Or head to Manorbier (7 miles), a classic coastal village with a quaint Norman castle and a wide sandy beach framed by dramatic cliffs. At Stackpole Quay (2.5 miles), follow the coastal path through sand dunes and pine woodland to reach the gorgeous Barafundle Bay (2.5 miles). Families will also love nearby Heatherton World of Activities and Manor Wildlife Park, where kids can get hands-on with farmyard animals (both 8 miles away).

Step up to the front door and into a handy porch with space to leave coats and sandy shoes after you’ve been on the beach. You’ll have a ground-floor shower room so you can easily pop in to rinse off salt and sand. Across the hall, the kitchen is well-equipped with everything you need for meal prep, including a Tassimo coffee machine for your morning brew.
