Commanding superb views over the village and mountain range at the heart of this idyllic location, this homely farmhouse in Abergynolwyn offers families and groups of friends the perfect base from which to explore Snowdonia National Park. The charming village of Abergynolwyn, nestled in a valley where the Nant Gwernol and the Afon Dysynni rivers meet, is a playground for keen outdoor explorers, with countless tracks and trails weaving through the breathtaking Snowdonia National Park beginning from the doorstep. Half a mile from the doorstep, you’ll find the Talyllyn Narrow Gorge Railway station; hop aboard a traditional steam train to the Dolgoch waterfalls, a series of three breathtaking waterfalls set amongst truly serene surroundings. Lace up your hiking boots to climb to the summit of Cader Idris (5 miles) or enjoy more scenic walks along the coast at the beaches at Fairbourne (15 miles) or Aberdovey (11.5 miles).
Beneath the handsome farmhouse exterior, you’ll find a haven of charming original features, including exposed beams and stone walls throughout this homely retreat, as well as underfloor heating, perfect for soothing weary walking toes. Flooded with natural sunlight, the kitchen will capture your imagination, inspiring you to whip up something tasty with new local flavours. Follow the warmth of the roaring wood burner into the cosy lounge/diner that’s brimming with rustic touches, including a stunning inglenook fireplace that’ll transport you to days gone by. The dining table is perfectly positioned for you to enjoy lovely views as you tuck into your delicious local produce. Upstairs, you’re greeted by a library landing, a quiet space to lose yourself in a good book or plan tomorrow’s adventure before washing off a long day on the local trails in the stylish shower room. You’ll also find three bedrooms on this level: one king-size, two doubles, all boasting a wonderfully peaceful atmosphere and enchanting views to wake up to.
Outside, soak up your peaceful surroundings amongst magnificent mountain views from the comfort of the open gravelled garden, which features a charcoal BBQ, perfect for a spot of al fresco dining on a fine evening.
