Beautiful view with dock

My family loved staying here for the weekend. The dock is great if you have a boat. The kitchen is well stocked and the bedroom mattress is comfortable. The back porch is spacious. Dana was easy to communicate with! Thank you.

very clean rental, excellent ramps for older folks. overall great place. one side thought-ramps are great for older folks but old lowboy toilets are a pain in the rear! will stay again.

What a view!

The Moonshine Cabin was great. The location of the property was beautiful. We enjoyed the panoramic view of the North Newport River from the cabin. The sunsets were epic. We had a lot of fun “car hiking” in the afternoons exploring this area. The beds were very,very,very comfortable. I believe they were brand new. Wonderful memory foam that felt like you were sleeping on a cloud! Kitchen outfitted with top of the line appliances and items to prepare any type of meal. There is a dual coffee/ Keurig maker. The communication with Dana, the property owner was quick. We are pesty seniors that can’t figure out these fancy TV’S. The next door neighbor has a dog…River, a huge, adorable and “stick crazy” yellow lab. Come and stay here just to meet him. I will never forget him and will never look at a stick again without thinking of him. Thanks y’all for a wonderful Christmas stay(they even had the cabin decorated and a tree!) can’t wait to return to Colonels Island.

Moonshine Cabin - a great break from the rat race

We had a lovely few days at the Moonshine Cabin. The cabin was dated but well equipped with everything you could possibly need, all of which was good quality. The place was spotless. The location was fabulous and just what we needed - quiet and peaceful. We could never tire of the view from the deck that overlooked the river. The only sound was the birds and an occasional passing boat. We can't wait to go back.

Islands Getaway

We had a very enjoyable stay. The cabin was so spacious. The back porch was a pleasant surprise. The views were amazing and beautiful sunsets. And dolphin sightings were a plus.

Perfectly peaceful

Moonshine cabin met all our requirements: close enough to Savannah and Jekyll Island for day trips; far enough from neighbors so our dogs had room to play; something for the tween and teen to do while parents relaxed. Even checking all the boxes, this cabin exceeded our expectations. Very clean, comfortable beds. Huge back deck complete with more than enough seating options—and even an outdoor TV!

Good vacation rental

Pros: dock was awesome, beautiful view, clean house, plenty of parking, right by a marina, price Cons: fishing off the dock is difficult due to how deep the water is, how much the tides change and being on an oyster bed. We couldn't crab off the dock because it was too deep and we mostly only caught toadfish which was disappointing. All in all it was a solid house. If you bring a boat, it would be amazing! But for what we wanted fishing wise, it could've been better.

Could Have Bern Better

Pros: Close to dock, dock is covered and has fans, running water cleaning station, pretty outdoor lights on dock and house deck, ice maker in freezer works well. Cons: ice and water have a sulfur taste (bring bottled water), rugs are tripping hazard (especially in hall), dishwasher is not secured, no step-stool to reach cabinet shelves (I am 4’10), sheets on master bed slip, pots and pans handles heat quickly, dishes are no microwave friendly for they get hot quick, communication with manger was not as prompt as other places we have stayed, ceiling fans and lights not clearly marked. Not a bad place but just could have been better. Please remember to bring skin-so-soft for the no-see-ums.

FANTASTIC!!

God, thank you! I felt so relaxed at this lovely, fantastic, beautiful, tremendous home! And I really enjoyed sitting on the dock "of the bay". We caught a few fish which we ate, and we saw one dolphin way out and a few jelly fish. The deck was tremendous and enjoyable; the breeze from the water was great! Never really hot! Plus they have ceiling fans on the dock. Man, I'm hoping to return here maybe next year or later. Worth the trip! Thank you, Dana! Tanya

So peaceful and relaxing

Very nice cabin but the back porch and covered dock overlooking the river steals the show!!! Dolphins pass by nearly every morning and evening. Owners are very attentive. Would love to come back in the fall.
