Esta antigua casa de campo, decorada con muebles hermosos y cómodos, se encuentra en el quinto Fairway y es el hogar más cercano al majestuoso Skytop Lodge. El plano de planta de la cabaña y su proximidad al Lodge lo convierten en un excelente lugar de descanso para disfrutar del Lodge y sus fantásticas instalaciones.
Siete habitaciones privadas: ninguna habitación comparte una pared, seis habitaciones grandes con un gran armario y sala de estar. El séptimo dormitorio es más pequeño pero tiene baño privado. Alquile la casa como 7 dormitorios / 4 baños (toda la casa), o como 4 dormitorios / 3 baños (primer piso)

ACERCA DE LAS ACTIVIDADES EN EL SITIO DE SKYTOP:
Durante su estadía en la cabaña 45, disfrutará del acceso a Skytop Lodge y las instalaciones recreativas en los 5500 acres del Lodge. Las actividades recreativas en el Lodge incluyen: un campo de campeonato de 18 hoyos, cinco canchas de tenis Har-Tru, dos canchas para todos los climas, una cancha de pádel elevada, un lago para botes / pesca, lago para nadar con campo de obstáculos flotante, piscinas cubiertas y al aire libre , 30 millas de senderos para caminatas, pesca con mosca y centro de aventuras. we had a wonderful weekend at the cottage. it is old and has a few eccentricities but overall, it was very enjoyable! the home was cozy and comfortable and the resort activities amazing! we would definitely return! overall, a great place to spend some family time together!

The house was nice and spacious, but had several issues: heating, electrical, and water leaks. Also, there was a lack of follow up after the trip.The instructions for turning on the heat were to use a premarked arrow, as the numbers were hidden behind privacy glass; this worked OK on the first night, but by the 2nd night the house temperature refused to go above 50 degrees. Increasing the thermostat netted no changes. When the owner's son arrived a few hours later, we learned the arrow marked 60 degrees; we needed to set the thermostat higher. In the end, the son resolved the heating issues and the rest of the stay was between 65-68 degrees.Next, constant mini power outages: this may be due to PPL or due to environmental issues, but it might be due to the age of the home, so I'm putting it here as something to be aware of.Last, water leaks: the master bedroom and 1 queen bedroom had water leaking through the ceiling and onto the bed. The owner's son tried to resolve this issue, but we ultimately had to move bedrooms and shift ourselves around.Overall, it took a long time to resolve our issues: we did not realize the heating issue was a reliability one and/or a thermostat setting one as it turned on at times; Skytop maitnenance was called but could not assist; and their son, who was able to resolve everything, arrived hours later. When we were told we could discuss recompensation for all our issues, we felt a bit better. But then, we were ghosted after we had left.

First of all the guest failed to mention that the weekend of their stay was with record-breaking freezing temperatures and with strong winds, and about two feet of snow at the Poconos. The first night, February 6th, the temperature dropped to negative -3F, and the night of February 7th, it dropped to -6F. Our guests' check-in instructions are very clear that the dial turn thermostat downstairs for the steam heat radiators is marked with an arrow on the dial for RECOMMNEDED setting, but can be easily adjusted to any desired temperature by turning the dial to a desired temperature. I assume the quests failed to read the temperature settings in our instructional check-in reminder. The three bedrooms, bathroom, and all other rooms upstairs are controlled in each room by individual electric heat thermostats. We checked with the Skytop Lodge maintenance crew, and the entire resort was experiencing very short (seconds-long) power surges as well. We have responded to the guest promptly. We immediately called the Skytop maintenance crew, who arrived at the house within 20 minutes to check on water drippings from the bedroom ceiling. They concluded that the water drops from the ceiling were due to heating and/or water pipes sweating inside the attic wall due to record-breaking, extremely low temperatures outside and very warm inside the two bedrooms. And my son arrived at the house within 2.5 hours from New Jersey and quickly resolved all the issues.

