Bella Vivace se encuentra al final de un tranquilo camino rural en 5 acres privados de exuberantes jardines y un paisaje semi tropical con vistas espectaculares de montañas onduladas, plantaciones de café y la Bahía de Nicoya en el Océano Pacífico. Este inmaculado apartamento de diseño personalizado de 800 pies cuadrados está completamente amueblado e incluye patio al aire libre, sala de estar, cocina completa con barra para comer, dormitorio principal en la planta baja, baño completo, lavandería y estacionamiento privado.

Este hermoso apartamento forma parte de Hacienda Vivace, una casa principal española contemporánea espectacular recién terminada. El apartamento separado está completamente amueblado y todos los servicios, internet y estacionamiento privado están incluidos. El desayuno se ofrece bajo petición y por un suplemento.

Bella Vivace de Hacienda se encuentra a las afueras de San Ramón, en la pintoresca zona de alta gama de Magallanes, una mezcla de residentes de Costa Rica y extranjeros. La zona es tranquila, segura y privada, pero a 5 minutos del centro de San Ramón. Toda la hacienda es una plantación de café en funcionamiento con flores dramáticas de café blanco en mayo y bayas de café rojo cereza de noviembre a enero. Los jardines de la hacienda son atendidos con cuidado por los propietarios y proporcionan un ambiente de belleza y tranquilidad.

San Ramón es una ciudad provincial "muy tranquila" de 20,000 habitantes que recibe a los viajeros con una graciosa sensación de orgullo y un ritmo lento de vida. La ciudad ofrece todo: desde mercados al aire libre, supermercados y tiendas, hasta restaurantes y bares, cine de 3 salas, museos y estudios de arte, un hospital importante y la Universidad de Costa Rica.

Bella Vivace se encuentra a minutos de la mayoría de las atracciones turísticas: desde los volcanes Poás y Arenal a la Reserva Biológica Manuel Antonio en el Pacífico, playas prístinas, excursiones en velero, canopy tours, caña de azúcar y café, cabalgatas o caminatas y aves -vigilando en los Parques Nacionales.

Get away from it all in a beautiful setting

Comfy, cozy, private in a beautiful setting where you can have your morning coffee while looking at the Bay of Nicoya or the surrounding pastoral setting: That's Bella Vivace! It's clean, spacious, well equipped, and the hosts are very accommodating. Everything you need is here for a enjoyable Costa Rican vacation. Centrally located so it's easy to get to the popular tourist spots without having to be surrounded by tourists the entire time. We highly recommend Bella Vivace!

Beautiful, comfy space with great hosts

Large, clean, and has a wonderful patio (with now mature landscaping and covered patio unlike online photo). Hosts are on-site and very helpful and responsive, with lots of info and recommendations for local resources. We enjoyed watching the birds, butterflies, and other wildlife while relaxing on the patio. Close to San Ramon, a beautiful little city, and perfect weather. Like most places here, bring insect repellent for the midges and mosquitoes (unless you are one of those people who never get bitten). And if using Google Maps to get here, when it says you have arrived, you are actually at the neighbor’s drive, and your destination is the next drive ahead on the left!

BEST 3 MONTH STAY EVER!

Overall I was very satisfied with my stay and with my hosts Nancy and Andy, in San Ramon. The Belle Vivance, one bedroom Casita was very clean, the right size and level of comfort I expected. The gardens were well maintained and absolutely stunning! The sunsets were MAGICAL. Nancy and Andy were very accommodating and hospitable. Would I stay there again? Absolutely! However, I would like to point out a few misleading marketing claims listed: One being, “Pet Friendly”. This place is certainly NOT pet friendly. JAKE, their much older large, male dog, aggressively and continuously attached my small dog RICO, (chihuahua) many times, putting him and myself at risk of being physically harmed. After many failed attempts, of requesting that my hosts secure JAKE on a leash for our SAFETY, finally, they addressed the issue and found a solution. Misleading marketing issue #2. The advertisement suggested that there was an indoor pool, YES there is, however it’s a LAP pool located inside their home. I did not feel comfortable entering their private home everyday, to swim. This was very disappointing as I expected to continue my exercise routine, while I was there. I felt very mislead Therefore, the pool was never used by any of the guests in the three apartments. Misleading marketing issue #3. There was absolutely no PRIVACY. I had a beautiful patio, (as advertised, but certainly NOT private). it was the main traffic area for the owner and his workers.

