Lujoso dúplex frente al Palais des Papes

Lujoso apartamento renovado a principios de 2017 dúplex ubicado frente al Palais des Papes en un antiguo edificio. No solo el acceso es por la Place du Palais, sino que el apartamento es particularmente tranquilo porque da exclusivamente a uno de los famosos jardines secretos de Aviñón que pertenece a una pequeña mansión del siglo XVIII.
Este apartamento de unos 60 m² consta de un primer piso con sala de estar y cocina totalmente equipada.
En el segundo piso hay una habitación de 20 m² con 2 camas de 80 cm x 200 cm (que puede formar una cama doble de 160 cm) y otra pequeña habitación anexa con 2 camas de 70 cm x 190 cm (puede formar una cama doble 140 cm.) Esta habitación es adecuada para adolescentes o niños o una pareja para una estancia corta porque no es muy grande.
Entre las dos plantas se encuentra el baño con bañera, ducha a ras de suelo y aseo.
Wi-fi, TV y reproductor de CD y radio en la sala de estar.
La decoración consiste en muebles modernos y vintage y objetos de arte.
El aparcamiento público de pago está a 30 metros. (19 euros por día o 40 euros por semana. Si permanece más de dos días, es mejor tomar el paquete de la semana)
Este apartamento no es adecuado para personas con dificultades de movilidad debido a las escaleras.

Wonderful, airy apartment in Avignon, ideally located.

We had a wonderful two night stay in Avignon and Alain was a very communicative host who quickly responded to our messages and questions. We drove and he let us know that the paid underground parking at the Palais des Papes was the closest parking lot available, and indeed, it was very convenient. He met us at the apartment, showed us how everything worked, and was kind to let us drop our bags before our check in time. The apartment was light, airy, well equipped, and perfectly located across the pedestrian only square from the Palais. We really enjoyed our stay there!

The Heart of Avignon

Previous reviews say it all. Alain is a gracious host, settled us into the unit, showing us all the amenities, and guided us to the market for groceries. The quiet unit is cozy and charming, and overlooks a beautiful courtyard garden.The location is the best, step out the front door and onto the square in front of the Palace of the Popes. Although the apartment is on four levels, the stairs were not an issue for us. Absolutely enjoyed our stay,

Wonderful location and quaint apartment with character

Alain met us to let us in at the front door and explained the apartment nuisances. He was correct to mention there are stairs. The apartment is 4 levels with a winding spiral staircase. Lots of amenities and space. The back of the apartment looks out to a sweet garden and the front of the apartment looks directly at the Popes Palace, great location. The city is a great destination with lots to enjoy and much ancient history. There are very good restaurants as well.

It was a very easy property to use. There are more stairs than anticipated, but easily managed. The owner is an absolute delight. I'm very happy i chose this location.

Perfect spot

This apartment was a great size, very chic and in the middle of all the sights. It was very quiet inside and then a step out the main door and everything you want in Avignon is right there to soak up. Alain was very responsive and helpful with any information we were seeking.

Excellent location!

We stayed here for 9 nights which gave us time to explore Avignon well and to use it as an excellent base to return to after various day trips. We took the train (easy walk to Avignon station) to L'Orange, Arles and Marseille. All were lovely day trips although Marseille being further and larger, we were only able to see the highlights. We also rented a car to drive in the countryside of the Luberon Valley and to Pont du Gard. The views are gorgeous in these areas. Always nice to come back to this apartment after a day of exploring. Alain's place is spacious for 2-3 people, it does have a set of stairs to the main floor and another to the bedrooms. Having the Palace across from your front entrance is a bonus as it's such a remarkable monument. Alain is a very friendly and kind host.

Ideal Location

Directly across from the Palais de Papes. Beautifully decorated, very comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen. Restaurants at your doorstep, markets a short walk. The perfect location in this enchanting walled city. Alain is an excellent host who gave us recommendations of where to shop, what to see. We spent a wonderful week in this apartment.

A Very French Apartment

Alain's place has all you need for an extended stay in Avignon. A great location, a well appointed kitchen and dining area, and a very comfy bed. That said, this would not be a good place for someone who might have trouble negotiating stairs. My wife and I are in our mid 70's in good health and physical shape and we had no problems with the apartment. A good restaurant is right outside the front door. Stay off the main drag and explore the city on foot if you can. The Calvet Museum is a must see and the best of all the museums in Avignon. Some nice Brueghel the Younger paintings are there. Great little sandwich shop on the main drag, Rue de la Republique and the corner of Rue Mignard. The Palace of the Popes is beautiful outside, but inside is a disappointment. Much like an empty great hall of concrete. The best part was getting to the upper ramparts and the view from there. Three days is about all you'll need. Weekends are busiest.

Super Wohnung in bester Lage

Tolle Wohnung über mehrere Ebenen in sehr besonderer Lage direkt am Papstpalast . Nach hinten raus super ruhig gelegen . Wohnung hat alles was man braucht , , geschmackvoll und hat Charme . Vermieter sehr nett ! Kann ich uneingeschränkt zu 100% weiterempfehlen !!!

Lovely stay!

We really enjoyed our stay here. It is in a great location, right across from the palace. Even though it is on a busy square, the apartment itself is very quiet, with a lovely shaded courtyard. The apartment is clean and well taken care of, with lots of little thoughtful things to make your stay more pleasant. The bed and pillows were quite comfortable, and the AC was highly effective (it was unseasonably hot during our stay and the apartment was always cool!). Communication with Alain was great. Even though we arrived a day late due to issues with the trains, Alain was there to welcome us. He showed us around the apartment and left us a lovely bottle of wine. The parking he recommended was perfect - the entrance is right across from the apartment. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Avignon!

Wonderful location

We had a wonderful stay at Alain's apartment. The location is fabulous - you walk out the front door and you are right in front of Palais des Papes. There are restaurants, cafes and supermarkets all around the area. It was perfect for us. Alain was very good at keeping in touch with us and we appreciated the warm welcome (and fresh home-made lemonade) when we arrived. The apartment is cosy and is well equipped - we appreciated the washing machine and the air con was vital as it was very very hot. We had a great time in Avignon and would definitely stay at Alain's place again.

Perfect place for a great stay

The property is stunning in it's history and it's been updated to suit modern family travel. You really can't get more close to the history of Avingnon. The host was as fantastic as the apartment. We had an amazing visit. You should stay here. Very clean. Very safe

Fantastic apartment in amazing location

My college-age kids and I spent four nights in Alain's lovely apartment. He's a fabulous host and we had everything we needed. We loved the historic building, unique architecture of the former guard tower, and central location on the square facing the palace. The A/C was much appreciated! Fantastic all around!

Excellent location and unique property

The location was amazing, right in the Popes’ Palace plaza. Parking was very close and convenient and Alain was very helpful. We had a great stay.

Beautiful Flat in Avignon

Absolutely loved every detail of our stay in Avignon. Alain was a wonderful host. The flat was beautiful and the location could not have been better. It was quiet and in the middle of everything. Highly recommend!
