Casa Caterina es parte de una granja restaurada que tiene un jardín maduro, plantado con arbustos de lavanda y olivos, y, por supuesto, una piscina privada (abierta del 15 de mayo al 15 de octubre). This is a beautiful, well maintained and well equipped property in a lovely location. The views and sunsets from the terrace are amazing. There are large ceiling fans in the living room and both bedrooms. The pool was perfect for cooling off in the heat. Filippo was most helpful with our questions. Thank you to Caterina and Marco also.

Pictures of this beautiful property do not do it justice….everything about Casa Caterina is better in person! Well equipped, spotless and charmingly decorated….we ate in, we dined in the local village and day tripped to all of Chianti famous villages…perfect location! Should you find this gem available….book it!

Wonderful object in great surrounding

You have everything you need for a perfect holiday in this house! The view from the terrace is simply stunning, the pool always offers refreshment after interesting trips. The owners are very nice and helpful persons, always approachable in case you need something.

Amazing!

CasaCaterina was perfect! The house was clean, showers were roomy, and the bed comfortable! What a beautiful location! The weather was great, so we were able to use the pool after our daily adventures! Filippo, Caterina and Marco met us when we arrived to show us around. And Filippo kept in contact with us just in case we needed anything! The newly renovated Kitchen was perfect for the light cooking we did! Such a peaceful location! We were blessed to spend part of our travels here!

Amazing stay in Chianti

We stayed in Catherina's house in June 2012. It was an amazing vacation. The place is very clean, peaceful and very beatiful. Kids enjoed the pool at the evening. The house is in a perfect location for vising many places around -Pisa, Siena, Florence, Volterra . Owners are very nice and helpful people. Thank you Catherina and Marco!

A lovely private getaway

Casa Caterina is even more impressive than the photos. The hosts were lovely, helpful, and quick to respond to any questions/concerns. The pool is clean and refreshing, and the home is perfectly located to make easy day trips all around Tuscany and Florence. The scenery is amazing and we loved just sitting on the deck and enjoying the fresh air/views. We had such a wonderful time during our stay and would recommend this location to couples and families alike. It's a perfect choice for a relaxing holiday!

Fantastic property in Chianti

Super located, watching the sunsets from the terrace is fantastic. In the small Barberino Val d'Elsa there are great places to eat and a winery with direct sales. What more could you want? Filippo is available (also in English) with advice and assistance. Gladly again!

Wonderful vacation in a wonderful house

Casacaterina was exactly as pictured in the listing and we could not have been more comfortable. The views from the windows and from the upper terrace were just magical. As advertised, the sunsets were magnificent and many photos bear witness to them! Casacaterina is so well situated for sightseeing in the Chianti region and beyond. We would recommend this villa wholeheartedly. The house was perfect and so well equipped with everything we could need. We were two retired couples who enjoy travelling as well as having the privacy and flexibility afforded by a self-catering villa such as Casacaterina. Thank you Caterina and Marco for everything!

Home Away from Home

Our stay at Casa Catarina was very enjoyable. The house was everything we hoped for and the amenities were excellent. We would recommend it to anyone who wants to explore Tuscany. The central location makes it easy to get to Florence, Siena, Lucca, Pisa and the many small towns around the area. Food shopping at the co-op store in Tavernelle was easy and convenient and having full kitchen facilities made it easy to cook for ourselves when we wangted to do so. Fillipo and his parents were excellent hosts and the house was clean when we arrived and very comfortable to stay in. We enjoyed our meals on the balcony overlooking the valley with vinyards and olive groves. The sunset each evening was magnificent.

Didn’t want to leave!

I can’t say enough good things about this property and the hosts, Filippo (English speaking) and parents Caterina & Marco. The location is perfect, we stayed 2 weeks and visited Florence 6-7 times as well as the surrounding Medieval Villages, countryside and wineries of the Chianti Region. Not only is everything immaculate, they have thoughtfully supplied everything you could need for the stay. We weren’t really looking to have a private swimming pool, but what a great plus, we used it often and enjoyed the shady yard as well. The large patio is amazing with 270° views forever. Yes, you need a car, but it’s minutes to the grocery store and town of Tavarnelle with its several restaurants. Truly a memorable stay, hope to come back!!

