Excellent location and very clean.

We were blown away by the location, right on the beach! We took a day trip to Bald Head Island and it was fantastic. The house is only a 5 or 10 minute drive to the ferry. Highly recommend Loco Joe's as well for great food. Our family of 3 stayed very comfortably in the house. The owner was friendly, responsive, and courteous.

Sunrises & Sunsets all from the same deck!!!

Location Location Location! What makes this property so unique, is the way the house is positioned on the lot. While there are other properties near by, the privacy of this house makes it a gem! From the moment you walk in the view will immediately let you know you made the right choice. LOVED our stay! Beach walks, ocean air, and the sound of the waves reaching the shore made for a very relaxing vacation. Beatrice was great with communication and gave great recommendations.

Location, Location!!!

Great Views and the location was amazing!! House was very clean. Great for a long weekend. Short walk to the beach!! Nice little yard for our dog! Would bring your own sheets, the linen service did provide bedding, but didn't fit properly. Other than that little blimp, we had a great time and definitely would go back during off season, we like the quiet!! Basically had the beach to our selves and our dog got to run and run and run!!

Cozy home with incredible views.

We loved this beach house. It has a large window in the living room where you can see the ocean from the living room and kitchen constantly. Also great ocean viewing in the bedroom windows. The home is clean and comfortable. There is a nice restaurant in walking distance. We got to see sea turtles released to the ocean while on our visit and knew about the nests information from the owners. They gave lots of detailed information on how to see them. We loved our stay here and would stay here again.

Wow What a View!

loved staying in this home, felt like you were sitting over the Ocean! Beautiful Sunrises and Sunsets . Home was very comfortable and offered everything you needed. My sisters and I purchased fresh seafood from Haag and Sons right down the street and cooked at home and eat overlooking the Ocean. The pictures and home are everything offered and more. Perfect Location, Spotless, and Updated

This is by far the best place we have ever stayed as a family. We have been coming back for several years now and there is always updates being made. This year we saw a unique sand dollar table. All of the sand dollars were found right at the beach-footsteps away. What a great addition to the cottage. As always, we love coming to a place that is so clean. This year, one of our favorite memories was the dolphin sighting. After your stay, you will want to book your next trip back.

Owner Unwilling to negotiate refund due to corona virus.

The property was very nice with an excellent location and view. We had to leave due to the corona virus and the owner was unwilling to communicate or negotiate a refund. We paid for 14 days and stayed only 2. The owner became hostile when we requested a refund.

Awesome place

My husband and I spent almost 2 weeks of blissful relaxation at this beach house. The weather was perfect including a spectacular storm. The house is accurately described in the listing and was immaculate. We entertained ourselves with hours of beach walking, trying local restaurants and a bit of sightseeing. Don't miss Southport and Bald Head island. Our daughter-in-law and grandchildren (ages 1 and 4) visited for a few days and the ferry trip to Fort Fisher and the aquarium there was a perfect day trip with them. Other than that all the kids wanted to do was to play in the sand and run from the waves. Wonderful memories. Definitely recommended!!

Beautiful view and location!

This was a perfect place for our family for a long weekend get away! We wanted to spend some quiet time by the beach and that is exactly what we got. We were just a few steps away from the beach. There was a beautiful view of the ocean from every room in the home. Everything was so beautifully decorated and clean. We loved that it was pet friendly as well. Our Bichon loved the place! We loved that there we books and puzzles in the buffet. We had a delicious lunch at a nearby restaurant called Shagger Jacks and had homemade ice cream from Sweet Treats for dessert which was also nearby. There are many restaurants and boutiques within a short drive of this lovely home. We’re planning to come back again this summer! Thank you!

Location! Location! Location!

What a treat! This location is so amazing! We booked last minute as our family reunion was postponed this summer. Talk about a winning plan b!! The home sits right on the beach! You can see in the photos that even when you are inside - you still know you're at the beach. Such easy access that I almost felt guilty watching everyone else lug their supplies back and forth with such effort. And it seems little, but having a hose right there to clean up before going back inside was a major bonus for the whole family (which includes our dog who thoroughly enjoyed her first trip to the ocean). The owners are kind and very responsive. We had a lovely time. Thank you for sharing this gem with us!

EVERY ROOMS HAS A VIEW!

We had a WONDERFUL week at Atlantic Blue. EVERY room has a view of the ocean which was truly priceless. My husband and I had to work every day but the the large windows with ocean views made us feel like we were ON the beach, even when we were not. The close proximity to the beach access was a real game changer because we could run back and forth to the house if we forgot something. I worried the public access would mean lots of people and traffic but the house was very quiet. And there is not a lot of foot or car traffic. The kitchen had all the pot, bowls, utensils, etc we needed. Plus the view. Did I mention the view? We plan to make Atlantic Blue our family's new vacation home each summer!

