Coastal back unit bungalow, above the garage. Being so close to downtown is one of the best features, Apartment above the garage on a two home lot. Up a set of stairs, but one level inside. All newer furnishings, remodeled, light and bright, Dutch door allows ocean breeze. warm coastal feel. ONE bedroom/ONE bathroom- Cal king bed in bedroom, queen sleeper sofa in living room, sleeps 2-4. Recently created a private laundry room for rental home, accessed in back of house/garage. Kitchen fully equipped, wifi, gated front patio, BBQ area, everything light and bright, nice area and very close to downtown, restaurants, Dana Point harbor and beaches. 1 1/2 blocks off PCH, GREAT location, close to everything! Dana Point Respite!

This little gem tucked away in Dana points lantern district is an absolute must stay! Stephanie and her husband were wonderful hosts and went out out of their way to make this stay extra special. Dana point is a hidden gem for a local experience without all the touristy hubbub, there’s plenty to do within walking distance and a quick drive to the Strand to watch the sunset is a sure way to get the best beach experience! Bonus is the cute laundry room that is guest only access!

Perfect Coastal Cottage!

This cottage was beautiful and modern and so thoughtfully appointed! Stephanie had everything we needed in the cottage (and more) and it made our stay so fun and comfortable! Her communications for check in/check out were easy and clear. The location is excellent — we walked to coffee and restaurants and down to the harbor to see the boats and sea lions. We hope to come back again to this amazing beach town. It was so special. Highly recommend this cottage!

Lantern Stay

A walk-able location for all expected Dana Point activities, or short car rides. The rental has all quality appliances and utensils that may be needed if "home" meals are to be prepared. The host owners are super helpful and knowledgeable of the area. We will return for future visits.

Long weekend

We had the best stay here. This place is beyond cute, clean, and comfortable. Communication and hospitality by the hosts is top notch! They pay attention to all of the little details to make your stay as perfect as possible. This trip was with my husband and this place fit us perfectly and we can’t wait to come back. Super quiet neighborhood.

Charming cottage near the beach

My wife, my 16 years old son and I stayed at this charming cozy cottage for four days in July 2024. The owners (Stephanie and Bud) were super friendly, welcoming and extremely helpful. They lend us beach chairs, umbrella and a few other beach items for us to enjoy our time at the beach. The owners are long time local residents and know their area very well which made it easy for us to hone in on a few things to do and try while we were there. The cottage is located a short driving distance to the beach (5 mins), in a very nice quiet residential area. The cottage is very nice, clean and cozy. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need, the main bedroom is spacious with a very comfy king size bed and the bathroom is clean and functional. We only stayed 4 days and I wished I could have stayed longer. Thank you Stephanie and Bud for these wonderful 4 days ! Cheers

Beautiful place; Awesome location

From the moment we were welcomed by our gracious host, to stepping in to the modern beachy chic flat, we knew we made a great choice! The apartment has lots of little touches that make you feel right at home. Very comfy king bed is a plus too! Great location as you can walk to everything; restaurants, coffee, harbor, market, trails etc. Loved our stay, we recommend and would rent again!

Cozy and Great Location

We loved the Lantern District. It's so convenient to the Harbor and everything we wanted to do. My mother and I had a short trip to Dana Point and enjoyed staying at this cottage. It was cozy and had everything we needed for our stay.

Best stat ever!

Brilliant home away from home and the best hosts anyone could ask for! The location is ideal in Dana Point and you can get around anywhere in the town on foot. The home was absolutely perfect for our family and the attention to detail within the home is top-notch. We’ll stay here again and again anytime we’re in the area. A++++ experience and the best vacation home stay we’ve had as a family in 9+ years of extensive travel. Highly, highly recommended for anyone visiting the area!!!

It was a wonderful stay

I enjoyed my stay very much! Stephanie and family couldn’t have been nicer! She introduced to a neighbor who was also very nice. The apartment was very comfortable and cute. It’s a beautiful area. I miss it a lot!

Excellent stay - can't wait to come back!

I had a fantastic stay and I'm sad to leave! Stephanie and Bud were so welcoming and went above and beyond in making sure my stay was a great one. Stephanie provided a ton of great recommendations on restaurants and things to do around the area when I arrived. I had to work "from home" and they made sure I was equipped with everything I needed (even providing me with a desk and desk chair!). The internet was being sluggish on my work laptop and they had someone out the very next day and resolved the issue immediately. Very quiet neighborhood and location is perfect for walking and exploring Dana Point. As a woman traveling by myself I felt very safe staying in this property. Property is bright and updated, equipped with everything I needed for a longer stay, and the bed was VERY comfortable. I highly recommend staying here.

Amazing Rental, Amazing Hosts!

Wonderful, clean, light and bright, beachy apartment with everything you need for your stay. Stephanie and Bud are super responsive and helpful. My family and I stayed in this property while relocating from Washington. Stephanie checked in on us to make sure we had everything we needed, and she had great recommendations on where to eat, things to do with the kids, and a great general knowledge of the area. I would recommend this rental to anyone, 5 stars all around!

We are a family that loves living by the ocean, walking downtown or to the harbor. Our great location allows us to walk to dinner or go see the seals in the harbor. You will love this location as we do. The home is vintage 1950's but all remodeled and updated everything. We purchased this property from the family that built it. We love it's history and warm feel, plus the location can't be beat. We are here for whatever needs may arise, but our rental home allows the tenants privacy as it is detached from our main home. We love the Dana Point area and know you will too. So much to see and do!

We purchased this property from the original family who built it in the 1950's. The back home was built for the family of five to live in while the husband took 6 years to build the front house. We love the charm and history of this home and property.

Walking to downtown! Short drive or walk to the beach, harbor, restaurants. Dana Point is right in between Laguna Beach and San Clemente, both easily accessible from this home. Dana Point has recently had a downtown revitalization, so many wonderful businesses and restaurants have opened.