Thank you Filippo, Caterina, and Marco! What a beautiful, comfortable, amazing place to spend a week in Tuscany. The view is breathtaking, the villa large, clean, well appointed and so well cared for. Being centrally located we explored many of the surrounding towns and visited local vineyards. We loved the lower patio and pool for those hot days and enjoyed the upper terrace each morning for coffee and each evening for the spectacular sunsets. Watching the sunsets with a glass of local wine and watching the hot air balloons with our morning coffee were highlights. Word cannot explain the beauty of the view from the terrace. You are wonderful hosts and we cannot wait to return.

Can't Wait to Go Back

You never really know what you will get when you rent online, but Casa Caterina far exceeded our expectations! The home is spacious, quiet, spotless, and very comfortable, as we had hoped. But we never expected the spectacular view of the Chianti hills that greeted us as we rounded the corner to the home. We were greeted by Caterina and Marco, and were given all kinds of help by Fillipo, both before and during our stay. Tavernelle is great, central location, with easy access to the main roads. We had also considered staying in Greve in Chianti, which also looks central on the map. However, it was a very long, very windy ride up very steep hills to Greve...we would not have liked to do it every day. Tuscany is a beautiful place and we can't wait to go back. Jon and Linda

Memories for a lifetime

The spectacular panoramic view and sunsets of Tuscany are forever etched in my memory thanks to Casacaterina. The views were breathtaking! And to wake up to Sunday church bells in the distance was wonderful. Filippo was very helpful and communicative throughout. And were were greeted by the graciousness of Caterina and Marco. The home was cozy and quite spacious with high ceilings and tiled floors but you will find yourself spending most of your time on the large patio taking in the views of the countryside and watching the stars at night. The kitchen and baths were well equipped. And most of our home-cooked meals included all of the wonderful herbs growing in the garden. The location was perfect for getting to day trips to Siena, Montepulciano, San Gimignano and Florence. The nearby town had a well-stocked grocery store. And I wish I could remember the name of the pizzeria just a couple of miles away because there I had the best pizza of my entire 2-week stay in Italy! Grazie mille, Filippo, Caterina, and Marco. Couldn't Have Been Better!

My husband and I spent a glorious week at Casa Caterina in June 2015 to celebrate my 70th birthday. From the initial contact with Filippo, Caterina and Marco via VRBO right through our post-departure communications, our hosts could not have been warmer or more helpful in every way (the written information they provided was very complete). And the property…what a spectacular location! From the hilltop vantage point, we looked out onto beautiful vineyards and olive tree groves and other hill towns. We ate breakfast every morning on the balcony, where we sometimes saw hot air balloons overhead. And the evening sunsets were often breathtaking. The comfort of the home was outstanding. It was spacious and well-equipped, and very clean and well maintained. The photos on the site are completely accurate. Having our own swimming pool to return to after a day of sightseeing was heavenly. The location near the well-stocked COOP grocery store in Tavarnelle made shopping for food and drink easy. Probably the best thing about the house is that it is situated between Florence and Siena, making excursions to those two major cities very easy (and a must!). We also visited on easy day trips from Casa Caterina Pisa, Lucca, Barbarino val d’Elsa, Monteriggioni, Volterra, Colle de val d’Elsa, San Gimignano, Monefioralle, Greve, Panzano, Pieve de San Leolino, Castellina, Radda, and Certaldo, all with their own charm and character. I would highly recommend this property to anyone who wants to enjoy the enchantment of Tuscany up close and personal.

Die Unterkunft war sehr sauber. Die Einrichtung des Hauses ist mit sehr viel Liebe eingerichtet. Die Küche wurde komplett erneuert statt einem Gas Herd ist jetzt ein Induktionsherd eingebaut. Leider fehlt ein Ofen der bei der vorherigen Küche in den Bildern zu sehen war. Das hat aber keine Probleme gemacht. Die Lage des Hauses ist unglaublich schön. Man kann von der Dachterasse einen wunderschönen Sonnenuntergang genießen. Die Straße zum Haus ist etwas holprig, nach ein paar Touren hat man sich aber an die Schlaglöcher gewöhnt und fährt sehr vorsichtig in dem betroffenen Bereich. Am Ende der Straße ist noch ein Weingut bei dem man ein Tasting machen könnte und gemeinsam kochen kann. Dafür hat uns aber leider etwas Zeit gefehlt. Florenz, San Gimignano oder auch Siena sind von der Unterkunft mit dem Auto gut zu erreichen. Im Schnitt haben wir ca. 35min benötigt.Der Pool ist etwa 1,2m tief. Zur Größe des Pools, wir konnten entspannt zu 4. im Pool entspannen. Die Besitzer sind sehr liebenswert und hilfsbereit. Wir hoffen, dass wir bald wieder Urlaub in der Casa Caterina machen können.

