The Neighborhood:

The flat sits on Lexham Gardens, one of Kensington's quintessential tree-lined garden squares — a row of elegant white-stucco Victorian townhouses on a quiet, leafy street just off Cromwell Road. This is classic prime central London: refined, walkable, impeccably maintained, and surrounded by some of the city's most iconic addresses, yet genuinely peaceful in the evenings.



Gloucester Road tube station is around five minutes on foot (Piccadilly, Circle and District lines), with Earl's Court and High Street Kensington stations only marginally further. From here you're a direct, single-journey ride to Heathrow, Knightsbridge, Covent Garden, the West End, the City, and Canary Wharf — making this an exceptional base whether you're visiting for leisure or business.



Kensington High Street, just around the corner, offers everything from Whole Foods and M&S to independent boutiques, cafés, and restaurants. For something more refined, Knightsbridge and Harrods are a fifteen-minute walk or two stops on the tube, and South Kensington's museum quarter — the V&A, Natural History Museum, and Science Museum — is similarly close. The Royal Albert Hall, Hyde Park, and Kensington Gardens (with Kensington Palace, the Serpentine, and miles of green pathways) are all within an easy stroll, and Notting Hill, Chelsea, and Holland Park are just beyond.



Excellent dining is on the doorstep, from Michelin-starred Kitchen W8 and Launceston Place to long-standing local favourites like Maggie Jones's, The Builders Arms, and Yashin Sushi, plus a strong line-up of cafés, wine bars, and gastropubs scattered through the surrounding streets.



It's a rare combination — central enough to walk almost anywhere, yet quiet enough to feel like a proper Kensington home.



Getting Around:

The flat is exceptionally well-connected. Three Underground stations are within easy walking distance: Gloucester Road (5–7 minutes) on the Piccadilly, Circle, and District lines; Earl's Court (around 7 minutes) on the District and Piccadilly lines; and High Street Kensington (8–10 minutes) on the Circle and District lines. Between them, you can reach virtually anywhere in central London without changing trains.



Indicative tube journey times from Gloucester Road: South Kensington 2 minutes, Knightsbridge 4 minutes, Hyde Park Corner 6 minutes, Green Park 8 minutes, Piccadilly Circus 10 minutes, Covent Garden 12 minutes, King's Cross / St Pancras 17 minutes, Bank 20 minutes, and Heathrow Airport around 45 minutes on a single direct Piccadilly line train — no changes, no Heathrow Express transfer required.



Buses run constantly along Cromwell Road and Kensington High Street, with frequent services to Victoria, Sloane Square, Notting Hill, Hammersmith, the West End, and beyond. Black cabs are easy to hail on the main roads, and Uber, Bolt, and other ride-hailing apps work seamlessly throughout the area, usually with a car within a few minutes.



For longer journeys, Paddington Station (Heathrow Express, Elizabeth line, and trains to the West) is around 10 minutes by taxi or two stops on the Circle line. Victoria Station, for the Gatwick Express and Southern services to Brighton and the south coast, is a short tube ride away. King's Cross / St Pancras (for Eurostar to Paris, Brussels, and Amsterdam, and high-speed services north) is a direct Piccadilly line journey.



Much of central London is genuinely walkable from here. Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, the museum quarter, the Royal Albert Hall, and Kensington High Street are all reachable on foot in 10–15 minutes. Santander Cycle docking stations are dotted throughout the neighbourhood, and the cycle paths through Hyde Park and along the embankments make this a pleasant area to explore on two wheels.



A car is not needed — and parking in Kensington is restricted and expensive — but if you do drive, the property is straightforward to reach via Cromwell Road (the A4) directly from Heathrow and the M4.