Wonderful Birthday Long Weekend

Great trip, House location is great! Southport - Tours - Ask about the historical tour with the REV! A+ Dinner - Island Way - Food was good but we had terrible services. To the point that other waiters noticed and stop to say they were sorry. Management ended up paying for the entire meal. Frying Pan downtown Southport was good, Fly Fish for fun lunch. Owners of the property are very quick at getting back to you. Just down the beach, (Walking distance on the beach) restaurant/bar called Turtles - Must go have a beer! Just bar food and be prepared to meet friendly interesting people. We played bags outside and enjoyed the music. I loved being there in April as the beach was ours! Sad to leave Tuesday!

Two weeks flew by!

Have to say I we agree with all the other reviews we read....location, location, location is what this place is all about. Practically on the beach literally. Stayed two weeks, loved the place. Definitely cozy due to size as advertised, but added to the charm as well. Amazing amount of cool sights, especially all the turtle nests, I think about 5 or 6 within 500 yards of the property. Great walk to the pier as well and had a great date night while enjoying KoKo Cabana the second Thursday. Treat to walk to and from dinner for sure. Also, have to say the property allows dogs (one of the main reasons we chose this property) but you would never know that was the case. We made sure our pups kept it that way also. Such a treat, we hope to make it back next year for sure. We also ferried over to Bald Head Island one day with our bikes and had an adventure, really a fun excursion as well. This enchanting cottage has the best view around. Easiest possible access to the Beach.

The Atlantic Blue cottage is a home away from home. The cottage has a very private, cozy, warm, bright, relaxing, and tranquil atmosphere. It has the easiest access possible to the beach with the best view around. You can even see a lighthouse from the back porch. The living room has an amazing picture view of the ocean that you could get lost looking out for hours. The master bedroom also has an amazing view that you can see while lying in bed. Even the second bedroom has an amazing view, especially when the sun is setting. The cottage has a full bathroom and half bath that kept very clean and neat. The washer and dryer are new and very easy to use. The full kitchen allows for you to make home cooked meals while enjoying a beautiful view of the ocean. The porch is very large and has a lot of birdwatching potential and allows for you to see a bunch of animal activity. This cottage is very enchanting and makes for an excellent place to get away. When you stay at the Atlantic Blue, you will never want to leave. With this in mind, make sure to book your stay longer than you initially intended.

Our New Favorite Place

We are seasoned oceanfront renters and have stayed many places from Cape Cod to Miami, and this is absolutely our family of four's favorite vacation house (this includes two teenage sons!). The pictures are accurate...unparalleled views and privacy, very comfortable furniture, well-working kitchen and appliances, convenient location (just a few steps to the beach as well as to good dining in small, residential, seaside town). Parking is under the house, sheltered from sun and weather. Also under house is a clean, enclosed shower, space for beach chairs, boogie boards, and canopies to be stored out of the elements, clotheslines with clothespins for wet towels and suits, and motion-sensor lighting for taking the dog out in the evening. We had 13 days of beach...only briefly visited Southport (cute!). Homeowner is quite caring, helpful, and communicative, and has thought of everything that you could need. Our small dog was welcomed. We read books, body surfed, walked, sunbathed, and played catch on the beach all day. Restaurants we enjoyed were The BBQ House, Famous Subs and Pizza, Tranquil Harbor, and Swains Seafood (after eating in Charleston SC for the past 10 years, we can assure you these menus are absolutely comparable, fairly priced, and deserve a "wow" for legit recipes). I was pleasantly surprised by this beach after not visiting for over 30 years..it is clean, well-maintained, and the high-tide line is easy to avoid when setting up chairs and tents. We encountered no jellyfish or crazy wildlife, found easy walking sand, and quiet, well-behaved families (also with dogs) all day every day. We will be back to this house without a doubt. Four enthusiastic thumbs up from these Clevelanders (worth every minute of that 12 hour drive)!

Small beach cottage in ideal location

Location is as advertised, steps to the beach with panoramic views of the water from the deck and from the living room and master bedroom. The house is small and wouldn't work well for a larger group but for a single family it was great.

Awesome location

Our family of four had a great time at the cottage - couldn't ask for a better location, steps from the beach - and the view from the deck is simply amazing, wonderful for morning coffee and for happy hour. The beach is wide open and perfect for all ages - great for morning walks with the dog, playing in the surf and sunbathing late into the afternoon. Fishing was easy from the beach and the pier, and loved the outdoor shower! Sitting on the porch for dinner at nearby restaurant Koko Cabana was so good, we went back twice - and we also loved going to Provisions in Southport for excellent seafood by the water. The Friday night free concert i. town was also a lot of fun, and don't miss sunset on the west tip of the island - gorgeous. We also rented a pontoon boat on the intracoastal which made for a great day trip. Beatrice was so helpful with recommendations - our only regret was we missed the turtles hatching - but we will be back!