Un merveilleux emplacement pour la découverte de la Toscane

Cette villa offre d’excellentes prestations. Elle est spacieuse pour 4 personnes, avec deux salles de douche et deux toilettes. De grandes garde-robes sont disponibles avec de nombreux ceintres. La terrasse est merveilleuse avec une vue magnifique sur les collines environnantes et San Gimignano. Elle est très agréable le matin et fin de journée quand le vent se lève. Elle est très bien équipée et on voit que les propriétaires ont le souci du détail (produits d’entretien disponibles sur place, anti-moustique, lits faits à l’arrivée, serviettes disponibles, etc.) C’est un bon point de depart des visites pour la Région (Florence est à 30 minutes en voitures, Sienne à 40 minutes, etc.). Cette maison est louée depuis 2012 et les propriétaires fournissent une documentation intéressante et pratique pour améliorer le séjour sur place, des livres en anglais et en italien. La communication avec le propriétaire était très rapide et efficace. Attention aux distraits (pas de lave-vaisselle ni de climatisation). En juillet, les températures sont élevés et il faut maintenir le frais comme on peut, c’est notre seul bémol, nous qui venons du Nord!

Das Haus war genau wie beschrieben. Die Kommunikation mit dem Vermieter war immer unkompliziert und direkt. Er war sehr hilfsbereit, hat unsere Fragen beantwortet und Tipps gegeben. Im Haus war alles vorhanden, was wir benötigt haben. Der Ausblick von der Dachterrasse ist wunderschön und nette Restaurants sind leicht erreichbar. Auto ist unabdingbar.

Rigtig dejligt fredeligt feriested for fire

Casacaterina er et virkelig dejligt sted at holde ferie. Huset ligger i helt rolige omgivelser og med den smukkeste udsigt over Toscanas fine landskab. Fra tagterrassen får man hver aften den smukkeste solnedgang. Huset ligger tæt på flere små hyggelige byer, og der er kun 5 minutters kørsel til det lokale rigtig lækre supermarked. Vi besøgte byerne Barberino, Siena og Cetaldo. Filippo tog rigtig godt imod os og har været nem at komme i kontakt med over WhatsApp, hvis vi havde spørgsmål. Huset var dejlig rent og pænt, og der var alt, hvad man skulle bruge. Poolen var også ren og pæn. Vi var to vennepar afsted, og det passede huset godt til. Der er to soveværelser, hvor der kan sove to på hvert. Og et badeværelse til hvert værelse. Dog skal man igennem det ene værelse for at komme ind til resten af huset. Men det gjorde ikke noget for os. Jeg kan varmt anbefale dette sted, det er et helt fantastisk sted at holde ferie, hvis man vil slappe af ved egen pool, og samtidig have mulighed for nemt at besøge små hyggelige byer uden for mange turister.

We are sorry that probably we forgot to show you the main door that allow you to not pass to the room downstair to go out or go to the garden; our home has two independent access: one from the garden and the other one from the patio. hope to see you again in our home, ciao Filippo and Caterina

Excellent villa.

Excellent rural and quiet location with stunning long distant views and beautiful sunsets. The villa was perfect for a family of four (two adults and two teens) and had everything that we needed - terrace, pool and garden - and more. We found it a great location for visiting lovely Tuscan towns of San Gimignano, Volterra, Colle di val d`elsa, Monteriggioni, Pisa, Siena and, of course Florence (we took the train from Poggibonsi) - all of which we would recommend. Marco, Caterina and Filippo were great hosts and Filippo`s good English language skills made the whole booking and arriving process very easy for us, If you want a villa in Chianti between Siena and Florence we would highly recommend Casa Caterina.

Beautiful house in a prime Tuscan location.

My wife and I could not have wished for a better place in Tuscany. Caterina and Filippo were very attentive and made us feel welcome. The view from the house is priceless. The house is one of the best organized with a cook’s kitchen and every other amenity possible. Highly recommended.
