This unique A-frame vacation home is completely surrounded by lush greenery and offers a breathtaking view of the Rommersven, the largest fen in the municipality with an impressive area of 26,000 m². Depending on the season, you’ll see the fen in various forms, ranging from a mirror-like water surface with frogs or ducklings to a sea of flowers and everything in between. We have a small boat available for guests who enjoy rowing. In addition to its enchanting location, this A-frame house stands out for its modern architecture by dmvA Architects and its use of designer furniture, lighting, and accessories from renowned brands and designers such as MDF Italia, Established & Sons, B&B Italia, Kartell, Sabine Marcelis, and others. The house has gained worldwide recognition through features in various leading design magazines and websites. Both the original client and the current owners work in the design sector and, after many years of experience, have collected the finest pieces.

Layout.

Inside the house, you’ll find a cozy living room with a generous dining table and a spacious lounge sofa next to the wood-burning stove. The house is fully equipped, including a fully stocked kitchen with a dishwasher, a bathroom with a toilet and shower, and two bedrooms with comfortable beds and ample closet space (one bedroom with a double bed, and one bedroom with two single beds that can be joined to form a spacious double bed). In addition, the house offers excellent (free) Wi-Fi, and you can use your own Netflix account or our Chromecast on the Smart TV. Basic necessities such as toilet paper and trash bags are provided as standard. Outside, you can enjoy a lovely patio with a dining table and chairs, as well as two lounge chairs for relaxing. On warm summer evenings, you can fire up the barbecue, while in the winter months, the indoor stove provides cozy warmth on the spacious lounge sofa. This vacation home offers a unique and comfortable experience year-round, nestled in the midst of beautiful natural surroundings.

Surroundings.

This beautiful A-frame house is located in the Noorderkempen, perfectly situated halfway between the bustling cities of Breda and Antwerp, in the charming municipality of Brecht. In the immediate vicinity, such as the nearby town of Brasschaat, you’ll find a variety of unique boutiques and artisanal shops where you can enjoy the finest bread, flavorful cheeses and cold cuts, and delicious Belgian pastries. For Belgian beer lovers, a visit to the nearby Westmalle Trappist Brewery is an absolute must. At our cottage, you can enjoy Trapp soap and skincare products, made by the Trappist nuns of the Abbey of Our Lady of Nazareth in Brecht. Who knows—you might fall in love with them and stock up on a few items. If you’re traveling with children, you can plan a fun day at the Chocolate Museum in Antwerp or visit Robotland in Essen. For nature lovers, one of Flanders’ most beautiful nature reserves, the Kalmthoutse Heide, is just around the corner. This area offers numerous junctions for cycling and hiking routes, and various guidebooks are available at the house to help you explore the enchanting surroundings and enjoy all the beauty the region has to offer. From the Noorderkempen station, you can also easily take the high-speed train to the Netherlands or Belgium, with a travel time of only about 15 minutes to Breda or Antwerp by train.
