Great property and wonderful hosts.

Our stay at the Balboa was perfect. It has everything you need or want for a wonderful vacation. The owners were helpful and friendly. The neighbors were great and quiet. The kitchen had everything you need to prepare meals... much better than any other vacation rental we have stayed at. The back yard was so relaxing. Can’t wait to return!

First time snowbirds

We chose The Balboa as our destination to escape the peak of the Rocky Mountain winter. We feel we made a very good choice. We really enjoyed the comfort and spacious feel of the apartment, the garden patio, the location and the welcoming spirit displayed by our host. We hope to be able to visit again in the future. Nice apt close to San Juan Capistrano

Overall good stay. Needed a place close our jobsite and this place was perfect. only negative was the parking. the spot dedicated for us was either used by construction workers or someone else. parking wasnt the greatest.

Our sincere apologies for the inconvenience with the times others parked in your designated spot- that is absolutely unacceptable and not the norm! We wish you had let us know it happened after that one time the plumber doing an emergency repair parked there by mistake. We were able to inform him to move as soon as you notified us. We had several pre-Summer maintenance and repair projects taking place, and apparently some of the contractors must have parked where they were not supposed to. We enjoyed having you as our Guest and love to have you return! If we are lucky enough to have you back in the future, please let us know immediately if there’s any issue whatsoever, so we can address it immediately. Again, our apologies and we feel terrible this parking situation happened!

Best vacation rental ever!

What a fabulous stay we had at The Balboa. The apartment is absolutely gorgeous, with elegant furnishings and a lush backyard providing a serene view. We felt comfortable and welcome. Even our 2 dogs seemed to enjoy our stay. The hosts, Debra & Zach, are incredibly accommodating and thoughtful. The location is exquisite. If you're unfamiliar with the Lantern District of Dana Point, it's very walkable, offering a variety of shops, restaurants, bakeries, outdoor strolls, and incredible views from the bluff overlooking Dana Point Harbor. My wife and I live locally in Orange County, and we chose this location to stay while our home was being remodeled. We knew the location would be great, but had no idea The Balboa would be so charming, with so much character. Best vacation rental ever!

This place is a Zen as you can get.

Who is this about two three blocks from the beach cliffs. And then you have the garden backyard. My wife didn't ever want to leave the place to be honest. It's such a beautiful Serene environment they made. Whenever if we found something wrong it was promptly repaired. The owners and serve very quickly and they're just amazing animal lovers. We tried to say longer but it just didn't work out because of course the place is always rented by their regulars. FIK give a better score I would. Thanks, Deb and Zach

Large apartment with lovely backyard and quiet convenient location .

We stayed here for two weeks and couldn’t ask for anything better . The place is spacious with large living room and kitchen that is equipped with everything you could possible need if cooking is important to you. ( probably the most well stocked kitchen we’ve come across). The back yard is like an oasis with sitting area and lots of beautiful plantings for total privacy and serene setting . The owners really thought carefully of everything to make the guest stay enjoyable . It’s also in a perfect Location, just 5 minutes drive to nearby beach or to major highway ..and great little coffee shop two blocks away . Owners were super responsive . We would happily stay here here again in future .

Absolutely Fantastic!!

Our stay in the Balboa unit was amazing. This is a great property and the owners Debra and Zach have put a lot of thought into making this property a truly great experience . The unit has an open floor plan - making it spacious and livable. There is so much attention to detail it is hard to describe. The unit has an upscale "beach vibe" with complimentary artwork, furnishings, and memorabilia. It is like stepping into someone's home. One of our favorites was the kitchen, which is done in a french tile that is stunning. The kitchen is well appointed and fully stocked. Likewise, the tile bathroom with a walk in shower is designer quality. This unit is curated with thought and creativity. The Balboa unit has an outdoor patio that is large and inviting. The gardens are well maintained and offer a nice place to sit and reflect. Also, the unit is in a great location and close to all the attractions in Dana Point. We highly recommend this property.

A Dana Point oasis!!!

If you’re looking for a peaceful sanctuary by the beach, then this is the place for you! What was supposed to be a short getaway got extended multiple times because we didn’t want to leave and boy were we lucky! Zach and Debrah were the perfect hosts from start to finish. The place is beautifully designed with a spacious private garden that felt like a luxurious home away from home. We are already looking forward to staying again in the future.

We loved staying in the Balboa property. We will return...

This was a great stress free vacation. We stayed here for close to two months. The property was just as described and went beyond our expectations, very classy and comfortable. Owners go out of their way to ensure that the grounds are well maintained and even brought flowers and wreaths for the entrance way and a small gift at Christmas. How welcoming. We found both owners very friendly and quick to respond to any questions we had. We have already booked the next stay here and are already looking forward to coming back here. Dana Point is a great small walkable community and this rental is close to everything including great restaurants.

Dana Point Garden of Eden

It was very hard for us to leave this place! The garden is really what makes it special. It is the perfect spot to relax, or to work ( I worked from the apt the whole month) or to cook a great dinner in the well appointed and super stylish tile kitchen or on the grill. The hosts are extremely responsive and friendly. The fireplace and large LR and MBR make this place the perfect spot. The out door shower for rinsing after the beach is delightful and HOT! The location is perfect as well. You can walk to the main drag in DP, straight down the road is the harbor walk and the park. Everything is very walkable! Everyone we met was very friendly. Thanks for an amazing stay...can we come back and hang out in the garden sometime ?? ;) Enjoy the place everybody! We know you will!

We've been coming to Dane Point for the past 12 years in the summer. This place was bar far the best. Debra & Zach were the best hosts and responded immediately to any requests we might have had. It was impeccably decorated and maintained and the Backyard was a slice of Heaven with the Hammock, comfortable Swivel Chair, Couch, Gas BBQ and the overall Landscaping was beautiful. We've already booked for next summer. Congratulations Debra & Zach you have a WINNER!!

Extraordinary Stay

Zach & Debra are the best hosts I could have ever imagined, and the Balboa was so beautifully appointed, perfectly located, blissfully quiet and private, that it put my own house to shame! We rented the home to be near an ill family member, and it proved to be a remarkable blessing. Zach & Debra were gracious and accommodating to our fluid situation and even generously rented a second property to us when our vigil became a memorial and more family came to town. When we needed extra bedding, it was there within hours. When we had questions, Zach & Debra immediately responded. They made our visit so comfortable and so easy, it has set a new bar for any rental in the future; a bar that will be very hard to reach. The property itself is truly stunning, so much more than one ever hopes to find in such a reasonably-priced VRBO rental, so homey and clean, and clearly so much thoughtfulness has gone into every single choice made. From the furniture to the decor, to the stocked kitchen and bath, there wasn't a single thing they hadn't thought of to make our stay as luxurious and easy as possible. The location is perfect if you're in Dana Point or nearby, it's so easy to get to, and even comes with an off-street parking space. I just can't say enough about this property and Debra & Zach; if you're going anywhere near Dana Point and you want to stay in an amazing place where you'll feel completely cared for, you have found it here.

Beautiful Dana Point Vacation Spot

A wonderful oasis with a beautiful secluded yard. The apartment is attractively furnished. The bedroom includes a very comfortable king size bed and large ensuite bathroom. The property is located within walking distance to Dana Point Harbor and delightful restuarants. This is a wonderful place to stay and relax!
