The lounge area is perfect for relaxation, furnished with plush sofas set around a wood-burning stove—just the thing for unwinding after a day of exploration. Upstairs, the first-floor hosts two double bedrooms, each with built-in wardrobes and TVs, as well as a sleek shower room with a rainforest shower. On the top floor, you’ll find the versatile zip-and-link bedroom, which can be configured as twin beds or a superking.

The cottage enjoys a prime location surrounded by local amenities, including a delightful cake shop just a few doors down, where fresh bakes are crafted daily. Within walking distance, you’ll find cozy eateries, inviting pubs, and a Co-op for groceries. The cottage also benefits from a private parking bay right at the doorstep, ideal for easy access during your stay.

Butcher’s Hook Cottage is ideally located for exploring the Yorkshire coastline. To the north lies Skinningrove, a quiet beach with golden sands and a rich mining heritage preserved in the local museum. Saltburn, a surfer’s paradise with a Victorian pier, offers a lively atmosphere and thrilling wave-riding action. Further south, you’ll find the picturesque village of Staithes, renowned for its art galleries and annual festival, and Runswick Bay—a favourite for seaside relaxation. From there, follow the coast to Sandsend and Whitby, where historic cobblestone streets lead up 199 steps to the abbey overlooking the sea. Nature lovers will revel in the Cleveland Way, a coastal trail linking these stunning bays, or can explore the North York Moors, with scenic walks through heather-covered hills and woodland, or enjoy a steam train ride for a panoramic view.
