Great house & location - Lake was immaculate - SUP & kayaks were provided - perfect get away!

Loved the privacy & seclusion - lake was perfect for the kids - close to Vermont - about 50 mins from Lake George. Loved our stay & hope to stay again!

Great getaway

Property was clean, well maintained and offered us a great getaway. We loved spending time on the lake fishing, paddling around on kayak/canoe/SUP and swimming. Owner was always prompt to respond and very helpful.

A Great House on a Great Lake

We cannot say enough good things about this house and about this lake! The house was perfect for our family of six - days full of swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing, reading on the dock, eating s’mores around a campfire, playing games, and just relaxing! Brad was super responsive to questions in advance of our stay and even during our time at the house. We would love to have our own place at Hills Pond, but until then, we plan to return and enjoy this house again and again!!

Lovely Lake Views

We could not be happier with our recent stay at the Lake House. The house was clean and comfortable, and the kitchen had everything we needed. My favorite part of our stay was waking on Christmas Eve to snow falling on the frozen lake. Beautiful! The next morning we woke up to brilliant blue skies, and after a short drive to Okemo, enjoyed some Christmas skiing. Would definitely return - we would love to try some boating in the warmer weather next time!

Perfect Family Getaway!

My family of 4 including two children (4, 7) loved every minute at this pristine, thoughtfully appointed lake house! We were greeted by gifts of a S'mores kit and a lovely bottle of wine. During our stay, we enjoyed trying out every boat available (kayak, canoe, row boat) as well as the floats and paddleboards. The kids were delighted with the large selection of toys and board games. The comfy couch with a beautiful view of the lake was perfect for relaxing between swimming and boating. The kitchen had everything we needed and was exceptionally clean. We didn't leave once during our 3 night stay and had an amazing time! Brad was very responsive and kind during all communication. Thank you for a wonderful vacation spot!

Lovely getaway

This was just what we were looking for. It was a secluded, private, and relaxing retreat with direct access to the lake. We had so much fun on kayaks and canoes and then enjoyed hours of relaxing. We all finished 1 or 2 books during our 5 days there and didn’t watch TV at all. The living room furniture is really comfortable, the kitchen is nicely supplied, and the layout was great for us—parents downstairs and kids upstairs. I wish Whitehall had more to offer in terms of gift shops or Bigfoot merch, but I was pleasantly surprised by the nice groceries available in the little Shaw’s in Poultney, and we found great hiking near Lake George. The owners have the rental set up very nicely with everything you need and some nice extras too. Thank you for a great stay!

Family relaxation and reconnection

This house and property could not have been more perfect for our family of 5 plus Grandma. The new deck/dock are absolutely beautiful with a calm, serene lake to enjoy. Our kids (and the grown-ups) loved the swimming dock and swim mat - made for hours of fun! We watched all the fish and turtles under water. We also tried out most of the boats and took trips around the perimeter of Hills Pond. The house is very clean and welcoming with lots of couch space. The kitchen had everything we needed. The owner left us a bottle of wine and pancake mix - what a nice surprise! In the evening, we roasted marshmallows and made s'mores at the firepit. Beautiful views and quality family time in a quiet lake community.

The lake and the house are very clean. Accommodations including kitchen ware and towels were excellent. The water toys including kayaks and paddle board were so much fun.

Wonderful hideaway

We really enjoyed the beautiful quiet, clean pond. The boats and floats supplied were excellent. My kids fished every day from the dock and boats catching bass, rainbow trout and sunfish. The house was exactly as described and the owner Brad was very attentive and eager to help us with even the most simple issues. The location is secluded and the nearest sizable town is a good ride away but a grocery store is within 15-20 minutes which was perfect. I can’t say enough about the owner and location. It was a wonderful time away from work and all of the responsibilities of the house. Go fishing, swim, read on the dock. It was exactly what we all needed. Thank you Brad for sharing your house. By the way the neighbors are also very nice and friendly.

“Cation”

Our two year old granddaughter named this retreat out “cation.” We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the lake house. The house was clean and comfortable. Everything we needed was there from pots and pans to a bandaid. The bullfrog lullaby at night was such a bonus. We looked forward to hearing it. The lake was lovely and having the kayaks and a canoe available was excellent. We had issues with the internet each day and had to reboot it several times a day to stay connected. But it did work, despite the challenge. Overall, we would book there again in a heartbeat. We had a wonderful stay.

Awesome pandemic getaway

The house and the property are absolutely perfect. The lake is quiet and clear and with the availability of canoes, kayaks and paddle boards it’s fun for all. Brad is super attentive and he handled any problems that came up quickly. Our family truly enjoyed our time at the lake house, and would recommend it to all families trying to get away from life during this pandemic Thanks Brad!!!