My stay was very enjoyable my family enjoyed. We were able to have enough space and room for the whole entire family and celebrate my mother-in-law‘s 80th birthday as well as having our Thanksgiving dinner. Everything went well. Already looking forward to coming and lodging there again

Being steps away from Skytop lodge was incredibly convenient! Overall the house is a bit outdated and could use some design refreshes/brightening up but it had plenty of space to comfortably accommodate our group.

Cozy and Quaint

We really enjoyed the stay on a family wedding weekend. It gave us a place to gather and talk and be together. The stone fireplace was very cozy. It along with the furnishings gave a true lodge / cabin feel. The community rule requiring us to keep to 3 cars was restrictive at times and it would be nice if that could be revisited to match the number of bedrooms. The closeness to Skytop was key for us and access to resort activities was fun.

Wonderful

The house was very cozy and close to the lodge. It is a little dated but it had a rustic mountain feel, The stone fireplace was amazing! There was wood but it had been outside in the snow and wouldn't light but there was a store close by enere we could buy some. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and ports and pans. The host was most helpful and quickly answered any questions we had.

Great location. old home but it was clean. kitchen needs updating especially utensils. could use a Keurig. bracelets give access to some hotel amenities but not all hotel amenities according to the hotel which meant we couldn't make reservations for some activities that we wanted to do. manager was easy to contact when we had a few issues.

Mixed review

The house was perfect for our stay - a bit dated but had plenty of room and was in a great location. The major downside is that it was advertised as having full access to all of the amenities at the Lodge, which turned out not to be the case. We were told by the Concierge at the Lodge that renters of the house are not allowed to use facilities such as the pool and the Adventure Center, etc. This should definitely be made clear to potential renters! Had we known we might have rented elsewhere.

Great stay for Skytop Lodge events

Very ideal house if you & a large group of others need a place to stay for an event at Skytop Lodge…literally 3 minutes walking from the Lodge, can’t beat it. Large house with plenty of bedrooms, slept 14 adults (6 were couples) with no issues. AC wasn’t working in one room but they had a fan so we managed no problem. I wouldn’t call this a complaint, but we wouldn’t have minded if the house was cleaned up a bit more before check-in. Completely understand it’s a much older house that’s deep in the woods, but a quick wipe down in certain areas could’ve gone a long way. Would highly recommend for large groups looking for a convenient spot in the area.

Great experience for our group

We had a great long weekend at this property. It was great to have so many amenities and activities within walking distance and the house offered plenty of space for us to both gather together and enjoy privacy. As mentioned in the property description, the house is antique and the floorplan is awkward as is often the case with older homes. Overall the interior was a bit tired, including the lighting and furniture. The kitchen equipment was also quite limited — for example, there was no frying pan. For our group we had a great weekend and feel that the weaknesses of this property are more than outweighed by the strengths, although if we return we will probably bring more of our own kitchen stuff.

Nice to Know that ...

The "cottage" is quite old and a real piece of history. It had plenty of room for 4 adults and 3 young children. Before you go, get all the information you can about the resort. Our grandchildren are 4, 4, and 2. While there were plenty of things to keep them busy, many of the other activities were not appropriate. For example, the swim lake has an awesome floating "playground" anchored in the middle. To use it, you must wear a flotation device provided by the resort and these have a 50 lb. minimum. None of the kids could be safely secured so we had to avoid that part of the resort as we were not able to use their own well-fitted and perfectly safe flotation devices. The cottage is very close to the main lodge so it was a reasonable walk for the 4 year old twins but the two year old usually needed "adult" transportation. We did have one regrettable evening which was in no way the fault of the homeowner. The cottage backs onto a fairway which runs along the conference center. On Wednesday night around 9:15 there was what seemed to be an explosion very close to the house. We had just gotten all three children to sleep (The two year old took 1.5 hours to get to sleep that night!). I thought the gas grill had exploded because it shook the house so hard. While outside checking the grill I soon learned the source of the noise. A professional fireworks display was being launched about 300 feet from the house in the middle of the fairway. The deafening noise and house shaking went on for 30 minutes. As you can imagine, the impact on our household was not pretty . The next day we learned that a corporation had booked the entire hotel for the day/night and wanted to surprise everyone with the fireworks. Part of their contract with Skytop stipulated no one could be notified of the event. This is why it wasn't listed on the daily event schedule and why the "surprise" was not necessarily a good one for all those impacted. We understand the resort needs this type of business and we would have been fine with the fireworks if we had known. I'm not sure it was a good business decision to accept this "surprise" restriction. My point here is ... Skytop is a wonderful destination and we value and appreciate their commitment to nature, the environment and sustainability. Just try to find out as much as you can about what is going on there during the time of your visit.

