Thank you Jennifer and friends for the 5 Star Review of Local Culture in The Picayune Building. We cannot express how this is the perfect location to all that downtown New Orleans has to offer. Thinking about how this was the original home of the Daily Picayune Newspaper, later to merge into the Times-Picayune, still in print today, the newspapers were in the center of the city so reporters and journalist were able to get around town, get the latest news and stories, get it back to be type set, printed and out to be sold on the streets. With this building built pre Civil War, just think about that even, it has withstood so much history, reading the actual framed printed newspapers in each condo, that tells the stories of New Orleans, our people, traditions, and cultures. Thanks for the shout out to our amazing housekeeping krewes, that make your accommodations clean and comfortable. We could not make it without them! When you are ready to make another visit, maybe revisit that new favorite restaurant, you know where to stay. Thank you Christina and friends for the 5 Star Review of Local Culture , in The Picayune Building. We just cannot say how much this is the best location for all of the downtown New Orleans attractions! You can walk to most everything in about 15 minutes. When you realize it was the original home of The Daily Picayune Newspaper, later to become the Times-Picayune Newspaper, still in print today, it all ties together, that this very centralized location was easy for those 1850's journalist to walk or ride a streetcar to get those news stories and town gossips, get back to the building, write up, type set for print, printed and out on the streets to be sold early mornings or end of day, well, just cannot beat staying on "newspaper row". We are 3 blocks to Canal Blvd, cross Canal and you are in the French Quarter, but that is far enough away so you don't hear that 24/7 chaos of loud music, voices and who wants to hear all those street cleaning vehicles and delivery trucks back up alarms starting at 3 AM? When you understand the history of the building, built in the early to mid 1800"s, as the newspaper building, that is self explanatory as to why it IS the prefect location to all there is to go, do, see and eat in downtown New Orleans. Three blocks to the French Quarter, 4 blocks to the Mississippi River. Six blocks to the WWII Museum, 8 blocks to the Superdome or Smoothie King Center Arena, Saenger Theatre, Jackson Square, St. Louis Cathedral, French Market ( Cafe Du Monde coffee & beignets) and 1 block over from the iconic St Charles Ave. ( GREEN ) streetcars. This property has one private bedroom and 2 bedrooms that have giant gaping holes in the wall (and in one case no door) to common areas. It is completely unacceptable to list this as a 3 bedroom.I would never stay here again

Well Colin, we are sad that you didn't enjoy this spacious three bedroom / 3 bath , two story condo. Perhaps you might not understand that to maintain the Historical nature of this 175 year old building, which was originally The Daily Picayune Newspaper, later to become the Times -Picayune Newspaper, still in print today, moved to the current St. Charles Ave location in 1969. In keeping true to the architecture of the building, those "gaping holes" are in fact transom openings, to allow for air flow within the building, before there was ever air conditioning. If those had actual glass in them or a door for mezzanine level bedroom, there would not be good airflow, not would it keep the Historical Stature. All historic buildings in downtown New Orleans, must keep certain original features, transoms' are one of those, as is the medallions used on buildings that are more than 3 stories tall. It is a shame that you would never stay here again, given the rich history and exceptional location, walkability to all downtown New Orleans has to offer visitors. We do thank you for your time to write us 3 sentences, offering 1 star for your opinions. We will keep our Premiere Property Host status, since 2012.

Location was perfect, we came for Halloween parade and were able to walk 2 blocks to get a good spot. Having a bathroom for every bedroom was very nice!

We cannot express what a perfect location the 1850's building is to all there is to do, see and eat in the heart of New Orleans. Remember this location if you decide to come back during either weekend of Mardi Gras rolling parades. 90% of the parades are on streets that surround the building; St. Charles, Canal Blvd & Tchoupitoulas, all within a 1, 3 or 2 block away, which is perfect, because during parades, the most important thing to know is "where's the restroom?". When staying here, your clean restroom is back at your condo, where you can also grab a snack or beverage refills, and maybe miss 1 series of marching bands, dance troupes and a float and be back out to your spot!

When you realize the history of this being the newspaper building built in the 1850's operating here until 1969, the perfect location to all there is to go, do, see and eat in downtown New Orleans, all makes sense. It's hard to understand that this is a two story condo, with over 1800 Sq Ft, and have so much room for six, well, sure beats the heck out of a tiny cramped hotel room! Having the full kitchen is a bonus, if you don't eat out every meal, but can be great if you bring any of that scrumptious food back with you, as a late night snack! When is the return visit? Awesome place and location.

Perfect location. Easy walk to French Quarter and Riverwalk. Great restaurants all around. The beds were super comfortable and the condo was super nice.

It's a good thing The Picayune Building is so close to the many attractions in New Orleans, because walking around in this heat and humidity in July can be very strenuous. Good thing we leave a few bottles of water and Gatorade in the fridge for you to start hydrating as soon as you arrive, after long travels. Those mattresses are from The Foam Factory. They kinda let you melt into them and cradle you like a baby to sleep. Fantastic Mardi Gras base camp!

Our family had a wonderful time in Picayun 401! No better place for parades and French Quarter access.

Fun birthday trip!

This place was perfect for our group! Good location, convenient to the quarter, but not too noisy. Definitely recommend!

Perfect location to enjoy NOLA!

The condo was beautiful, very clean, comfortable, and well Iocated. Barbara was an amazing host and communicator. We felt like we were staying at a friend's place, she was so welcoming and informative.
