A superb private villa set in the very centre of the historic old town.

The stunning Casa do Governador offers a rare opportunity as it is one of the few properties set in the centre of the old town offering total seclution, with gardens, a large swimming pool and private parking for several vehicles. This property really is a jewel in the heart of Lagos.

The accommodation has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, it is fully air conditioned and has a large open plan living space for all of the family to enjoy.

Outside there are private gardens, terracing with a BBQ for al-fresco dining and roof top sea views.

The beach is just a 2 minute walk away and all of the amenities that Lagos has to offer are right on your doorstep.

The Governor's House was absolutely beautiful and ideal for our family stay. Its location within the city walls of Lagos made it super accessible to the town center as well as many nearby beaches and excursion spots. The home was spacious, the pool was wonderful, and the grapefruit and orange trees in the yard were a pleasant surprise. We all really enjoyed our stay and hope to return again.

This is a spacious rental with an amazing location. House was very clean, beds were great and whole house is air conditioned. Kitchen is well equipped and having laundry machines was an added bonus. Bathrooms were also well equipped and clean. Great outdoor spaces but really needed a cleaning. We couldn't really utilize the roof deck during our stay. Also the pool was not usable during our stay due to a need for cleaning. The pool was cleaned on our last full day and looked great afterwards.

The property is amazing, plenty of space, well equipped and great outdoor space. Beautifully large quirky house. Lovely open plan for a family holiday. Location is exceptionall, very central, within walking distance of many fabulous restaurants, but is still very quite and peaceful. Would definitely book again, if it werent spoiled on our return by the unprofessional management company "Algarve Retreats". They would not return our safety deposit because one of the umbrellas blew over and got damaged because of the notorious Portugese winds. They since charged us for two umbrellas, total scam artists. They maintained we should have supervised the umberellas, despite the fact that they were closed and we had gone out for lunch. Such a shame. Dont let it put you off the property but be aware of Algarve Retreats unscrupulous tactics. We would definitely book the property again but only if i could use another professional company and not Algarve Retreats.

We’re genuinely pleased to hear that you found the property spacious, well-equipped, and ideally located for your family holiday. It’s always rewarding to know that guests enjoy the unique character and setting of the home. That said, we were disappointed to read your comments regarding the damage deposit and the management of the umbrella incident. We want to address this matter clearly and fairly. As outlined in our terms and conditions, which all guests agree to prior to their stay, any damage to the property or its contents—whether accidental or not—may result in a partial or full deduction from the security deposit. In this instance, the umbrellas were unfortunately not properly secured, and the damage was beyond minor wear and tear. The fact is that the umbrellas were left open all day even though you, from your own experience know that there is a notorious breeze / wind in Lagos. We understand this may have come as an unwelcome surprise, but the decision was based on the cost of replacement and in line with our standard procedures—not as a punitive measure. Only the actual replacement cost of the damaged items was deducted. We absolutely regret that this marred your overall experience. However, we stand by the professionalism of our team and our responsibility to maintain the property to a high standard for all guests. Regards, Algarve Retreats
