Acerca de este alojamiento
Mount Pleasant Farm, Dunwich
Mount Pleasant Farm is a spacious, modernised 18th Century farmhouse that comfortably sleeps 8 guests. Surrounded by several footpaths and bridleways, it is situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Sitting in a wonderful rural spot, makes it ideal for walks around the National Trust, Dunwich Heath and RSPB Minsmere, as well as exploring the Suffolk coast and countryside.
Mount Pleasant was a working farm until 25 years ago when National Trust and RSPB bought the land, and the farmhouse was sold to the current owners. It was modernised 25 years ago and refurbished again this year.
It is 400 yards down an unmade track with just 2 other holiday properties nearby. On arrival, you enter a spacious porch from which the house flows smoothly from room to room.
The snug is a light and airy room with glazed doors leading out to the large, private enclosed garden. There is a two-seater sofa and two armchairs, a TV, DVD player and an open fireplace where you can snuggle up in front of in the cooler evenings with a book or watch your favourite film on the DVD player.
This leads into the lounge, where there is another open fire, a SMART TV, a two-seater sofa, two armchairs, dual aspect windows and glazed doors out to the garden make this a bright and airy room.
The dining room is set up with a dining table and 8 chairs, and a large wooden sideboard. Windows look out to the garden.
This leads nicely into the well-equipped kitchen where there is a breakfast bar, free-standing fridge, dishwasher, 4-ring hob and oven, kettle, and toaster. There is a larder in the kitchen where there is a washing machine, microwave, and freezer. Dual aspect windows bring in lots of natural light.
Upstairs there are four bedrooms, one with an ensuite and a family bathroom.
Bedroom 1 has twin beds (which can be made into double if required), one side table, a dressing table, hanging space, (bed rail if required), and has a blackout blind.
Bedroom 2 has a king size four poster bed, one bedside table, a dressing table and wardrobes. Windows look out to the view to the front of the house.
Bedroom 3 has twin beds (which can be made up as a king size if required), chest of drawers, wardrobe, one bedside table and a cot. Windows look out to the garden.
Bedroom 4 has a king size bed, two bedside tables, chest of drawers, built-in cupboard with hanging space. Dual aspect windows flood the room with natural light making it bright and airy.
Ensuite with a bath with a shower above, WC and hand basin. Windows look out to the garden and let in natural light.
Family bathroom with a bath and a walk-in shower, WC, and hand basin.
Outside is a large fully enclosed south facing garden mainly laid to lawn with trees. This is the perfect space for alfresco dining with family and friends, or simply sipping a chilled GandT and soaking up the sun, watching the kids playing in this safe environment. There is also a composting area, and a shed with cushions for the garden furniture, and bits for the beach.
Outside toilet and hand basin
It is exceptionally peaceful, and the sea can often be heard. This is a “Dark Sky” area, so the night skies are amazing with very little pollution so sit back and look out for those shooting stars and make a wish.
You can step outside onto a network of footpaths and bridleways, or easily explore the area on your bike. There is a secluded "Woof" walk where you can happily let your dog off lead to enjoy the countryside. The area is steeped in history and there is plenty of information in the Dunwich Museum.
Other Info to note:
Track may be rough after heavy rain.
The garden is large but can be overrun with wildlife despite the secure fences
Deer are prevalent in the area so please check your pet for ticks – leaflet and tick removal on notice board in the larder
There is high chair in the cellar if required
