Nice beach property with great location

Nice property with easy access to the beach. The floors were vinyl and easy to clean when particles of sand followed you back. We would definitely return to this property

The property was very clean and felt like home!

The townhome was well kept as well as the property as a whole. We saw the grounds keeper working each day. We can’t wait to return to the beautiful area!

The condo was nice but we had a few issues. The shower in the master bathroom leaked, the toilet in the half bath leaked and the dishwasher wouldn’t work. I contacted the emergency number and someone responded immediately but it still took 2 days to get the issues fixed. We had 7 girls staying there and all of us using one shower was not easy. But after everything was fixed the rest of the trip with smoothly. They also gave us a gift card for all of the trouble. Other than these issues the condo was great. I would stay here again!

Beautiful location, active construction and not so helpful management

The access to the beach was just as promised. However our overall was just okay. The property had a limited supply of items on the property. property sleeps 8, but items in the home did not support the 8 in any way. There was active construction on the property and we were advised by the contractors to not use the balconies at all as it was a safety risk. The management had not notified us of this at all. The balconies and the view is one of their selling points. We reached out to the management about the construction related noise and scaffolding but we did not hear back from them at all.

Great Location - Needs some TLC

This property has great location and easy access to the beach. The size of the unit easily accommodated 2 couples, 1 child, and one single adult. Things requiring improvement; needs a good cleaning, cabinets were sticky, unit advertised for 8 only had 6 forks, spots on furniture, towels, linens. Looked like new flooring was installed and finishing touches were not completed, dark black rot spot on ceiling 1st floor. Parking passes were missing in unit and when we inquired, we were told call here, text there we finally made our own. As a previous property owner and former customer of Real Joy we understand the turn-over and lack of workers. HOWEVER, at the current high cost of the rental, we don't think it unrealistic to expect a clean unit. Perhaps a day in between check-ins would allow for better service. We will NOT rent this unit again.

Not what it seems

If your looking just to lay your head for an outrageous price. This place is for you. To begin with there is no broom or toliet paper. Don't get me wrong I've never stayed anywhere that didn't provide this. 1 roll per bathroom and that was it for a condo that sleeps 8 and for 7 days. I think we had 3 trash bags for 7 days. And for somewhere that is on the beach I expect a broom. The fridge leaks and the upstairs bathroom. I'm pretty sure the entire floor is uneven. The stove needs to be adjusted. Almost impossible to cook on. The dishes where greasy when we got here. I've stayed at Gulf Winds here in Destin before and loved it. But I will never stay in 47 ever again. We paid entirely to much for the condo to be in such a run down place. This pics online are very deceiving.

Stay, no run away from RealJoy!

The unit itself wasn’t that bad. When we arrived, we had to move the coffee table, which literally fell apart when we lifted it. The WiFi never worked. But what was most disappointing is the complex was under construction/renovation. Workers arrived in the morning and started hammering right outside our door. Waking up to and hearing the construction all day long was not how I wanted to spend my vacation. Of course no one communicated to us beforehand to let us know there would be construction going on! The icing on the cake though was getting charged $300 for a coffee table that was broken when we arrived. When you rent there is a mandatory $59 Accidental Damage Waiver (up to $1,500). So even if we had broken it (which we didn’t) it seems the insurance should have covered it?! Yet I can’t get RealJoy to remove the $300 charge?! So this is not a vacation rental “by owner” it is a vacation rental “by a very poor management company out to take your money”. I had to give it one star because it wouldn’t let me leave zero. For the record, I have rented over 20 homes through VRBO - this is the first time I have had to leave a bad review.

We would like to apologize for the inconveniences you experienced here. All our marketing for this unit clearly states that there is onsite, ongoing construction estimated to last through mid-May 2019. We did some checking and couldn’t find where you had reported the coffee table broken or any issues with the WiFi during your stay. Our inspectors go in after each guest and check the units before another party arrives to make sure everything is in working order and the coffee table was fine. Since it was not reported during your stay and was found after you had checked out that is why you were charged the fee. Again, thank you for your feedback.

Just ok.

I think our overall experience was just OK. Would I go back? No. It felt like we were in a motel. The unit itself had the loudest squeaky floors on the second floor/ stairs. If you try to put the baby to sleep they’d more than likely wake from you walking away on the creaking floorboards. The couch and rug downstairs we’re not in the best condition with it being white. Our first night we went out to get dinner and we came back to the unit with the door being wide open and a guy cleaning the sofa at 9 pm. He stated he’s there to clean the couches he was supposed to be there earlier but he could not leave when we asked if he could return at a later time. I quickly called the number to the maintenance line and finally got a live person. When I finally reached someone she didn’t know what he was there for she said it looked as if he was scheduled in error and he must’ve gotten his days mixed up? That we could get a free explore voucher and they’d call. We never received any calls about any vouchers throughout our stay. From that night our stay made us feel alittle uneasy Thinking any moment while we were out someone randomly could come in the unit when they “weren’t supposed to be there” because they had the door code. No one bothered to check in on us during or after our stay after the incident to make sure everything was going smoothly. Is it close to the beach? yes. It’s Perfect distance. That was probably the best part of the whole stay but not enough to book again. Thanks.

great location, close to the beach! Some small issues with the property like appliances that didn’t work and some other broken things that didn’t affect our stay. Our gate code to the beach never worked but thankfully others were always available to let us in! Overall good play to stay for price and location!