Thanks Roberta for appreciating our house. Sorry to hear about "surprise" fireworks on the golf course near the house. We can not recall any fireworks conducted after 9pm without prior notice in daily resort highlights for at least past 12 years. This must be very, very rare "surprise" event and we agree that the event still should have been announced to resort homeowenrs/guests in nearby homes. We will surely bring it up at our next resort homeowenrs meeting. Thanks again and enjoy the rest of your summer.

Wonderful Home for Family Reunion

We had a wonderful family reunion, and this seven-bedroom house we chose worked perfectly. Plenty of space for 14 of us. Huge bedrooms with comfortable beds. Proximity to the Lodge with all the activities and dining was a huge plus. Many of us spent mornings sipping coffee and tea in the large screened porch right off the living room while enjoying the scenery and mountains' early breeze. There were plenty of activities at the resort for all our family generations. Golfing, fishing, and skeet shooting were big hits for most of us! We had most of our dinners at the Lodge, and the service and food were great. We surely will be coming again! Thank you for sharing your house with us.

Great value; short walk to Skytop Lodge

We needed housing for 6-8 adults in a flexible space near the lodge. We were quite happy with the pricing and location of the home, which backs up to the golf course. In terms of condition, the place is sparkling clean, albeit with fairly old furnishings and fixtures. Some well-considered upgrades to furnishings and fixtures would have been a benefit. Enjoy!

Family Fun and Beauty At Skytop!

We had a good 5 night stay at Alex's property. He was very friendly and helpful in answering calls and texts when we had questions about how to use things at the house. The house is very well situated to Skytop Lodge, with all its amenities, events and adventures. We had wrist bands to allow us to utilize all of that. Some things cost extra. Just check their website before you go, to find out. We ate at the Pub(good service/so so food), and the Lakeview(shout out for the great service by Kata/good food!). We had everything we needed to make meals at the house, and we did often. Stop at the Shoprite in Mt. Poconos, as it had everything-even a beautiful birthday cake for my 80 year old Mother In Law. She and her older husband had no issues with using anything at the house and at Skytop. We used the outdoor grill once and it worked out well. Everyone slept well, and we played cards every night at the dining room table. There was room for 12 of us to sit comfortably. This is a rustic house that is good for a large extended family with bathrooms enough to make everyone happy. If you are super fussy, and used to high end hotels or rentals, or fashionable decor, this is not the place for you. If you want a really good deal on a vintage place to stay at Skytop, this is it. Read the other reviews, like I did, and make your decision based on them, as well as what you see in the photos. There is a very large, beautiful, well tended, wild flower garden a stones throw from the house that you can walk in, a wonderful hike to a gorgeous waterfall just down the road and over the small highway(there were even blueberries growing on the sides of the path to pick and eat, and wild deer and their fawns were about, helping make it a magical stay. Family Reunion

We could not have asked for a better location. We rented cottage 44 and 45 for 19 people and they were so convenient to the lodge. We went during an off time and were able to use everything Skytop had to offer. They had everything we needed for this family reunion. We went hiking, kayaking, golfing, swimming, roasted marshmallows and had smores, and fishing. One night we ate at the Lakeside (preordered dinner) and another night at Basso's Italian down the road. We also had lunch at the Pourhouse Pub down the road. We ordered food from instacart for breakfast, lunch and snacks. Make sure you have the correct address for instacart if you do this. I would highly recommend this home for a large group and definitely for Convenience Sake.

Wedding Weekend

It was a perfect property right next to the wedding venue! It has a lot of beds and bedrooms and easily accommodated our large group.
