Town: Porlock is a charming community that is within Exmoor National Park and is close to the picturesque North Somerset coast. The scenic harbour of Porlock Weir, only two miles away, offers great views across the Bristol Channel, and there are many of modest gift stores, pubs, cafes, and restaurants to be found here as well. Out of the hamlet and up a steep, twisting road, visitors can reach the Exmoor Hills, a popular destination for hikers, equestrians, and bikers, and home to wild ponies and red deer. Exmoor was named Europe's first International Dark Skies Reserve in 2011, making it a great starting point for a romantic evening spent stargazing thanks to the plethora of intriguing constellations that can be seen without any special equipment on a dark, moonless night. Fishing opportunities abound in the area surrounding Porlock, including in the nearby reservoirs and rivers of Exmoor.