The bridal party stay at the pond house.

The house is beautiful inside. Very well decorated and clean. The view of the pond on the deck was very serene. We had coffee there while enjoying the morning sun. We’d like to come back for a longer visit. This was a short trip and the house was perfect for my daughter and the bridesmaids to stay until the wedding. The owners left welcome gifts and thought of all the little details.

Fun summer getaway

Enjoyed our time at Hills Pond! Have two boys and the swim mat, kayaks, paddle board and canoes (and even the small rowboat) kept them entertained all week. Water is beautiful, would recommend bringing goggles or snorkeling gear if you want to see deeper. Water is very clear. Able to swim easily and do some distance swimming in the pond. Dock was great. Location pristine and truly beautiful. Kitchen well kept. We did use the grill as well which worked well and did a fire pit at night twice. Communication with Brad was easy and always responsive. Helped us with a name of a place we could rent a bike for one of our kids.

Wonderful place to get away

Perfect family weekend

We spent a sweet family weekend at the lake house. The house was cozy, very comfortable, very clean and well stocked. We especially enjoyed the common area with spectacular lake views, and the lakeside lawn, deck and fire pit. The lake itself was small and quiet enough for our kids (10&9) to explore by themselves using the surprisingly large selection of boats and kayaks available in the property, but interesting enough so they will not get bored. A small-sized kayak was a nice surprise and perfect for our 5yrs to use independently in the lake. Highly recommended!

A good place for 3 generations to play, and relax together.

The house, lake and facilities met our needs. We enjoyed the water, the use of a well equipped kitchen, the sun room, enough space outside for energetic boys and quiet adults and comfortable beds. We could listen to music, watch movies, with no TV to intrude. My IPAD did not connect well but I found I could do without it. It is a beautiful and peaceful place to be with family

A tranquil place

We loved the quiet, peaceful atmosphere on Hills Pond. The water is clean and clear with an easy entry. At night we could see the Milky Way. The view from the living room overlooking the pond is wonderful. The kitchen is well stocked if you are into cooking. A welcome gift was waiting for us. Brad is a responsive host, very concerned for our comfort and dealt promptly with an issue that came up. The town of Poultney VT is only 10 minutes away and has a supermarket and some nice restaurants. We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation there.

good, clean, fun

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was very attractive and clean. There were many water toys and the lake was lots of fun. We also enjoyed the fire pit while roasting marshmallows. Stores/restaurants were pretty far away.

This lake house is amazing!

We had so much fun paddle boarding, kayaking, and canoeing on Hill Pond! It was amazing all the water sports equipment that was provided for us. And having a sunroom and deck from which to enjoy the view of the pond made the house truly special. The house has charming furnishings and comfortable bedding. The kitchen was fun to cook in and was stocked with all the utensils we needed. The toddler who was vacationing with us had lots of space to run and was thrilled with the toys that were in the house. There are games for all ages there too! It’s an easy drive to Lake George and Fort Ticonderoga, but just relaxing at the pond was the highlight of our week. Brad is easy to communicate with and a perfect host!

Peaceful / Comfortable / Clean

Our stay at the house was excellent. It is the perfect place to spend a relaxing few nights. The place had everything we needed and was comfortable and clean. The lake is beautiful and tranquil and there was plenty to do in the water thanks to the number of canoes, kayaks, etc. We didn’t have the best weather the whole time but the amenities inside made that fine

Incredible home perfect for swimming, relaxing, fishing and close to everything!

I stayed at this wonderful home for a week in July along with my 2 young children and my wife. The home and surrounding area are wooded and pristine. The view from the house and rear yard are breathtaking. The owner Brad keeps the home immaculate and even left us a bottle of wine along with a welcome basket. There's no cable tv, which was fine with us, there is wifi and a dvd player, we rented movies from Redbox at the Shaw's in nearby Poultney, about 10 minutes away. Shaws was great for food and there's a liquor store right next door. The gas grill was filled and worked great. We spent most of days in the lake swimming which was crystal clear. The owner supplies about a half dozen different kayaks and boats. I brought a small electric motor and hooked it up to the row boat, caught a ton of small and large mouth bass on rubber worms. The location of the home is terrific! My family and visited Lake George Village and hit the Six Flags as well, both are about 40 minutes away. Bottom line, we rent lakefront homes every year, this is the best! Brad the owner is awesome and extremely helpful, make this your next stay I know I'll be back!

Quite & Clean Lake House

Stayed with a group of 6 over New Years. The house was very clean and the hosts thorough and accommodating. We skied Okemo and Killington during our stay which are both about 1 hour away and shopped in Lake George and Glen Falls NY. The owners provided an overview of amenities in the area and were a text away for any needs. I would highly recommend this property as a quiet retreat vacation.
