Acerca de este alojamiento
Limaro - Cuatro Habitaciones Villa, Capacidad 8
What more could you desire? Beautifully finished contemporary interiors flowing out onto dream-filled terraces; hypnotic views over sparkling waters and mythical islands; space in abundance in which unwind, relax and share convivial moments; a paradisiacal beach just a stroll away; double everything. Limaro is perfect for two families travelling together, the whole clan, or extended groups of friends.
Accommodation at Limaro is laid out over a main house and an independent guesthouse. A staircase connects the two homes.
The main house
Inside: at the centre of the main house is a generously proportioned open-concept social space. Walls of sliding glass doors on both sides open up to allow cooling breezes to pass through, while those at the front also provide seamless access to the terraces and showcase the magnificent views across the sea to the legendary islands of Ithaca and Kefalonia.
The style of the main house’s communal space, which is replicated throughout the property, is at once contemporary and welcoming. A muted colour scheme, plenty of soft furnishings, and integrated lighting create a calming atmosphere, while a subtle blend of driftwood-crafted pieces and beautifully designed rope and seagrass lampshades set the tone for carefree summer living. To one end is a comfortably furnished living area with a sink-in L-shaped sofa, a TV and a decorative fireplace, while to the other is the well-equipped contemporary kitchen, which incorporates bespoke, blond wood cabinetry, a central island-bar, and a dining table.
A short corridor to one side of the living area leads to the main bedroom, an extremely bright and spacious double. Openings on either side of a semi-partition wall allow the space to flow through into a luxuriously finished en-suite bathroom with double walk-in shower, self-standing tub and separate WC. Both the bedroom and the bathroom have wonderful sea views and sliding glass doors opening out onto the main terrace.
An opening to one side of the kitchen, meanwhile, leads to a corridor, off which is the main house's second bedroom, a double with en-suite shower room and large sliding glass windows accessing a recessed, covered terrace looking out to sea.
The aforementioned corridor continues past the second bedroom to a flight of stairs, which lead up to the second house.
Outside: all the rooms in the main house flow outside via banks of sliding glass doors onto a split-level terrace that runs along the entire façade of the property. 180-degree views of the sea and the neighbouring islands provide an enchanting backdrop to al fresco life.
The upper level of this terrace, which is partially shaded by the overhanging roof, includes a long wooden dining table outside the kitchen, and a secluded recessed sitting area outside the second bedroom. Furnished with quality sofas and armchairs, this is a super spot for those who wish to take a break from the sun.
A couple of steps lead down from the upper level to the lower, where a wide expanse of smooth grey tiles fan out around the unique swimming pool, whose serene cobalt waters, infinity edge and partially submerged loungers resting on a shallow shelf, are impossible to resist.
At one end of the pool are a couple of sun loungers, a well-cushioned built-in sitting area and a shower: to the other is an area of decking with more sun loungers, and a shaded, extremely well-equipped al fresco kitchen with barbecue and bar.
The guesthouse
Inside: a door at the top of the stairs connecting the two houses opens into the guesthouse's communal space, which comprises a living area, a kitchen and a dining table. Although a little smaller than the main house, the style, décor, materials and overall quality are the same. A comfy sofa and a couple of chairs face a semi-partition wall with TV, and wide sliding glass doors invite guests to move freely between the interiors and the terraces.
An opening on one side of the partition wall allows the space to flow through to a corridor, off which are the two bedrooms:
• a double with en-suite shower room, sea views and sliding glass doors leading out onto the terrace
• a double with shower room on the opposite side of the corridor, and sliding glass doors leading out onto the terrace
Outside: as with the main house, all the rooms of the guesthouse connect directly with the outdoor areas via floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors.
The terrace that awaits those seeking al fresco life includes a dining area, a mix of quality sun loungers and bean bags, a sitting area, and, floating in pride of place, an infinity pool looking out over the timeless views of the Ionian Sea and the islands of Kefalonia and Ithaca.
Due to the nature of the property including terraces low walls and several drops around the grounds, children must be supervised at all times.
Please note that there is no real shallow end in the pool, whose minimum depth is over 1.4m.
Road noise is audible from the property's grounds. The volume may rise or fall depending on climactic conditions such as wind direction.
Perched on the southern coast of Lefkada above the paradisiacal beach of Agiofili, Limaro gazes out across the sea to the islands of Kefalonia and Ithaca. Just 2.5km away round the bay is Vassiliki, a water sports hotspot with a beach, shops and plenty of tavernas.
Other beaches nearby include those at Ammoussa and Afteli, both of which are within a 25-minute drive. The famed beaches of the southwest coast - Egremni and Porto Katsiki - are around 40 minutes away.
The capital of Lefkada, Lefkada Town, with its vibrant summer buzz, its restaurants, bars and shops and its marina, is about an hour away.
Limaro is also well-placed for hiking in Lefkada's interior, where the mountains rise to over 1,100m. There is some truly beautiful scenery and a scattering of unspoilt villages where the way of life remains profoundly connected to the island's ancient traditions and customs.
Lefkada measures 35km from its northern tip to the dramatic white cliffs of Cape Lefkatas in the south and just 15km from east to west. It is, therefore, relatively easy to explore in a week. At its northern point the island is connected to mainland Greece by a floating bridge, while frequent 1-hour ferry crossings connect Vassiliki to Fiskardo on Kefalonia, making it eminently possible to travel further afield.
Arrival details will be confirmed by The Thinking Traveller after your villa is confirmed.
The Thinking Traveller can organise transfers and car hire and an agent will be in touch with you once your villa is confirmed.
