Stay in this fantastic Edwardian cottage overlooking the water where you can launch a SUP board directly from the garden! Newly decorated with a brand new kitchen offering an amazing view over the water. Walking distance of the town centre, many local pubs and independent restaurants, this pet-friendly family home with EV charger is the perfect base. Easily visit the nearby cities of Portsmouth, Southampton and Winchester. Our reviews speak for themselves and you won't be disappointed!!

No. 9 is a waterside cottage in the town of Fareham situated at the top of Portsmouth Harbour. This cosy family home offers everything you could need for a family getaway. There are three bedrooms, one with a super king bed when locked together or two singles when apart, one with a double bed and a third with bunk beds. There is a living room, separate dining room and kitchen along with a family bathroom, an additional downstairs toilet and utility room.

Outside, the cottage overlooks the tidal Fareham Creek which is now part of the English Coastal Path, an SSSI area frequented by egrets, cormorants, herons and other wading birds, yet you are only a five-minute walk from the town centre where you will find a large selection of pubs, cafes, independent restaurants and takeaways. The local recreation ground is 100 metres from the front door, it is the home of Fareham and Crofton Cricket Club. There is a children’s play area and plenty of space to exercise four legged visitors.

If you want to get out on the Creek you can hire stand up paddle boards and kayaks from Fareham Marina. Perhaps you prefer to watch the on-water activities, so head down to the quayside in the picturesque village of Hamble 10 miles away, grab a coffee at the waterside café and watch the yachts on one of the busiest waterways in England.

Our conveniently located property offers excellent transportation options for exploring the surrounding area. You'll find that it's just one mile from J11 of the M27, making it easily accessible by car. Additionally, the mainline station is also a mere mile away, ensuring convenient train travel. For those relying on public transportation, the bus station is just a ten-minute walk away and serves National Express routes, as well as regular routes to Portsmouth, Southampton, and Winchester.

Portsmouth, a vibrant city with attractions like the Historic Dockyard, museums, Spinnaker Tower, waterfront, and Gunwharf Quays shopping outlet, is a short ten-mile drive away. From there, you can catch a ferry or hovercraft to the Isle of Wight for a day trip. Alternatively, head west to Southampton, the UK's cruise center, and explore its historic walls. A bit farther, you can venture into the beautiful New Forest, visit Exbury Gardens, explore the Beaulieu Motor Museum, and, of course, delight in the magic of Peppa Pig World at Paulton's Park.

If you're longing for the beach, the nearest ones are just six miles away at Lee on the Solent and Hill Head. For a family-friendly adventure, Marwell Zoo is a short 30-minute drive. As for parking, there's space available for one small car on the driveway, and we can provide an additional permit for another car if needed. Plus, for electric vehicle owners, there's an EV charger on-site for a small fee; please let us know when booking if you'd like to use it.

Within the vicinity, you'll find various leisure centers, an ice rink in Gosport, an indoor climbing center at Red Spider Climbing Centre, and indoor go-karting just two miles away. If you're in the mood for a movie, the cinema in Fareham is within a 10-minute walk, and there are additional options at Port Solent and Whiteley. For those interested in the arts, theaters like the Kings Theatre in Portsmouth, Theatre Royal in Portsmouth, Mayflower in Southampton, and Chichester Festival Theatre are all easily accessible.

History enthusiasts will appreciate Fort Nelson, a Royal Armouries museum just three miles away, as well as Portchester Castle, an English Heritage site also three miles from the property.
