If you want to get away from the beach, Trenance Gardens situated on the outskirts of the town has picturesque gardens, magnificent trees as well as a little tea room dating back to the 1800s. Next to the gardens is the boating lake alive with wildlife, as well as a play park great for little ones to run around. Newquay is a great place to visit all year round.
