Winterton Cottages | The Old Stable

The Old Stable is a stunning single storey barn conversion, with views over open countryside. Located in rural East Somerton, the cottage is the ideal location to get away from it all whilst being close to the coast. It's a 5 minute drive to Winterton-on-Sea, where long sandy beaches await.

Inside The Old Stable you'll find a modern open plan living area with a comfortable sofa and Smart TV. Plenty of space is set aside for a dining area, and the well equipped kitchen contains a cooker, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher.

A separate utility room houses the washing machine, with a back door leading to a small yard with a lockable shed for bike storage.

The main bedroom has a comfortable king size bed, and the second bedroom has two 3' single beds which can be joined together to make one superking bed. A modern bathroom has a bath and separate walk in shower.

Outside there's plenty of outdoor space with a large garden and patio area, with a charcoal barbecue available from April to the end of September for guests. There's off road parking for two cars and one dog is welcome at no additional charge. We ask that dogs are kept to living areas and off furniture. Please do not leave them unattended in the property. The garden is fully enclosed.

Robin's Rest which sleeps two is located next door, meaning these properties can be rented together, totalling 6 guests. Both properties are detached with their own separate enclosed gardens. Robin's Rest and The Old Stable also have their own three acre meadow. A private and safe area for you to exercise or walk your dog. If you wish, you can practice some golf on the mini 4-hole chipping area - just bring your clubs and balls!

Allround excellence

We have stayed here a few times now and everything is what you would wish for in a holiday cottage. In fact, it is very much a home from home. The location is very peaceful and the large enclosed garden is excellent for children and dogs. The owners have paid attention to providing a very high standard of furnishings and equipment to make the stay very comfortable. We can thoroughly recommend this property.

Wonderful stay

The old stable is a fantastic place to stay in Norfolk. Super clean, garden is huge, and only minutes away from local beaches. The decor inside is very tastefully done, beds very comfortable, lounge and dining areas very spacious. Highly recommended

Perfect location to explore the east Norfolk coast

A very clean and well equipped cottage, close to Winterton-on-Sea and Hemsby. Ideal for those staying with a dog as the garden is safely enclosed and the paddock provides an excellent additional resource for stretching your furry friends legs. With everything working perfectly this property is the best rental we have experienced in the area so would recommend and hope to return.

First class visit

We have stayed here a number of times and are always very impressed by the high standard of everything. It is very well equipped, extremely clean and comfortable, and the large secure garden is great for the dogs. It is also only a short drive to the lovely beach at Winterton. We look forward to many more visits!

Lovely house - would highly recommend

This was our second visit to The Old Stable and I would highly recommend. The house was clean, well equipped and had everything you’d need. The garden is huge and a fantastic place for children (and dogs) to run around in - with a lovely view of the fields - we spotted a few deer in the distance too! The welcome visit was a very nice touch too! We really loved our stay there. There is a lot to do within the area, Winterton beach is lovely and just short distance away.

The Old Stable was a fantastic property. Everything was new and clean. It had a fantastic garden which our dog enjoyed and there was a field at the back which you could exercise your dog aswell. Lovely and quiet with countryside views.Winterton on Sea very close with a wonderful beach and walks along the coastal path.Lovely pub and Tearoom in the village and a lovely cafe on the beach carpark. We had a lovely holiday and will defineatly return again. Thankyou to the owners for such a wonderful place.

I want to live here !

What a lovely place. So perfect for our needs. The big secure garden was brilliant for us and the dogs, and the paddock next door was great for a quick walk before heading to the beach. Well stocked kitchen, really comfy beds and sofa and nice bathroom. The second loo was very handy. Lots of storage space for coats and boots which was brilliant as our coats were very wet the first two days. We will return.

Happy Holidays

We had a lovely week at The Old Stable, the weather has been amazing. We stayed here last year, but this year my Aunt & Uncle have been staying in Robin's Rest. The barn is well equipped, lovely and clean and very well presented. We love staying here but a few tweaks would be nice, e.g. a new sofa, a couple of fans (it has been very hot in the barn this week even with the windows open) and also summer weight duvets would be appreciated in the main summer months (June to September). If the garden was as well equipped as next door (Robin's Rest) it would be perfect. Freddie (cocker spaniel) has loved every minute in the garden and thank you for making him so welcome. The welcome pack was a lovely touch.
