Esta casa de cuatro dormitorios frente al mar es perfecta para una escapada relajante con la playa a solo unos pasos. Ubicado en una reserva biológica con un sendero que conduce a un impresionante mirador para ver los hermosos amaneceres y puestas de sol de Samara, ¡a solo 7 minutos a pie de la playa!

El espacio
Casa Pakatoa es una casa grande (4 habitaciones y una gran cocina / sala de estar). La casa es una casa de campo de un piso, con un mobiliario sencillo y un entorno rústico. Tiene capacidad para hasta 8 personas. La casa está ubicada en el lado tranquilo y familiar de la playa.

Su anfitrión estará en el sitio para ayudarlo a organizar recorridos y actividades. La casa está a 7 minutos a pie del centro de Samara. Puedes ver reseñas en línea de 40 restaurantes ubicados en la ciudad.

L’endroit était parfait avec les enfants, à quelques pas de la plage pour faire plusieurs activités! Nous avons adorés Sámara, la plage, le logement, les commodités!! Le logement était propre et les commodités de la cuisinette nous ont permis de cuisiner agréablement.Nous entendons la mer du logement, c’était merveilleux!!Merci!

Paradise

This was our second stay. The new renovations are amazing! Very secure and quiet. Close to everything, but off the beaten path enough to be private. The property host Maggie is an absolute gem. Highly recommend!!

Great property

Before the trip, Alvaro was very quick to respond to any questions about the house. Upon arrival, Maggie greeted us and was also very prompt with any questions or assistance that we needed. The house is clean and white, feels fresh. Lots of people can stay here and not be in each other’s way. It’s located in a great proximity for surfing and boogie boarding. Also away from the noise and chaos of the more tourist area. Everything is just a short walk down the beach though. It is Costa Rica, there are bugs and crabs that do get in the house at times, you definitely should be prepared for some of the outside, inside. We would absolutely stay here again!

Beautiful samara beach house

Loved this little house on the beach! Loved samara. Surfing and snorkeling. House is older but has been renovated nicely. Would be great for 2 small families. Location is wonderful! Just far enough from town—about a 5-10 min walk down beach. Beach in front is a little more coral filled than a few feet down the beach but still very swimable and sandy. A/c worked well. Showers were nice. House has lots of locks and felt safe. We saw a large howler monkey family out back and plenty of iguanas. Owner was easy to contact and property manager very friendly and on site.

Perfect place to relax!

This was our second time staying in this house. The new updates are fantastic! Being right on the beach, walking distance to town, and seeing monkeys in the trees is just about perfect. I highly recommend this house if you want to forget what day it is and just, Pura Vida!

Best ocean views

We had a lovey stay in the beach front house. The ocean view is amazing and it's just a short walk down the beach to shops and restaurants. Hope to be back soon.

Casa Pakatoa is AMAZING!

Everything about Casa Pakatoa was wonderful! The location was unbeatable, Alvaro was very responsive and as friendly and welcoming through his messages as they come, and we all loved Maggie so much we all look forward to our Costa Rica trip next year to stay at Casa Pakatoa with such a wonderful neighbor and host!! We 100% will return to stay at Casa Pakatoa our next trip and all our friends and family want to stay there too after seeing our pictures we have shared during our stay!

Wonderful!

Samara is amazing; this was our second time visiting and we love the beach and small town feel it offers. The place was great, steps away from the beach. It has an open air feel to it so as long as you don’t mind a little bit of the outside inside with you, the place is fantastic. Maggie, who lives in the adjacent property, was amazing and so helpful throughout our stay. There’s a giant mango tree in the yard and we enjoyed tree ripe mangos, and the monkeys that visited a couple mornings. Great place!

Great place!!

We had an amazing time staying at Alvaro’s property. It’s located right on the beach and can accommodate lots of friends. The property manager Julie was awesome & very helpful. I highly recommend staying here!

Authentic small beach town, beautiful area. Right on the beach!

I almost don’t want to expose Samara for the fantastic place it is…it’s low key easy going attitude is partly due to the low population and lower tourist numbers. We loved it! The house is not fancy at all, but we enjoyed the simple, beach living. We can’t wait to return! Great management team.

Location Location Location

The bohemian town of Samara has that perfect laid back, barefoot, relaxing beach town. No one wears shoes, and everyone lives in a bathing suit. Everyone we met were so friendly and helpful. The house is steps from the beach, enjoy those waves while you sleep. The compound is made up of a main house (bedrooms and bathrooms) and a separate building for the kitchen (which had all the usual amenities). In between is a large open air patio with a large table, furniture and hammocks. This is where we spent most of our time, enjoying a great breeze that blows through. The town is a 7-10 minute walk along the beach where you will find all you need: restaurants, coffee shops, liquor store, pharmacy. We rented a golf cart, which came in very handy for fetching supplies. You do have to take the cart up the hill to the main road, go a few blocks, and then go back down the hill into the center of town. We used it every day. There are no taxis, Uber or Lyft here 😊 PURA VIDA!

Beach Relaxation

My family of 7 had a great time at this house. We loved the Tico experience. The outdoor kitchen was fun . Erin met us for easy check in and explained the history of the house. It is an easy 10 min walk down the beach to town. Erin also arranged horseback riding for us. We had monkeys and lizards in the backyard for entertainment. We hope to visit again!

We just returned from 9 nights at Casa Pakato. It is exactly as described. (see airbnb for more reviews). Alvaro is extremely efficient at responding to questions. Rustic environment simplified everything, and lead to a most relaxing holiday. The accomodations were perfect for our group of 8, especially the fact that the kitchen is in a separate building, when I got up to make coffee I did not disturb anyone, same for those who stayed up late. The constant breeze negates the need for A/C in the kitchen. The set up at Casa Pakatoa ensures that you optimize outdoor living. House is directly in front of the beach. If you enjoy ocean swims this is the location for you, size of waves varies with the tides. We brought our own masks and were able to walk to the end of the beach at low tide and swim to Isla Cora for some snorkelling. (or you can do the tour for $25, or rent kayaks for $10hr/pp). Wing nuts zip line is a 5 min walk. You truly do not need a car, walk along the beach for bars and restaurants. Centre of Samara (groceries etc) is about 20 min walk also along the beach. However, we had the most fun with the golf cart we rented for the week. (got the idea from previous guest who rented it for a day, to go to Corilla Beach). A huge highlight was hiring a local to cook 3 dinners for us, best way to taste the local cuisine. We used Samara Adventure to arrange transport to/from airport, (2 hr drive), Stayed at Hotel Boyeros night before our flight, cab to airport $20. Would definitely return. Sometimes less is more.

Perfect location!

This house is located in a quiet area at the edge of Samara. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the owner and contact folks were extremely responsive with any request we had. We would definitely stay here again!

Great Beach location

This house is less than a 2 minute walk to the beach and about a 15 walk to town along the beach. It has 4 sleeping rooms, only 3 with air conditioning. The main living room is small, sparsely furnished,no place comfortable to sit and no AC. The kitchen is in a separate building, no AC, and older appliances. Very inconvenient to go outside to another building to start the coffee. Erin did not meet us in town as arranged, so our van driver called and was directed to the property via phone. I must say the host was very responsive to all my inquiries in a timely manner.
