Originally part of the iconic Golden Hill Fort — built between 1860 and 1868 as part of England’s coastal defences — this remarkable five-bedroom residence preserves its historic character while delivering every contemporary comfort.
Step into history and stay in extraordinary style at this one-of-a-kind holiday home set within a beautifully restored Victorian fortress, boasting breathtaking views across the Solent and the English Channel. Blending grand heritage architecture with modern luxury, this Grade I listed retreat offers an unforgettable coastal escape for families and groups.
Enter with just one step into a striking ground floor featuring barrel-vaulted brick ceilings, solid oak floors, and atmospheric LED mood lighting. The vast dual-aspect living and dining area is designed for relaxing and entertaining, with plush leather and wool sofas, sumptuous rugs, a 65” surround-sound Smart TV, and a large dining table seating up to 12 guests. Books, games and DVDs are provided for cosy evenings in.
The bespoke kitchen/breakfast room is a showpiece in itself, complete with marble worktops, sleek high-gloss units, and premium integrated appliances including two electric ovens, ceramic hob, microwave, coffee machine, fridge, freezer, and dishwasher — ideal for everything from lazy breakfasts to celebratory dinners. A second lounge with Smart TV and streaming services provides extra space to unwind. There is also a utility room with washer dryer and tumble dryer, plus a separate toilet.
Upstairs, five beautifully appointed bedrooms offer comfort and flexibility for your group:
A stunning principal suite with four-poster super kingsize bed, dressing area, Smart TV, and luxurious ensuite wet room with bath and shower
A super kingsize zip-and-link room (can be arranged as twins please request when booking) with ensuite wet room
