It’s just a mile from the picturesque coastal village of Portpatrick, which is on the South West Coastal 300: a scenic touring route through the region. The village has a small, sandy beach (at low tide) and a pretty harbour, as well as a choice of shops and places to eat and drink. Sit back and watch the boats coming and going, or book a fishing excursion or sightseeing cruise. The incredible landscapes in the area ensure its popularity with artists, bird watchers and nature lovers. Walk the spectacular cliff path in either direction, or head to the Mull of Galloway, Scotland’s most southerly point (22.5 miles), from which there are extraordinary views. The vibrant town of Stranraer is just 5.5 miles away.
Every aspect of this detached, dog-friendly cottage has been designed for comfort and convenience, and it is set all on one level, apart from a few steps down from the lounge to the sunroom. Enter through the small porch and head straight into the kitchen/diner, where you’ll find everything necessary for preparing hearty breakfasts and delicious suppers, including a Smart TV, a microwave and a dishwasher, with a small table by the window for you to enjoy fabulous views as you dine. Continue through to the lounge, a bright and welcoming space where there’s plenty of soft seating and another Smart TV, ready for you to stream your favourite shows. A wood burner ensures additional glowing warmth on chilly evenings. The sunroom is off the lounge, boasting plush seating that ensures the ultimate in comfort as you sit back and admire the incredible views through the floor-to-ceiling windows and the patio doors to the garden and the countryside beyond. The three tranquil bedrooms all have beautiful furnishings and share a chic, spacious shower room.
Large, enclosed gardens with mature trees, shrubs and hedges surround the cottage, perfect for children and pets to play, though they are on a fairly steep slope. There’s also a small patio area (steps down). The property also offers private parking for three cars.
