The cottage has been refurbished to the highest standard, blending the traditional features of 17th century construction with a bright, open & modern layout. You’ll experience the traditional architecture & everything Troutbeck has to offer without sacrificing an ounce of comfort.

Experience the historic & traditional lakeland Inns: The Mortal Man & Queens Head both within easy walking distance of your cottage.

When it comes to outdoor activities, you’re spoiled for choice of scenic country roads, walking trails and cycling routes all boasting some of the best views in the country.

Traditional, cozy living room, kitchen & dining area complete with a wood fireplace to make you feel at home.

Ground-Floor Living Area: The ground floor features an open plan living room, dining room, kitchen & outdoor lounge with sweeping views.

2nd Floor: on the 2nd level you’ll find the 2 spacious bedrooms and bathrooms both featuring double beds in bright, sunlit rooms.

Parking: Church View features dedicated parking to comfortably fit a single car at the front of the property.

WiFi & Entertainment: Church View comes complete with free WiFi, a smart TV with Netflix, Disney+, Apple TV & Standard cable for your viewing pleasure. Complete with a Sonos bluetooth smart speaker system.

You’ve picked a truly great location to stay with such great proximity to the finest Scenery , Restaurants,Watering holes shops & recreational facilities(IMHO).

The Cottage is located in the pretty and picturesque conservation village of Troutbeck. The popular villages of Ambleside and Windermere are a short drive away both of which offer a great choice of quality local shops, bars and restaurants. Travel north from the cottage over the spectacular Kirstone Pass and Brotherwatter, Patterdale and Ullswater are all waiting to be explored.

Closer to home there is a myriad of walks to choose from.

The small village shop and tea room add to the charm of the village If the high fells are your chosen destination Ill Bell, Thornthwaite Crag, Stoney Cove Pike, and the mighty High Street can all be conquered right from the front door.

Spectacular Lakeland fells surround this lush valley; scattered with historic Lakeland houses and pretty woodlands, and blessed with several acclaimed Lake District country pubs. One of which is literally a healthy stone`s throw from your cottage, the Queen`s Head in Troutbeck village is renowned for its excellent food, Cumbrian produce and cosy fireside ambience. Perfect for a special occasion.

Take the car over Kirkstone Pass towards Ullswater, and stop at the Pub ( Kirkstone Pass in , the 3rd Highest pub in England you`ll pass Brothers Water - one of our favourite spots for a leisurely Sunday stroll. Venture to see the spectacular Aira Force Water Falls and the Cascades

Continue onto Glenridding. Park the car and take the lake steamer boat on Ullswater to Howtown and stop for high teas at the Howtown hotel pub / Tea rooms

For exploring further afield, despite the blissfully secluded feel of Troutbeck Valley, you`re never too far from the main linking roads throughout the Lake District.

If you are after a decent walk and the weather is fair :

Tackle the circular walk of Helvellyn over striding edge, starting and ending in Glenridding. ( check the weather, pack wet weather gear and snacks) you will not be disappointed!

Visit Grasmere – Home of Wordsworth and Dove cottage Walk around the village & church

Drive over Redbank to Elterwater into the Langdale Valley and stop at the new Dungeon Gylll Pub, Park up and walk up to Stickle Tarn.

Plenty of Transport options to get you about and about and from place to place during the day

Bus 508 connect in Troutbeck on the Kendal -Windermere-Penrith Route.

The property is a smoke free environment - Absolutely No Smoking on the premises inside or out. Any evidence of such will invoke GBP 1000 cleaning charge.

Parking is strictly limited to car bay directly front on the cottage .

-Any Early Check Request can be reviewed and will be considered, subject to if the property is already booked that night before.

Guests please note that for stays over 7 days we elect to impose a mid stays with weekly housekeeping visits .This will incure an additional cleaning fees.

This is to ensure that guests receive clean linen, towels and that the property is serviced for our guest ongoing comfort.
