Keen walkers can hop on the 30-mile Mortimer Trail (2 miles) from Ludlow to Kington, or venture 10 miles north to the Shropshire Hills Natural Landscape for a 6.5-mile round hike up to Flounders’ Folly.

You’ll be greeted by light-filled contemporary interiors and a welcoming layout, all spread across an impressively large footprint. Further on is the lounge area with a sofa and Smart TV for quiet evenings in.
When it’s time for a dose of fresh air, head out through the lounge patio doors to the rooftop terrace for sweeping views across the Shropshire countryside and the beautifully kept castle gardens below (access to the grounds is available during opening hours). This space is perfect for morning coffees at the bistro table. The property also has parking for one car.
