The location was perfect. The apartment was perfect. The only mishap was an issue with check in but Barbara fixed it as soon as she could. I would 100% stay here again.

The condo is beautiful! The building is well maintained. The host was super communicative and helpful. the host included little extras that most do not, trash bags, laundry soap, etc. So nice! We stayed Mardi Gras weekend, so it was a bit noisy, but that is to be expected. If you are looking for a fantastic place to stay in the middle of it all and walk to all of the parades, this is the place for you. The parades are right around the corner! Easy walk to the French Quarter. Highly recommend!

We cannot convey how this is the perfect location to all there is to do, see and eat in downtown New Orleans. Understanding that this was the original home of the Daily Picayune Newspaper, it all comes together, that the journalist needed to get out there to get the stories and bring it ack to be typeset and printed, for the newsies to go sell the paper on the streets of New Orleans. It is well known that this building is "in the box" during Carnival season, and 90% of the parades can easily be walked to by no more than 3 blocks to see & feel the excitement or craziness and catch a few beads, but so much more than a few strands of beads. The first night we stayed there was a leak in the downstairs bathroom, which of course was annoying. But our biggest surprise came the next day when we discovered a very large cockroach on the ceiling in the living room. This left us feeling our food was vulnerable and we put everything in the refrigerator. We paid far too much money to deal with these issues.

Oh gosh Mark, we leave you with a couple of emergency contact phone numbers, yet no one received a call from you about any water leaking. If it was that bad, it would have been nice to know about this and we could have moved you to a different condo, and made any repair needed. Housekeeping nor maintenance found any leaks after this review was posted, a day after your departure. You were notified that monthly Pest Control would be in process the day after your check in. Here again, we did not get any calls from you about this sighting. It takes pest control about 4 hours to service this building, and I am sure were still there, when you noticed this palmetto bug. They do live here and thrive in the humidity of the South. Sounds like this one needed a license plate and headlights. These will sometimes come inside if the balcony doors are left open. How are we to assist you with issues, when we were not notified while you were still in New Orleans? We only find out after you had gotten home and in a review. We are sad you did not have a pleasant experience in The Picayune Building. At least you were in a wonderful city that is rich in culture, history, traditions and food, staying in a location so very walkable to all there is to do, see, and eat.

A great place to stay for a NO weekend. It’s walking distance to the streetcars, French quarter, Bourbon Street. The unit was very clean, and comfortable. The manager was quite responsive and helpful both before and during our stay. We would definitely stay here again.

Host was amazing! We had a small maintenance issue the first morning and she promptly moved us into a larger and even more beautiful condo! Every question was addressed immediately. Walking distance to “everything” and if too far ti walk the street cars are a few blocks away. Condo was clean and very nice. We stayed in the “Front Page News”. Absolutely loved looking and reading the old news papers.

Fantastic stay

Wonderful stay. Staff was awesome to work with. Concierge service was great to arrive all set up. Great location to be walking distance to everything. Very clean and spacious condo. Rooms were huge and great layout.

Thank you Jessica and friends for the 5 Star Review of Vintage Advertisements in the The Picayune building, the 1850's built original home to the newspaper, where we themed the condos after sections of the newspaper. So glad you had a fantastic stay. We cannot express enough, what a perfect location this building is to all there is to see, go, and eat while in downtown New Orleans. Yes, everything is so very walkable! Our addition of the Grocery Concierge Service started during 2020, well, actually during football season of 2019, for our regulars that come in to tailgate. Although New Orleans has some of the best foods, the world over, but it's still good to have a few snacks, munchies, bottles of water or adult beverages already in the condo, so you can start your vacation and relaxations, as soon as you get inside. Thanks for the mention to our detail orientated housekeeping krewes that keep this 175 year old building in the best shape it can be. It is amazing that visitors still opt to stay in a cramped hotel room instead of almost 1200 sq ft of room to spread out in and having a second bathroom, even better! Great Stay

The unit was very clean and in a great location. Close enough to the French Quarter to be accessible, but far enough to avoid the noise. VacayNOLA staff were very responsive and always available. Would definitely stay here or at another of there properties again!

Best Possible Rental

Our family of 4 rented this property for a long weekend. It was absolutely perfect. Beautiful property, awesome location. The property manager was so helpful and kind, they left a lot of thoughtful supplies, and we used the concierge grocery delivery service before we arrived, which was fabulous. Highly recommend!

Thank you Wendy and family for the 5 Star Review of The Picayune Building, Vintage Advertisements and our VacayNOLA Team. We cannot express what a perfect location this is. When you understand it was the original 1850's built home of The Daily Picayune Newspaper, later to become "Times - Picayune", the newspaper building had to be in the middle of town to get the news from where it was happening, back to the building, written, typeset and printed for it to then be sold, for maybe a nickel? that evening or in the morning. Yes, we do leave packets of ground French Market Coffee for the drip coffee makers, a few waters and Gatorades, for when you first get here, to start hydrating after traveling or cool off if you are not prepared for our humidity levels, but better, who doesn't love some Mardi Gras throws as souvenirs? The grocery service started with our Saints Season Ticket holders ready to tailgate and not have to spend precious time shopping for beverages, snacks, fruit, munchies or anything. You order and pay for items you desire and we pick it up and place in the condo, fridge, freezer or in the pantry or counter top. So glad you took advantage of that service! Quick trip to Nola

Fabulous location, quiet, clean, well appointed. Our family loved this apt and would go back any time we are in the big easy!

Great Property!

Place was just as described and is in a great location and in walking distance to everything! We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again. Communication was great and Barbara provided a lot of information if the area and things to do.

Thank you Laura for the 5 Star Review. The Picayune Building IS the perfect location to all there is to do, go, see and EAT in downtown New Orleans. Walking to where you want to be is the best, as long as you can stay out of the pop-up thunderstorms and stay dry. So glad you trusted Barbara about things to check out while in our beloved City.

Mardi Gras 2025

Great location. The condo was perfect. It had everything we needed and plenty of space. The property manager was excellent to with during the whole process.