Atlantic Blue is the perfect location for a relaxing vacation!

Atlantic Blue was absolutely perfect for our family vacation. It was very clean, charming and the location was fantastic! We really appreciate the fact that we were able to enjoy nature at it's finest...the beach, ocean and wildlife. My 10yr old son couldn't get enough of skim boarding, fishing, crabbing & swimming in the ocean. My 2yr old autistic son found a new love of the ocean. It was very relaxing & calming for him, which is a huge therapeutic plus in this momma's book! My elderly mother, who was recovering from a recent hospitalization was able to enjoy the beach & ocean from the deck of the cottage and the amazing picture window in the living room. There is just something magical & healing about the beach & ocean that cannot be described. Beatrice was an absolute pleasure to work with and she was extremely knowledgeable in all aspects of sea turtle care & conservation (to name a few). Being able to witness baby Sea Turtles hatch and make their way to the ocean has been on my bucket list as far back as I can remember. I was able to sit and observe a nest for 3 hrs before a storm came through. Even though I didn't get to witness this first hand on this stay, (you can't control nature) I gained a wealth of knowledge to prepare me for next season! We highly recommend Atlantic Blue for a relaxing vacation experience.

Excellent location and beautiful beach

The location of this house is outstanding. The beach is beautiful with generally calm water for the NC coast, a wide beach, and is not overcrowded. The house is right next to the access point for the beach, which has a small parking area for others to access the beach. Despite this, the beach was never crowded. The owner was very responsive and helpful. She was very interested in ensuring we had a great time and offered suggestions for seeing the sea turtles. The house itself is older, but clean and generally well maintained. The appliances in the kitchen need to be updated, and I discussed this with the owner. The dishwasher does not clean the dishes, only two burners work on the stove, and the toaster doesn't work. Since we cooked all of our meals in the house, this was a bit annoying. The owner told me she was going to look into getting all of this fixed. Other than the kitchen, this is a 5 star rental with a great location and very helpful owner.

Absolutely amazing views!

We enjoyed our stay so much! The house is located right at the beach. My granddaughter who is almost 2 easily walked with us. We sat in the porch every morning sipping coffee and watching the waves. We cooked two dinners while we were there and we had everything we needed. Our Labrador loved swimming. We will be back!!

late winter at the beach

the house has wide views and no houses next door. In very chilly breezes, the decks on two sides mean that one can still sit in a protected sunny spot and look at the wide expanse of beach and ocean. lots of birds and a wonderful supply of cookware.

We had such a wonderful time! The house is perfect for a family looking to get away and enjoy the beach. Its a beautiful property (Inside and out) right on the beach - you really can’t get much better than that.

Perfect beach vacation

The house was perfect for us! The pictures don't do the house and the location justice, it was better than described. The house is updated with beautiful colors and great (and comfortable) furniture. It was the perfect romantic getaway, and we still had room for the adult kids to pop in for a couple of days. The deck overlooking the ocean is our new "happy place" and we can't wait to come back for another visit! Oak Island and the surrounding areas are a real treasure on the NC coast; great people, great food, beautiful beaches, and all of the peace and relaxation that a soul needs! Many thanks to our wonderful hosts!

We are beach lovers-and my friends call me the Sweet Queen of the Turtle Kingdom because we have seen three 300 pound loggerhead turtles lay their nests walking distance from the cottage! We help our interested guests know when turtle nests hatch, etc. My husband and I love walking the beach at sunset, and our family and friends enjoy visiting us on the large deck!

We wanted a cottage by the sea. This one has no neighbors between us and the ocean and no close neighbors on either side. We love the open, panoramic view that can be seen from all the rooms in the house. The L-shaped deck allows us to choose a spot with the perfect breeze and temperature all year round. We searched for over 10 years to find this dream location and charming cottage. Our neighbor two houses away was featured on HGTV on Island Life. All our guests notice that we have a "back to nature" feeling, but are really close to absolutely anything you might need on a vacation.

The options with this cottage are endless. If you want to just relax, many of our guests enjoy the deck all day long. If you want adventure, you can rent bikes, kayaks, paddle boards (phone number on fridge) or even jump out of plane. You can take airplane and helicopter tours, explore charming South Port, shop in Myrtle Beach or take the Ferry to many locations, including Bald Head Island. There are many fabulous restaurants, and you can even find an art class just a few blocks away!
