2 Beck Houses is a welcoming semi-detached cottage in the quiet North Yorkshire hamlet of Menethorpe, just outside the market town of Malton. With three bedrooms sleeping up to five and a flexible layout, it suits families, couples and small groups — and dogs are very welcome too. Footpaths lead straight out into open countryside, making it an easy base for walkers and anyone after a proper rural reset, with Malton, York and the Yorkshire coast all within reach.



The Space:

The heart of the home is the open living and dining room, with space to gather round the table for a hearty meal or a game night, and a comfortable seating area with a Smart TV for slower evenings in.

The kitchen is well equipped for cooking proper meals together, and a separate utility room next door adds handy extra space — useful after muddy walks, especially with a dog along.

There are three well-presented bedrooms: a super-king double that can be set up as a twin on request, a further twin room, and a single room — giving you flexible sleeping to suit your group. A shower room serves all three.

Outside, a lawned and enclosed front garden is a pleasant spot for a morning coffee or an evening drink, looking out over the hamlet and the countryside beyond — and being securely enclosed, it's ideal for letting children and dogs play safely.



Guest Access:

Guests have the whole of 2 Beck Houses to themselves for their stay, including the enclosed garden. Check-in is self-service via a key box, so you can arrive whenever suits you — full instructions and the code are sent before you travel. There's plenty of off-street parking for two to three cars.



The Neighborhood:

Menethorpe is a small, peaceful hamlet surrounded by classic Howardian-edge countryside, with walks leaving more or less from the doorstep. Just a few miles away, Malton has built a real name as Yorkshire's food town — independent delis, butchers, cafés and a lively monthly food market — and nearby Kirkham Priory makes a lovely riverside stop and a starting point for exploring the surrounding villages.



There's plenty further afield for day trips. Historic York, with York Minster, the National Railway Museum and York Art Gallery, is an easy drive. Malton Museum digs into the town's Roman past, and the Yorkshire coast at Bridlington — golden sands at South Beach and the old-town charm of the Bayle Museum — rounds out a varied week.
