Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location cannot be beat. Access to water is amazing. The actual house is run down and lack luster. The furniture is very worn - when I sat on the main couch upstairs, I fell INTO it - it's like the support is gone or broken for the cushions. The lamps are mostly broken - tilting, can't pull the cord or the whole thing falls off the table. One of the fans was broken, so we had to lean it up against the wall and couldn't put it in the window, which didn't help with cooling the bedroom off. I cleaned the dishwasher filter - it seemed like it hasn't been done ever, or not in a very long time. There are mice behind the hearth at the fireplace upstairs - we saw three of them. Responsiveness by management was great. For the amount we spent to stay here, trash pick-up should be included. You will need to haul out your own garbage at the end of your vacation. Please note there is no air conditioning and there is also no washer and dryer in this "cabin." Our relatives own the property next door, and the proximity to them was perfect for a family trip. We'd love to do it again next year, but honestly don't think we'd want to stay here again. Overall the place is clearly a rental workhorse, with little attention or care to detail.

Great Location, Stunning Lake View, but Cabin Needs Serious Updates

We stayed at this lakefront cabin in Big Bear Lake for a June 2025 weekend getaway. While the location and lake view were highlights, the property fell short and we wouldn’t return unless it’s significantly improved.The Good: The location is great—close to Big Bear Village’s shops and restaurants—with a beautiful lake view. Waking up to the water and mountains was a treat, and the area was perfect for summer activities like the Alpine Coaster and Boulder Bay Park.The Not-So-Good: The cabin felt small, dark, and very dated—far from the modern look in the photos. The spa was unusable, filled with grimy water and a cover caked in bird droppings. The dock was cluttered, carpeted with torn, dirty material, and lacked the inviting setup neighboring docks had. The dock also had a boat so we were glad we decided to not rent one because there was no safe place to dock it! The lower deck was rundown, covered in dirt and spider webs, and had unsafe loose steps. Inside, a steep stairway at the entrance was tough for older family members. The furniture was worn, with sagging couches and an unpleasant urine smell in the main bedroom. Upstairs was stifling, and the downstairs—while cooler—wasn’t cozy. The “game room” only had a crooked foosball table.Final Thoughts: We loved the lake and the area, but the cabin itself needs serious attention. The photos are misleading, and we recommend confirming recent renovations before booking. We wouldn’t stay again unless major upgrades are made.

Perfect Location

Absolutely loved the location and the views. There were a couple issues with breakers when we arrived that were resolved quickly. Unfortunately we had a similar problem the next day and I think my call at the answering service wasn’t forwarded as I had to call back after not getting a response for a few hours. Once I talked to someone the issue was resolved quickly and easily. The house itself was nice, but did seem a bit neglected in some ways - mainly due to the holes and stains on some of the throw pillows on the couches. I would also recommend having the suitcase holders available so guests can unpack. I had to unbury the one in the king bedroom as it was buried under pillows and I had no where else to put my suitcase or anywhere to unpack. The outside of the property also could use a power wash and maintenance. I understand cobwebs, but we felt like we had to clean all the outdoor furniture before we enjoyed it. Overall it was a lovely stay, the management was responsive despite a small hiccup, and we would certainly recommend them. The small details o mentioned were minor and hopefully this is good feedback for the owners to improve upon for future guests. Thanks for having us, we will likely use your properties again in the future!

Very dissatisfied

We really liked the location of the cabin, but the mattresses and bedding was really old and didn’t smell or looked fresh. We couldn’t sleep at nights because the mattresses were very uncomfortable. The carpets were old, the master bedroom was freezing cold. Overall cleanliness wasn’t fresh.

The cabin is steps away from the lake and the views are beautiful. Pros: Very comfy beds, TVs upstairs and downstairs are great for kids who want to watch different things, nice kitchen, comfortable living room, relaxing jacuzzi. Cons: The decks are great but could use a good cleaning. Lots of spiderwebs in the corners and under the house. Really obvious when you are sitting in the jacuzzi. The decks are great but could use some more comfortable seating. It's hard to relax in the upright dining chairs they have. It was nice to have our own boat dock but there are no stairs into the water, so we had to use the neighbors stairs to get out of the water. The dock also looks like its about to fall apart so beware if you have small children. The rentals around us had nice chairs on their docks and umbrellas but this one had nothing. The dock was our biggest disappointment. Also, Big Bear has a lot of rules around rentals so you can't just check yourself into the house, you have to stop by the office to show your ID which is pretty annoying, especially since we had to wait a long time for someone to glance at my ID.