We are happy that Lillian for the most part appreciated our little apartment, the grounds and our hospitality. We will certainly take her negative comments as 'constructive criticism,' but we feel it is incumbent on us to respond for future guests. We are, in fact, dog lovers and in the past we have never had any issues with guests' dogs. When Lily first arrived and Jake first encountered her puppy, Lily was afraid Jake was endangering her puppy and requested that we keep Jake locked in our home unless we let her know that we were letting him out. With our 5-acre property and the fact that Jake has never been a menace to other dogs, we normally have our front door open and the dog runs free. Jake spent 3 months confined to our home and pretty much only got out if Lily confirmed that her dog was indoors. Rather than continuing to allow dogs, we are regrettably deleting 'pet friendly' from our listing as we prefer to not infringe on our dogs' freedom. Further, when Lillian was away from the apartment, she locked her puppy in the bathroom. The result was a continuous crying barking puppy and significant damage to the custom made wood door that now needs to be refinished at significant cost as well as probably 1 to 2 weeks that the apartment can not be used. Regarding the swimming pool that she felt uncomfortable accessing. Yes it is a lap pool inside our home. Our guests are all welcome to use it and most enjoy the use of it. Those who have used it have been very respectful and have not inconvenienced us in the least, so we will continue to allow our guests access. During her stay Lily never expressed any discomfort with the idea of using the poll; on the contrary she was going to a nearby pool daily to attend water aerobics. Though we don't agree that it was false advertising, we take her comments seriously and are going to just remove mention of a pool from the property description. We will just explain the pool situation with our prospective guests in our subsequent communications. Regarding the owner and workers .......that is primarily Andy (owner) as his helper working on landscape 6 hours one day of the week. The apartment is in the center of an acre of gardens and on the way to our orchid greenhouse. If in her 3 month visit she had expressed the least issue with passing by the apartment we would have avoided going by the apartment.

Great location, overall comfortable accommodations

The unit interior is identical to what you see in the pictures, though if you like to read a book in the evening, be prepared to be a little inconvenienced. Decent kitchen for basic cooking. The apartment is under the house and around back, and during our stay, workers doing house repairs were coming and going across the patio throughout the day. The outdoor table now has a metal patio cover - a great place to sit and enjoy the rain. Vegetation around the patio is tall obscuring any view, and the plants are wonderful. We recommend taking walks around the property and the area to enjoy the many gorgeous flowers. Close to San Ramon - the single-lane road is generally quiet and we never saw another car on our daily trips out. We recommend shopping at Mas x Menos - better selection of products; prices only slightly higher than Maxi Pali. The only downside, and it was a big one in our case because we like to sit outside, is the hosts' pool heater. It burns wood, not well vented, and the daily smoke chased us off numerous times. It also made doing laundry difficult because it has to be hung outside to dry - in the smoke, unless they are going out that day. If that was repaired and the smoke no longer came over the patio and into the apartment beginning before sunrise, this place could be ideal. Consider one of their other two units if they are available.

Andy and Nancy are a retired married couple from Santa Cruz, California. Andy is a former cabinet designer and Nancy a former Silicon Valley marketing executive. We designed and built the spectacular 5,000 square foot, contemporary Spanish Hacienda Vivace and 1800 square foot Casita over the past 3 years. Our architect fondly refers to it as "Andy and Nancy's art project".

We are active members of the Community Action Alliance (CAA), a non-profit organization of expats and Ticos in greater San Ramón volunteering together for community development and enrichment. We do community outreach projects and fundraising for organizations such as San Ramon scouts/girl guides, local orphanage, children's cancer foundation, local music school instrument donation program, and more. We also host events such as Oktoberfest, Christmas Madrigal, and St. Patrick's Day.

After looking at Bali, Thailand, Philippines, Mexico and Panama, we felt that Costa Rica had so much more to offer us. The country is incredibly beautiful, travel is easy, and the people are wonderful. There are many micro climates to suit individual needs and an abundance of things to do. In 1949 the country abolished their army and invested all their money into education and health care and, today, have a well educated, healthy and happy population. Recent surveys show that Costa Ricans are one of the happiest people in the world. Costa Rica has a very low crime rate compared to other countries in Central and South America. They also have a longer life expectancy because of the lifestyle they live - Pura Vida!
